question about QA and MTs...sm

I have a relatively new part-time account. I have never worked for a national before and had everything to through a QA person who apparently knows everything. (feel the love, already). I've been an MT for 12 years and never had complaints about my grammar, ability to make documents look professional (administrative stuff), etc. But I'm getting these LENGTHY emails about how I'm changing templates (not - couldn't if I wanted to), making corrections where I should be typing as dictated and other days not making corrections on bad dictators, as well as a variety of lengthy English grammar lessons, on and on...

I don't know if I should respond to these comments, or do I just take them in stride. I don't know if I'm "allowed" to state my case, because I've never worked with QA people like this. I feel like if I don't reply, I'm at a loss because of their inconsistencies but when I replied before I got the feeling that they thought I was just thin skinned and overly sensitive, to understand that QA is doing their job (duh). How do you deal with QA people...or do you?
