I love my job too, and I really like the company I am working for, but the writing is on the wall for all MTs. Things are not going to get better, only worse, and more and more of us, including those of us who are now earning enough and getting enough work, are going to see big changes in wages and availability or work. I think this isn't necessarily about now but about the future. I still need to be working 5 or 10 years from now and I don't want to look back and say "gee, I should have done something." I think we need to protect our futures instead of just thinking "I'm okay today so I won't worry about what is happening all around me."

Be proactive about your situation!! sm
don't wait for them to finally get around to training you. You have asked more than once and they are dragging their feet for whatever reason. you can't wait around forever. Get out there and find a second account.
I learned a long time ago to never put all my eggs in one basket in this business. I have alway had at least two jobs going at all times. You never know when an account is going to try going VR or the MTSO loses the account, or whatever. Gotta have your CYA factor.
Yes, can you hear what the outcry would have been pre 9/11 if he had tried to do ANYTHING proactive
