Actually, isn't it the Health Insurance Portability & Accountability Act?
nm.
There is no apparent accountability in Mexico.
Many people go there as a last resort, when all traditional treatment has failed.  I think it was Steve McQueen who went there for "coffee enemas".    I've never heard a success story yet.   I don't think it speaks bad our healthcare system, although Lord knows it needs fixing.   Have you ever watched the news when they are in third world countries and you have 20 patients in the same room, no equipment, usually only the most basic medications,  little if any skilled medical personnel.  When I was in Brazil years ago, they had 2 woman in labor in the SAME bed.
Portability

You should always have a backup of your list on an outside media.
So if you choose an employer who uses the same Expander software, you won't lose all the work you have put into it.
If you decide to purchase an expander for yourself, check its portability (will it work with all transcription platforms?), the ability to easily import your list, and its cost-effectiveness.

GP = HASP = Portability
GP absolutely uses a HASP key, and you can certainly load it onto two computers and simply work on whichever one by attaching the key.  I do it all the time.  Desktop at my workplace, laptop on the road.  If I can get my files from wireless, no problem whatsoever.  No separate install codes or anything else required.
Portability of short-cut lists

You may want to get an Expander program like ShortHand or Instant Text. They allow you to use your short-cut list(s) in any application you type in, and you will never have to redo your list(s) when you change accounts or company platforms.

Portability of abbreviation lists

Your question raises the portability of abbreviation lists when you use different trascription platforms.

Each platform offers a utility where you can create your list of abbreviations, but you don't want to start over and over each time you change platforms.
The solution to this problem is that EITHER these platforms provide you with another utility that lets you convert your list to their format OR you invest in an Expander software like ShortHand or Instant Text that let you use your list practically on all platforms.
With Instant Text you can import your AutoCorrect with a few clicks and then you can use it with EMDAT or any other platform.
Your time is worth money. You may want to evaluate how much it is worth by calculating how much time it takes to redo your list.

HIPPA=Health Insurance Privacy and Portability Act
Yes, I saw the ad also and felt it was an insult to offer that line rate for what they wanted from an IC.  I put the definition of what the initials HIPPA mean for your benefit.
