In Reply to: English is not the national language sm - melting pot

"English is not and should not be the national language" ?  What should it be, then? Each country has a national language.  In Germany, it is German.  In France, it is French.  In Mexico, it is Spanish.  So here in the United States of America, where a predponderance of the people living here speak English, it is both logical and correct that our national language should be English.  Get your head out of the politically correct clouds and deal with the REALITY of the old adage, When in Rome, do as the Romans do.  It is only logical. Anything else smacks of a one-world nation.  We are separate nations.  Each nation adopting some of the best of each other's culture is a GOOD thing.  One big fat conglomerate mess is a bad thing.  Witness mixing green paint with yellow paint -- a lovely color, green, evolves.  Witness mixing green paint with red paint -- what a mess.   So, too, we should select and keep the best that each country has to offer, and weed out that which isn't great.   (Past horrific blunders notwithstanding. Cannot undo what is already done, just move on and try not to repeat.)  Keep the green, get rid of the gray.  KEEP ENGLISH,  get rid of the MISH-MOSH.
