not accepting donations?

Where pray tell did you hear they were refusing donations of food and clothing cause they just want the money?  And, heck, yes, if I had no money, I sure would want the money, too.  They left with the clothes on their backs to escape the floods..Some even lost part of their clothing and shoes while running through the hurricane and water..They have nothing..No home, no job, animals gone, some families separated..Giving them money so they get back on their feet is the least the federal govt can do.  I would rather have my taxes going to help my fellow Americans in the gulf coast than for a dang war that we started.

There IS something we can do: stop accepting

accepting an account
Hi all.  I was hoping someone who runs their own MT service could give me some info as to how they handle the following situation.  I have an opportunity to do a local account by a doctor that could lead into steady work on a permanent basis.  so how does one handle the situation when it comes time if you want a few days off  or the possibilty of going on a vacation.  I have no clue!   Thank you so much.  Any info would be appreciated.
Have you thought of accepting a job in house? That is how most of us began.

Nothing more racist to me than accepting that blacks are poor and stupid and need help,

donations
I also started taking pictures of my donations this year because I read somewhere, might have been in Intuit It's Deductible, that it was recommended to do that now and keep with taxes in case of audit, in addition to receipts. We had a major move this year and donated a lot of stuff in good shape, but I didn't get pictures of all of it because hadn't seen that before.
THAT'S IT! WE DID IT!! Please do not make anymore donations. THANK YOU!!!!

BIG difference between DONATIONS and mandatory
Time to visit the eye-doctor.
Uh...ok. What does that have to do with federalizing donations from the private sector?
That's part of what I'm saying.  People have been donating relief items like blankets, generators, food, diapers, otc medications, etc. to their churches that they think are being dispensed to their fellow Catholics, Baptists, Lutherans, whatever.  The only problem is the feds are intercepting these donations, federalizing them, and then either storing them in warehouses so that the people who REALLY need them (those not in the shelters because they had actually evacuated to churches) don't get them until they're approved.  Or FEMA takes those donations to the churches, intercepts them, federalizes them, and then hands them out to those already approved like everyone in the Astrodome on welfare - while others who have probably never had a handout in their life still wait for help.
Red Cross donations= Research before you donate to ANY NPO
I, for one, will NEVER donate to the Red Cross. Why? My father was NEVER notified his mother died. He never got to attend her funeral or say goodbye. . . He found out after he came home from the service. I could tell you other horror stories, but won't. Sure, I'm bitter, but don't need to be flamed. Would you like to come home and find your mother has been dead and buried and you didn't even know? Think about it.

The Salvation Army is my choice. I KNOW all the money is going to the Katrina Victims. If anyone has a chance, they should look at the statistics on how much money donated really goes to victims of a disaster. The sites escape my memory right now, but they are/should be all online.
donations for the relief coming from 50+ countries, including

-- India is making a $5 million donation to the American Red Cross, Ambassador Ronen Sen said Saturday. In addition, Sen said India was willing to donate essential medicines to the relief effort, noting that India has the largest number of Food and Drug Administration-recognized pharmaceutical companies outside the United States.
