Local radiology company, not transcription company
who has only 5 transcriptionists and are not hiring at this moment. We all work at home and get great benefits, no insurance out of pocket and 22 days paid vacation in the first year, after that it goes up. I feel very fortunate to have found them, but again I chose them because they did not do production, so now that they are, I'm a little disappointed.

Anyone heard of a company called Priority Medical? I sent my resume to the owner **** but when I check on Internet Priority Medical is not owned by her and she claims she is the owner. How can I be sure?

Do not work for her. She is very cunning and will rip you off your money....she can feign an accident of herself or someone in her family or blame you for incorrect line counts, etc., or blame UPS for not delivering the check, or say Paypal has a problem.....she will use all these methods and more after two or three months. She plans and executes well to loot people!
Techies are notorious for being ADD
so don't hold it against them. They have a lot of demands being made from a LOT of different directions...imagine having to appease probably 8 bosses and who knows how many MTs with unscheduled problems popping up all the time? You should call them and try not to think of it being as unprofessional or "just the way it is." It's one of those "until you walk in their shoes" kind of thing.

Ladies: Has anyone ever heard of Klaar Transcription? I started a PT job with them over 1 month ago. I submit timesheets for lines worked. So far I have only received 1 paycheck. I call their office numbers and no one will answer the phone. President of company said he would "wire" my check if I don't receive it in the mail. He is putting me off. Last PPE was 12/15/05. I am wondering about the integrity of this company. Anybody hear of them? I should have received a paycheck by now. Already called state labor department today. Any ideas out there?

I would like to get on with the hospital or possibly the company who handles their transcription.
I have been considering working locally instead of for a national or switching to another company from the company I currently work for. Since losing my initial primary account and having to switch to another account, my income has declined and it doesn't appear to be getting any better. Not sure why, it is not from my lack of working. I just can't seem to make the counts on this new account as I could on my previous account. I now do some editing on top of my transcription due to time restraints I cannot put in any more hours than I already do. Thanks for the input. My husband recently started working at this particular hospital. I am hoping he will be able to find out for me but no luck yet.

You are correct. Developed by a transcription company, but a division also lease its use to sm
facilities. I knew that, but had never encountered anyone who works with it in the real world who doesn't not work for the specific company that developed it. They keep us pretty much in the dark about that stuff.
anyway, when the platform is working well, it is not impossible to make over 300 lph. 350 would be rare, and depend a lot on formatting, what you are paid for and what you are not paid for.

Finding out options/information on more efficient ways of running transcription company.
Anyone have any advice on where one would start if one wants to upgrade their current transcription system? I am an MTSO whose company is growing and I have found that the current call in system is becoming congested as there are only 8 lines and I want to make the move to be internet based, but not quite sure where to begin finding out information about this or what sort of companies I would call to help me get this system in place. Can anyone offer some advice? Thanks in advance.

Accepted a job with a new company, gave two weeks notice to my old company..
Old company, let me go before two weeks was up. New company, said they were having trouble getting me set up and my equipment ready, but they would pay me while I waited. It's been a month, still no check from new company even though I was told it was "in the mail." I have no income and am at a loss.
I have a signed offer letter from the new company, contracts, etc. I applied for unemployment, but old company is saying I quit and technically I am currently employed with the new company! New company is not returning calls or answering email.
What should I do!?!?!?!

You don't want to work for this company. Call your current company and
tell them that you have decided against the new position and tell them that you would like to stay. It is cheaper for them to let you stay than to train someone new. A company who could be so tacky as the one you just spoke of is one you do not want to work for. You can rescind your resignation. If you are a good MT, they will be glad you did.
With my company, ICs use their own emails, employees have company email.

I was hired five months ago by a national straight out of school at 8 cpl. I think it just depends on your knowledge level and ability, and of course, what the company is willing to pay.
