me again about vertigo

Thanks for your responses.  I do not have much in the way of symptoms.   It is a long story but in October I had a mild stroke, no previous symptoms before that.  It was first misdiagnosed with vertigo in one ER.  ( my symptoms was severe vomitting, dizziness and weakness, like one of the posters had)Then a day later I went to another ER because I was worse and they did a CT I had a bleed.  After a month from work and therapy I got better, started typing again. The company I work for was great about it and I had only been working for a month with them before it happended.  I changed neurologists aned told him I get dizzy at times, and some times loose my balance but never fall.  He did the test one of the posters described.  The only symptom I have is a fullnes in my head and clogged ears and sometimes lightheaded when I go upstairs. He said I have benign vertigo.  He suggested I go to his office for therapy for 1/2 hour between the hours of 10 and 2.  Don't they know we work.  This would  go on for 8 weeks.  I just cannot do this.  It takes 1/2 to get there and back.  Like my daughter said if you were a teacher you could not pick up leave like that.  I was hoping I could do it on my own.

Has anyone ever had benign vertigo and
had to go for therapy.   If so what kind of therapy and was it successful.
Dizziness/vertigo -- sm

When I went to my doctor for dizziness/vertigo he told me that one of the most common indicators of heart attacks in women was a symptom of dizziness.   It did not turn out to be that but it alerted me to watch for simple symptoms that could indicate a larger problem.  I did have some fluid behind my TM's caused by allergies and Rhinocort Aqua nasal spray used at night helps me  a lot as the dizziness was the worse in the morning.  When in question check with the doctor.

Vertigo, over a year now.

Mine started LAST March, with an acute bout when waking up, completely out of the blue and horrible.  About 3 weeks prior I had a bad head cold.  I had the nystagmus, vomiting, and it is truly incapaciting.  I have seen the ENT who told me that BPPV never killed anyone.  Lot of help he was.  He prescribed a blood vessel dilator, stating it might help the blood supply to the inner ear region.   And Valium for when I am so nauseous all I want to do is sleep.  I have had about 3 very bad episodes this past year, which I take Bonnine to get me through the day.  It is impossible to work during those times.

Now, I have only have about 2 seconds of dizziness when I lay down and turn my head to the right.  It is mild, but definitely there.  I wonder if mine may be due to a cervicogenic pathology, all this sitting at the p.c., typing, ya know.  Thinking about seeing a chiropractor.
