Well, I love some Autocorrect features--best thing about Word-- and I backup *.acl file---so I never lose it. Just replace it in the Windows folder (copy and paste my newest backup *.acl file--which I copy once a day--into the Windows folder on the C:drive). takes less than a minute, never "lose" Autocorrect anyumore. For years I did, though, before I figured out where it was. Just search for *.acl on your computer and copy the file that comes up as owner.acl or whatever you named your computer-- and then put it on the desktop as the backup file, jsut make a folder or whatever, newest backup acl-- along with Normal.dot-- and copy these once a week onto a disk.
Is the 2003 demonstrably different or just quirky? Thx. nm

Sean Connery, Tom Petty (big TP nut), Brad Pitt is nice too. Tom Berenger too!
anyone have animals cute/quirky habits?
I live next to a manufactured lake, and there are dozens of ducks and birds hanging around there. My dog usually likes to go up to them or chase them. He also loves people, runs up to them too, very friendly and can be generally laid back. Although, when he comes across a stray feather lying on the ground, he will literally approach it like a mouse would a mouse trap, and then jump back about two or three feet, and then veer as far away around it as possible. This has been going on for a couple months, no idea why. Today, I picked up a feather and set him on my lap and brought it close to him and said "its okay" and right when I touched him with it, he squirmed, almost flipped completely in the air, and tore himself loose from his collar and ran far away from me (never does that anytime, sticks to me like glue), so now he walks around the lake like its a mine field, jumps and wimpers even if he touches a feather. The strangest thing in the world to me.
You are very, very funny! I love it! nm

Love these - Here's my funny for the day
I do cardiology, and I was transcribing for this doc who's fast and often absentminded. He dictated a patient whose last name started with H ...
... and then referred to him as Mr. Heart Failure. He did this three times throughout the dictation.
Turned out the guy had a diagnosis of heart failure, too, which made it even better!
I love that idea! Too funny! (nm)

I love you guys! Too funny!!!
Thanks for making me start the day with a good laugh.
Thatns funny!! I love it when they have days like that...
makes my day more interesting!
That's why I love working from home. Too funny. sm
I helped my son out with his paper route the other morning because he was sick with a temp of 102. I'm walkng around, almost done with the papers, heading home, birds are singing, sun is starting to shine and then, ALL OF A SUDDEN, VAROOOOOOOM!!! About 4 cars go whizzing by, almost running me over, oblivious to their surroundings, obviously late for work again. Checked my watch and it was 5:45 a.m. 6 o'clock shift running late again. Can't get their Dunkin Donuts and make it to work on time unless they drive like a bat out of h...l.
I just laughed and laughed and thought, "Well geeeee, it stinks to be you doesn't it? Now why don't you take time out to fill up with GASOLINE!" HEE HEE!
I don't know why people are in such a hurry lately. Why don't they just set their alarms 15 minutes earlier for Pete's sake? I was taking my older son to work one morning and was at a red light at a very busy, accident prone, intersection. The light turned green. I always take a quick look left and right before going through the green light and I didn't even have time to glance to the left before the "A" behind me laid on his horn. Of course then I got funny and drove like a granny, just to make him mad. He ended up finding space to pass on the right and he gave me the finger.
I love the Asians, because they TRY the hardest, and it usually comes out funny. nm

Love Dr. Oz! He's funny, knowledgable, and makes lots of sense. nm

That's funny, I *love* ER's. Also Ops, procedure notes. Can't stand anything LONGGGGGGGG. n

I LOVE Carson. He walks a fine line on flamboyant but so funny, he's forgiveable.
Well sort of over the top but not distracting to the point of making me ill.
He is adorable. sm
Beyonce had to be lip-synching though. I just love Taylor.
I LIKE THESE NEW FEATURES!
Especially the colors! It's fun to experiment!
He sounds adorable!! nm

what features do you lose?
I think it's the program I want but what would I lose? TIA
The same features are all there but in different places because
of the new ribbon. If you were productive in an older version, you would be just as productive in 2007 once you learn your way around the new layout. Almost all of my old keyboard shortcuts still work in 2007 so I don't fool with the ribbon all that much. I toggle it off most of the time because it's so huge and takes up too much room on my screen.
Are you sure your trial version isn't fully functional? Maybe your trial time has expired?
Yes. Agree. Adorable and addicting. nm
nm
Aren't they adorable?! If my shih
tzu leaves any time soon (all dogs go to Heaven), I want a Lhasa or a pom:)
I think Kellie is adorable and charming. nm

You can set up IT to work like SH, but then you lose some of the features. (sm)
I switched from SH to IT, wasn't sure I liked it at first, and there's still a few things I don't like, but I'm sticking with IT.
Choosing from a list isn't as bad as it sounds, because you can use the same abbreviation for more than one thing, which is nice. It also has a "finish it for me" feature where you start to type something and it will suggest the rest of the sentence or whatever, and just hitting a key will type it in for you!

AutoCorrect and AutoText are two different features. Which one... sm
is causing the problem? Both features save to different files unless you are formatting an AutoCorrect with italics, bold, or more than one line, which is also saved to the normal.dot (normal.dotm in 2007). Plain text AutoCorrects are in the acl file.
And baby girls look adorable with earrings!!
x
Then that makes the "wonderful" features of IT worthless.
IT takes so long to get used to using that increase is production you may eventually get is not enough to cover for the money you lose while trying to learn the program. If you have to memorize everything, you might as well use Autocorrect.
Shorthand is much better and easier to use.
no, i don't use template features. use hypersend to send back. nm

if the child is adorable and has charisma, i would take him to a professional modeling agency.
if they see something in him, they will pay to train him and do the photos for free as they will make money on him. if they aren't willing to do this or they want to charge you, i would think he is just like millions of other children, adorable but not so much that an agency would hire him as is. most models are "discovered" because of their charisma/beauty and don't go through the costs involved to get photos, etc. the agencies do it for them because they see potential.

Word AutoText, AutoCorrect, and Spellchecker, and other Word features
I have just started working for a company that uses Word (my previous experience was HTML-based and had its own autotext and spellchecker).
I have never bought medical spellcheckers nor Instant Text, especially that I have learned a lot from posters here that one could use the autocorrect feature for long words/phrases/paragraphs/templates. I have heard of people saying autocorrect was not meant to be used for such.
I have been browsing some features of shortcuts in Word (using the Assistant), and have discovered that it has AutoText. I tried it by highlighting a whole document (canned procedured), then hit Alt+F3, assigned a code, and voila! I have a template that readily inserts into an open Word document by typing the code and hitting Enter.
Also, I have learned that I can insert empty fields (for variables in my templates like BP/HR/RR/Temp values by hitting Ctrl+F9, then when I have inserted the autotext for a template with such empty fields, I can readily jump from one field to the next (to fill them up with values) by hitting F11 (or Shift+F11 to go to previous empty field).
We do know that many dictators want us to type verbatim even for running sentences, so that I have found the Spelling and Grammar checker feature of Word quite cumbersome. I discovered tonight that I could use just the spellchecker feature by clicking on Tools > Customize, then under Categories, select Tools; under Commands, select Spelling. I dragged that onto my tool bars so I can do a quick spellcheck. Cool thing was, the previous documents I have made with new drug names, etc., which I have spellchecked using a non-Word program, were automatically included in its database (so I do not have to re-enter them as I begin to utilize this feature). Drawback: I could not make a shortcut key for this (have to use the mouse again!)
Then I made my OWN keyboard shortcut for autocorrect by going to Tools>Customize>Keyboard (click on button then another window appears), Under Categories, choose Tools; under Commands, choose AutoCorrect. Under Press new shortcut key, assign the shortcut you want (F key, Alt or Ctrl + desired key), then click on Assign button.
Well, that is all I can share for now. I have learned a lot from posters here, and I hope I have added some info, especially for Word users like me who can be categorized as average.javascript:editor_insertHTML('text','');
javascript:editor_insertHTML('text','');
You're funny. Ignorant, but funny.
I don't live in NYC and I don't work out of NYC and I make wayyyyy more than $23 an hour, SandyGIRL.
I'm an employee at the largest national and I make anywhere from $58K to $64K a year.
You don't have to believe anyone but you show your ignorance by telling those of us who make that money that we're full of it.
Hahaha
Sorry, that was not an ASR funny, just a regular ole dictation funny. LOL! nm

love, love, love the show. hate american idol. this show is for real.
the only reason i entertained watching it was because of mark burnett and as usual he has such genious casting and editing. btw, don't know who anything about "metal" music but these performers make me like it. love marty and jd as performers. HATE JESSICA. susie is so nice and so emotional. it seems they all support each other and enjoy each others skills. regarding ty and bob marley, ty was excellent but he also lucked out on the song! bob marley was genious too and his music is very easy to listen to. i don't like 3/4 of what the others are given to sing but their performances make me love the music. dave navarro shines on this show, very gracious for the most part and letting the contestants down easy when they have to leave. he was great last night with brandon (?). sweet, sweet show. i am so impressed with everyone involved.
Yep that's it, 4000. Love, love love the zoom
But I feel like a dork typing...every time I try to type But it is coming out as Nut!
What a funny, funny reply. LOL
You are a genius! I am sorry you are ugly and fat. I feel bad for you, but what I can I do to help? Go to a plastic surgeon.
now that's funny, true, but very funny

I love it too - love doing my nails 5 hours a day and staying awake
Love NOT getting paid while sitting doing my nails too. It's a real turn on.
I tell all my friends to try it -- sit in front of your computer while you have no money to pay your rent and instead do your nails, you get a real buzz down in the pit of your stomach.
Also LOVE LOVE ESCRIPTION and make good money but...
Can I ask how you sit there for 8 hours. Lately, I'm having a motivation problem. When I focus, I can rack up the lines, but lately, I get so easily distracted. My mind wanders and I struggle to get my lines. Any tips on how you stay productive who do you work for?? I work for Transcend.
People either love it or hate it. I personally love it
but I know a lot of people say you cannot make any money on it and will not work on it. I do okay. I'm obviously not getting rich but I am making a living. I found it easier than Dictaphone and faster such in downloading and uploading job and you only have to log on one system and not like Dictaphone where you have to log onto the VPN and then log onto the program. It's always worth a try, but yes, the biggest complaint I hear is that no one can make a living and the cpl isn't that great.
I went back in house and love it. I love not being
secluded. I was working in my PJs, less organized and feel much better now that I get up and dress for work and see people (even those in traffic aren't so bad anymore). I find that I have more of a life now, and my family says that I spend more time with them now.
Working at home served its purpose for a long time; I was ready to go out into the world again now that I have no little ones at home.
BD WONG! I love him! I love all CSI and Law and Orders!
I am so addicted. I actually schedule my job and family around the shows LOL.
Love love love my chair
The arms can be lowered so they won't be in your way, I don't know about the tilt limiter. But I bought my off ebay about 6 years ago and can't do without it. No I do not think you can find another chair that even compares to the aeron, changed my working life completely, no sore back or butt. You won't regret it, but you will if you go for a cheap imitation.
LOL. I love it. I also love the song sm
I wouldn't take nothing for my journey now. Miss the Happy Goodmans!
Repeat after me: I love my job, I love my job. :) nm

You can love a job and still love being home! sm
I got into medical transcription for many reasons. Yes, one was that I wanted to be home with my children, another was that I wanted to be in the medical field, and yet another was this just fits me. Medical terminology and grammar are two things that have always come easily to me. So, this fits. I can work early, early mornings and late nights when they are asleep. Also during afternoon naps. Yeah, doesn't leave a heck of a lot of time for myself, but THAT is a sacrifice I am willing to make, leaving my kids for someone else to raise/care for all day wasn't.
I do not love money but I love what it can buy
for me. I work 4 days a week now and was not bringing home what I wanted every 2 weeks, for some reason that is at least 1,000.00. I just decided to turn up the speed and put my mind to doing at least 3000 lines a day and figured by that should get what I want in the pay line. Worked well for me. I tell people if you want to talk with me call before I go to work, do not let outside influences bother me during my hours. Other than a bathroom break, glass of water, here for the straight 8.
I love Google and I love MTs
Okay, who in their right mind would not only discuss but have passionate opinions about hyphens and apostrophes? I love it!
Anyway, in googling grammar rules I found numerous references that two days' time would not but hyphenated but when used as a modifier like two-day history, it would be.
I remember telling an OB nurse friend of mine about fretting over 38 weeks pregnancy and whether the hyphen belonged in there and she just laughed and said she thinks she would get the point either way. Well harumph!
So funny!
nm
LOL!! That is funny. nm
