I just put down an entire floor in bamboo - got rid of carpeting everywhere but the bathrooms....I even put it in the kitchen - 1500 sq. ft of gorgeous pecan-colored bamboo.
Bamboo is a grass that grows in the tropics (I live in the tropics, so to speak). Just read about bamboo flooring via Google search engine. This way, if someone floods you - it's a lot better than regular wood flooring with flooding - as long as you get up the water immediately. *S*
