Not sure how it works with cooking, but I can't think why it wouldn't do just fine.

Mayo Clinic
They have run that ad in "Advance" for years. I had a friend who applied for it and they told her they were just "making up a list". I don't know if that has changed or not. Also, to work at home, you have to live in the Phoenix area-- no way for me! It used to be nice when I moved there in 1964 with large citrus groves, beautiful clean air, etc., but now with the traffic, high crime, illegal aliens, gangs, road rage, shootings every day, etc., it is just like living in LA. If that appeals to you, go for it, but not me! I have a horse and used to enjoy riding along the canals and cotton fields, etc. Now it is just wall to wall houses about 3 feet apart. I got out of there in 1997 and not a moment too soon!. They are trying to make the rest of Arizona just like it and ruining everything, unfortunately. It used to be a beautiful place, but not any more. Besides, all the Californians are moving here with their money and are pushing housing prices out of sight.
Mayo in Scottsdale
They just make a list-- in case they ever have an opening. They have been running their ad for years.
Mayo Clinic
I know for a fact that all of the Mayo System clinics here in Minnesota run ads just to collect resumes. They will lie and tell you that the opening has been filled, but I have an insider who tells me what is really going on and you also see the ad continue to run. There are no job openings. Not nice.
Spheris/Mayo Clinic
Anyone with info on Spheris and/or Mayo Clinic Scottsdale? I've been an IC with MQ for 10 years and it's time for a change. Need to convert to employee status. Want to still work at home. Mayo may offer that after a while. Spheris is at home all the time. Anyone know cost for health insurance with Spheris for employee and spouse and child? Thanks for any info!
if this is about the Mayo Clinic - then forget about it - sm
The Mayo Clinic in Scottsdale has been running an ad for transcriptionists for almost three years now. NO LIE!
He is a Mayo Clinic doctor - he does a ton...
.....
Health department here said straight mayo. SM
Slathered it on, put on a shower cap and left it for hours. Not only were the lice gone, but our hair was so soft and shiny and conditioned!
As a former supervisor of Mayo's Transcription Dept.
I can say that, yes, they continually run ads whether they are hiring or not. HR keeps resumes on file and refers to them as they need to fill a slot. Mayo is not the easiest place to work. Incoming MTs have to go through pretty rigorous training and you have to have 3 passing QAs before you can work out of the home. Many of the dictators are horrible due to their very thick accents or racing dictation methods. It's been a while since I've worked there, but when I did, I know that their word processing system was rather cumbersome and required a lot of mouse work and their Expander wasn't very good either.
Why hasn't Mayo clinic signed on with a large
Like Spheris or Medquist??? What is so special about them?
Mayo Clinic in AZ has an ad for in-house MT in Advance Mag, $19/hr base pay. sm
Plus shift diff and bonus, plus $1000 sign-on bonus, and relocation $. What a great offer if it's true.
I've tried mayo cooking fish - DELISH (sm)

When I worked at Mayo the desks had the capability of raising up. The keyboard,
so you could stand and type. It was a refreshing change. I really liked the set up. Mayo paid a chunk of change for those desks and there were over 90 MTs in our office.
Search The Deborah Heart and Lung Center, Mayo Clinic or other big institutions for research. nm

Abacus is not free. It is $20 but worth it. You can download a trial version free which does not h
I have used this for years and have compared to Sylvan, Word, and MP Count, etc. When you have it set to count every character, bold, shift, tab, etc. It is great and always higher than the others. Now if you are wanting gross lines like in Word then no it won't be as high because Word counts blanks lines and Abacus counts a line only if there is a character on it. There is also two places to check for it to count the Headers/Footers. If you have the FREE version then it must be the trial or a very old version so you don't have all the features and functions.
Free? As in, free trial? Otherwise, I don't think you'll find a spellcheck software that's

free? We are not *free* - what planet R U on?
Free? Liberal? You know nothing about me......I'm a 4th generation American so don't get up in my face......
We have a bad bad reputation today....and we do NOT HAVE 60 ALLIES/COUNTRIES BACKING US UP IN IRAQ....you better open up your eyes to the REAL stats. Perhaps in 2003 we had 60 allies/countries backing us up....NAME 60 today. I can name maybe 10 countries.......
You are terribly off-base.........even the soldiers have spoken up stating *unfortunately, this has become OUR vietnam* -
here's where you might think of beginning...iraqi veterans against the war......not a liberal website by any stretch of the imagination..

AVG free
I used McAfee, Norton, Panda, etc, all types of viruses and worms slipped through and caused my computer to crash. I now use AVG free edition, free upgrade every day and free check every day of my computer, that I set at at 4:00 a.m. If in doubt try www.worldstart.com, lots of computer geeks there and they will answer your questions about computers, etc on their message board. They have helped me a few times with reliable, good information about many different problems on my computer. Good luck.

Nothing is free!!
My family is in the restaurant business and I can cook like a maniac .. so screw the free meal stuff!! I am over 50 .. look great for my age .. make very good money .. have no bills .. and though my daughter lives here she is 32 and wishes I would meet someone and cut her a break!! I was a nurse in another life. Do I want to take care of someone whose body is in worse shape than mine .. no; do I want to cook for someone who makes a mess I have to clean just because the moron breathes .. no; do I want to hear the constant whining, burping, farting, dribbling, and all that other geezer stuff .. a thousand times no!! So, I find a guy who is 10 years younger than me and he is crazy about me and likes my old body, and we get along great .. but I have issues with the 10 years and I feel I am more than a wild piece of keister and nothing is free .. and that is on a good day!! LOL! Oh, yes, and he is cute as a button too .. I must be over the edge. Maybe not

Thanks.
I don't think there is another free one
There are different footpedals available though, and not all are interchangeable between transcription modules. I have two pedals, one that I ordered to use with Express Scribe that connects via serial port, and then I got a new computer that did not have the serial port and I also began using the Olympus module, and so I ordered the Olympus pedal, which has two connector ends that you can switch so that you can connect via either serial port or USB.
I am not sure why the pedals are not interchangeable (some of them can be used with more than one module, but I just do not know how to tell the difference other than ordering the pedal based on recommendations from the software manuf. of the transcription module).
I also have had a problem with the Olympus pedal that started after I began loading .wav files into it. It is made to be used with .dss files, but plays .wav and other file types as well, but when I have been away from the computer for a while or when I have closed the programs and reopen them, I often times will have to reach behind my tower and unplug the pedal and then plug it back in. I am not sure what has caused the problem though because for the first couple of months using the Olympus I never had to do that.

...or you can do it for free (sm)
by eating less and exercising more. I'm not being a smarty, but this method had me from 235.5 pounds to the 119 pounds I am now, so I'm just speaking from experience. I even kept it off through a pregnancy because I learned how to eat regular food in an intelligent way.
These weight loss plans do NOT offer the secret code. It's within the person who wants to lose weight!
I'm getting it for free
We bought a couple of new HP computers this fall and we get a a copy for free, which we should get within a couple of weeks. We will probably install in on a spare computer to see what it is like before putting it on our new ones. Hopefully the software that we use for work will be compatible with it!
Do you want to pay for it or want for free?
Do you want to pay for it or want it for free?
No fee; it is free
There is no fee; you must have clicked the wrong button. I'm sending the signatures myself (out of my pocket) to DC. Try again; no fee to sign it. It is free. http://www.ipetitions.com/petition/medrecords/
I use AVG Free.
I bought a refurbished hard drive and loaded microsoft office 2003. So many companies are not allowing Vista or 2007, so I felt this was the way to go. I have had good luck so far and a great running system.
I use AVG Free also. I also have several other
programs for adware, malware, and spyware. I usually search Kim Komando's site for things like that. I find that she is pretty much on the mark with her choices, recommendations, etc. When I hear that I "need" to install something, I figure if I don't know what it will do or not do, then I just leave it alone. A good running computer is a happy computer. Happy Thanksgiving to all.
Not OP but I have done this for free too
I go in through the IRS's website and select Free E-File and go from there. You can choose from several different software programs. I have used H&R Block for the past 3 years this way and have never paid a dime.
AVG Free
This is an anti-virus program that has been recommended by all my "tech gurus" including Hiwired.com -- its free and comes HIGHLY recommended.
Hey a free one!
I'll check that out too. Thanks!
free
I think it expires in 60 or 90 days. Then you have to pay
Free help
One of the best anti-virus programs out there is AVG 8.0, and you can download it for free. Combined with Spy Sweeper by Webroot, your PC will be completely protected. Ad Aware is another good one.
Today I have been poring over job listing sites looking at the openings posted, and I picked up several viruses. There is so much junk out there....
RE: Free
They will replace it for free. I didn't know that. You just contact them and they will replace it. I just kept buying them.
?? A free AV that did that...sm
..would hardly be likely to sell its "paid" version to anyone. Nothing like that could go unnoticed by the technical community and their reputation would be trashed instantly.
AVG supports its free version through the sales of its paid version and offers the free version as a service to the computing community. In doing so, their free version has a very good reputation. I recommend the paid version simply because it is a much more complete package of protection.
Are you looking for free ones?
Googling found one that's $18 for a CD manual, but I didn't stumble across anything free.
free software....
I guess I'm just ditzy.... but what is all this about the software... how do I access this?? Thanks for your patience!
free software
Oh - gotcha. Thanks.... but what is everyone going on about the new features?? I'm still lost on that -
You can try ShortCuts for free....sm

Since ADVANCE is free, there would
be little immediate impact if we cancel our subscriptions. Contact the advertisers and express your displeasure. They're the ones who provide the income stream for ADVANCE. They need to know that the people they're trying to reach are displeased and that their companies are associated with an extremely unpopular position.
I use Free MP Count
A long time ago I used Sylcount, then I used DocuCount on my old computer but when I upgraded to a new computer/software, I had to find something else. I compared Abacus and MP Count and I, personally, was happier with the consistent counts I got with MP Count. Also, Joe Vann supports his product well - even the free version! It makes for a very professional Invoice/billing statement that I use for my own local account.

Why pay at all? Grisoft's AVG is free.
McAfee was good back in the olden days of computing. I haven't used them since then. Norton is OK. Honestly, I dislike Norton because it's annoying and expensive.
I use Grisoft's AVG for antivirus, Sygate Personal Firewall, and AdAware/Spyboy Search & Destroy for spyware. All free. All work great.
You know -- I'm free to work for however
many companies I want.
If I made $50K a month from 5 companies and you only make but $500 from 1 company -- that's my reward for being resourceful, for working hard, for doing the work that is offered when it is offered.
Nice thing about this country is you are free -- free to be as rich as you want to be or as poor as you want to be!! I love it!!
