I read a book about a month ago about home remedies. Of course, being 43, I looked up remedy for hot flashes. Of course, cut down on cafeine (booooo) and drink ALOE VERA juice. I promise, I have not flashed in three weeks. It's expensive (over $7 a gallon here in MS, but its well worth it.) Just a cup a day. Also it said not to take hot, hot showers, but lukewarm, (minimum steam), and that helps. I only have to apply my makeup once a day now.....

My gyn told me he has a patient who is pushing 80 who still calls him complaining about hot flashes. Do they ever go away? I haven't a clue. I'm anti hormonal therapy replacement and stayed away from it due to fear of what else the HRT can cause in a bad way. I got thru menopause (from 42-52) but still have hot flashes in the night while sleeping. I'm not near 80, subtract nearly 30 years from that. Hope everyone gets through it as well as I did.

Oh, my mother-in-law had told me it takes 10 years from beginning to end (hot flashes began for me at 42) and she was right, in my mind.

and had hysterectomy in 1999. I am 53 now and still have horrible hot flashes. It is so embarrassing. I can be shopping or whatever and all of a sudden my face is beat red and sweat is DRIPPING off my forehead into my eyes, my mouth, just a real mess. I finally stopped having the night sweats , thanks to Estroven DS, but it has not helped the horrible sweats during the day. I truly wish you luck and hope you can find something to relieve your flashes. I call mine, my own personal summer.
