I have been submitting resumes this week. Two companies responded via E-mail stating my resume looked great and they would call me the next day and they have not. Anyone else experiencing this problem currently? TIA

Dont you think some of the better work and ASR work goes to the newbies they are hiring lately. I
am sure it goes somewhere because I will be finished with all jobs and the next morning there is ASR work from 14 hours ago. Odd right. Where was it. Probably in another pool so we dont get it and others do. I am pooled for ASR so I would have gotten it but didnt.

I don't think thehospital I work at is hiring.
We are over staffed right now. They treated me like gold when there was lots of work. But now that the work load is low, we are not worth as much.
They opened up a new surgery center and it is its own entity as they hired their own MTs, thus that took away about 30% of our work.

Yes we are out of work but did you ever stop to think what kind of people they are hiring to flood
the accounts. I happen to know they AINT good and the blanks keep rolling in and are passed on to the hospitals because Amherst QA does not fill them in for whatever reason. Probably too stupid to understand the hard STUFF. I do QA and I know this is true.

Talk about an advertisement for Doc Shuttle. Sorry, but there are a lot of die hard docs out there that still use tapes and paper schedules and I have several of them. Plus the gals in the office do not have time to print. To start out you gotta take what comes your way. Besides I like getting out of the house to deliver, visit and great write off for the mileage. And a great write off. But to each their own. But you are talking about a lot of out of pocket expenses to start up. Just me.

We should start identifying ourselves by where we work, tier and what area we work in. I continue to have steady work, same old stuff, and overtime this weekend. People keep mentioning running out of work and no jobs available - I have not seen it yet.

I have to take lots of breaks. I work a little then
cook breakfast and load the dishwasher. I work some more and then do some more chores. Sometimes I do a hobby for about 15 minutes, or I prep dinner, work in the yard if the weather is nice. It seems like I'm working 12 hours/day that way, but I'm not and I'm getting housework done too, which tended to pile up when I tried working in 4 hour stretches.
I also try to make a game out of it sometimes. I reward myself for working 2 hours straight - maybe read, work on hobby, something just for me, not something that needs doing.
Well, I looked & looked but did not find it. Maybe tomorrow!

I'm 120 now from previous 150. I know that doesn't sound like much, but I just make 5 foot 2 if I stand up perfectly straight. So I guess I've lost quite a bit of "butter."
I do have tons of butter on hand to bake with and I bake all the time, but I don't eat the stuff that I make. I feed it to my tall skinny hubby and all 4 tall skinny kids. It's just NOT fair! 
BBQ, slaw, cornbread, ham, casseroles, lots of veggies, chicken pastry, lots of desserts!! BIG fami

I'm an employee at the largest national and I make anywhere from $58K to $64K a year.

and the pay is excellent, good benefits, but I understand the supervisor is a total nightmare. Lies, talks about employees to other employees, extremely intimidating and condescending, basically covers her behind by lying about employees...makes life miserable for her MTs. I believe it would be an excellent company to work for if it was not for this problem. But wanted some feed back on things others have heard.

What have you heard about the transcription supervisor. I have been looking around and don't want to get into something really bad.

It seems like ALL accounts are under control very, very well. Especially on the weekends, the work usually runs out for all accounts! Why do they keep doing this? They have cut out their only benefit of direct deposit because they don't have the SE positions anymore. Why are they doing this?

I am looking for IC work and have applied to many MT services in response to ads posted here. So far, nothing. Is the job market that competetive? In the past, I have usually heard back right away but not so now. This is frustrating.
