excuse the typos (no message)

How long before they give you the boot?

When starting out entry level at a company, what is the norm for probationary period?  I worked partime as an IC MT for a year for a friend, did inhouse TX for 7+yrs for specialty MD's office. All this and never had a problem.

Now that I am doing IC work with a national, it seems that everything I thought I knew about grammar and terminology couldn't hold a candle to the expectations of the nat'l companies.  Now I am begining to get self conscious about every little thing to the point where it takes me a rediculous amount of time to get it done.

It's not like I'm making huge mistakes or anything.  For the most part I do have my terminology and grammar down......its just the little things.  For example, I never knew that there was a difference in the way the phrase 'follow up' should be written-as two words, hyphenated or as one single word.  Didn't know that it depends on if it is used as a noun, adjetive, verb, etc.

I like the company I work for, but man do I feel inadequate.

Oh, boy! Sorry for the typos...long day! nm
.
Excuse, this has been a long day,
hope you understand, years ago told only the patient and now if the name said, told to put in the patient's real name.
Never said people didn't have typos we are all human BUT the mistakes I stated were NOT typos

I probably QA where you work..hmmmmm

I asked a senior citizen the secret to happy marriage = "Chose your fights wisely."

Bucky might get the boot . .
Simon was right - that hair was just bad! The stylists are doing them wrong.
Chris got the boot.
A very talented man; dont' fret his life has been changed forever, he will be a very, very rich man, and deserving of it.  He is a bald rocker?  I cannot get behind that, if you are a rocker you have to have hair.  He has such an ego that when Seqrist blurted it out, he was shocked.  I feel sorry for his overweight wife and her insecurities.  At one point earlier in the AI season,  he did a song that he felt was proper, about trying to be loyal to his wife, and all things associated with sudden stardom.  You guys take this far to seriously, the American people vote, and we have only been wrong once, when Rubin beat out Clay, I could not believe that, still don't. I was glad to see him go, he needed to be taken down at least a notch.  He got too confident, and last week and this week, he got beaten out.  Get over it.
How far does it get into the boot process? sm
A bootup problem always suggests something related to the hard drive, but there's stuff that happens during the boot before the hard drive comes into the picture. Do you see anything at all on your screen when you turn the computer on?
When does it occur? On boot up? downloading? other?

How can I set Shorthand so that it opens when I boot up?

At too low a line rate and probably as an IC to boot. nm

I had a dual boot up setup. sm
I had 1 monitor,
2 keyboards,
2 mouse, 2 tower PC.
It had a button to push to switch over to the other PC.

On 1 PC was their platform and I needed to still access my PC for all my reference stuff I had created.

So on their PC, somehow it was set up where both PCs, my DSL, the internet to use Google and email

Sounds cumbersome, but it was okay, set up at the same workstation, did not have to shift chairs, the keyboards were kinda on top of each other or just in front of the other. Used the same monitor for both PCs.
Sometimes it is very difficult to boot up and click on that first report (sm)
every morning, but I'm always grateful that I am able to be at home to do this job. I recently contemplated getting back out in the regular workforce, but a couple of weeks ago I had reality smack me in the face.

My daughter has to be dropped off an hour early at school 3 days a weeks for a choral group she participates in. It's quite rare that I have be the taxi as my husband leaves for work early enough to take her, and the school is on his way to work.

One morning, he had to be to work quite early, so the job fell to me. It was dark, cold, and rainy with spitting snow that morning. As I sat in the Jeep warming it up and waiting for my daughter to drag herself out of the house, my brain was screaming NEVER, EVER DO I WANT TO DO THIS EVERY MORNING. NO WAY! NO HOW! PLEASE LET THIS BE OVER SOON.!

I wanted to kiss my house when I got back into the warmth and light, I kid you not. After working at home for 14 years, I am ill-suited to deal with the weather, traffic, and people woes the 9-to-5'ers deal with every day.

Thank you God for blessing me with the skills and intelligence to be an MT.
Here's one site that tells you how you can dual boot Vista and XP.
http://www.ehow.com/how_2194816_pre-loaded-no-vista-dvd.html

You'll find lots more with a Google search.
Oh bullshit, that is such a lame excuse. The same lame excuse that has been
time someone doesn't agree with offshoring.  Of course I have bills that need to be paid...EVERYONE DOES!  And, guess what sweet cheeks, I have a job and it's with a company that doesn't offshore!  Wah...wah...wah all you want, but this site does not support offshoring private health information and if you don't like it, run somewhere else because there are a lot of us here that DON'T agree with you!
SORRY about the typos!!!! nm

Typos
maybe you had better check your own postings for typos before you pick on someone elses..."so take YOU typos and whining to b a blog..." hmmm. easy to make a mistake, isn't it??? LOL.
Typos
I use spell check all the time, it is part of being a professional.  Except, of course, for the test, lol.  Obviously, the poster who mixed-up "their" and "there" needs to start using it or, at the least, proofread their posts.
take YOU typos?

Sorry for typos....
I have been very upset today..!!
Typos are everywhere

Yeah, the ditmo that typed the cover spelled it wrong, what is priceless, they fixed the cover of the book, but they left the webpage incorrect.

Typos are everywhere.  You will love this one.  At the corner store where I live there is a plastic sign that has been there for years.  The sign reads, "Florida Lottory" and it has a pink flamingo on it.  It was made by the Florida Lottery Commission.

Right next to the incorrectly spelled, "Lottory,"  they have a poster plastered in the window that reads, "The Florida Lottery has provided over 10 Billion dollars towards education."

Now either that money was not put to good use . . . or someone is lying.    oh boy.

Uh..."take *you* typos???LOL

Now what were you saying about "simple typos?"

sorry for typos. I usually get paid
extra for those at work  but this was JMO and I didn't QA myself
I know there are typos. I'm not QA and I didn't

proof.   My post is a bit disjointed, but I think I got my point across.  I tried to represent both sides fairly.

I'm tired - typos ... (sm)
I meant that the government is NOT on our side.

AAMT is not on our side, either - since they came on the scene, conditions for MTs have plummeted. A very few people there have gotten very rich off of MTs, especially newbies. And now AAMT seems to be getting involved with India. (Why am I not surprised?)
Please overlook typos. I am on my way
to bed and didn't proof anything. I appreciate that thanks.
Do you ever catch your typos?
there wages - ?
Sorry for the typos in the above post
Sorry for the typos in the above post -- still need new eye glasses and I am still very livid.

Sorry about the typos in my previous message!
I am so livid with the 'suits' I can't even type straight, lol - anyone else there feel that management should only include someone who actually did the dirty deed of being an MT before the they think that they can 'manage us'?! I love the companies where the owners are previous MTs - now there is a company that is run intelligently in my opinion and the company that you would want to trust and put your efforts in.
Not the typos it's misspelling "niece" that bugs.

Yikes--and now I can't spell anymore obviously--sorry for the typos!

my PS makes typos but I wouldn't trade my PS
because my PS (production supervisor) is the most communicative and we all love this one....typos, schmypos - who cares as long as they get their point(s) across to us.  They are not MTs nor typists.
True, but typos and minor mistakes aside... SM
I is a MT and I can post without sounding like I be uneducated.
