I assumed it meant a PR setback--people aren't going to be as gung-ho for EMR if they start worrying about viruses and unsecured networks.

Great article on new VA security breach. Down at the bottom they tie it in with Obama's hope for EMR, with a "whoops, not so fast!" slant. I'd love to know what MT company had this on their watch also.

I don't understand how this is a setback for EMR?
Nowhere does it say that there was anything wrong with EMR. It said the transcription service was using computers that did not follow the guidlines for protecting the data...
I take it to mean that they were using unsecured networks, etc.
