In Reply to: New EMR system for Doctors Hospital (sm) - Nano

I find this interesting as I am a nursing student. The hospital where I am training has EMR but also a hard copy chart, which includes all the doctor's progress notes and any typed assessments like emergency room consult, H&P, etc.among other things like med lists and labs, etc. Everyone kind of laughingly says that doctors will never use the EMR or that the ones who will use it are in preschool right now. The electronic record basically includes every action that the nurse carries out for patient, including progress notes. It also does include labs. It's really pretty cool, with drop down boxes that include EVERYTHING. Anyway, I'm sure this things differ but I also think there will be a need for the typed assessments as well for some time to come
