Bush bashing
Administrator-- could we please have all the Bush bashing placed on the political board where it belongs????
Don't turn this into a Bush bashing
nm
Where the heck are you paying 5 bucks
What does that have to do with what was being talked about. How is bashing Bush going to change the gas prices that he has nothing to do with.
Millions others wish Bush would be outsourced too, as evidenced by the poll. Bush = 1st Class moron
Always comes down to the bucks, they can sugarcoat but is the bucks!

gallon a day sm
If you worked for me, I would have you flag the report, as this will follow the patient forever if not correct. Some will sign anything. I once had an ESL dictate, "The patient drinks one and one-half six can beer per day." I am not a mathematician, could be one and one-half six packs but I am not about to "label" anyone. There are "alcoholics" who inherit the disease and there are "drunks" who will drink anything and keep on doing it even when told to stop for their own health. Give people a break, you wouldn't want your family "labeled". The disease itself is punishment itself. Those who stop are just as good as you and I, they had an allergy of the body and a desire of the mind, such as one would have for chocolate, etc., so don't sit in judgement, that's God's job. If someone has stopped, give them a high five, not a label. Just my two cents.
Tell me about it at 2.79 a gallon in gas.
I thought the same thing about age discrimination.
I am not and was not bashing her and all that. sm
I was just trying to vent with colleagues over some of my frustrations. I didn't call her names, nor did I suggest that she is a bad person in any way. My only complaint with her is that she never admits she is wrong and never says I am sorry. But that was yesterday and this is today. I have vented and I'm fine. I really didn't mean to stir up such a hornet's nest. I have no ill will or whatever. I just sometimes feel that there is a lot of talk about professionalism, but sometimes it is just talk.
I never worked for Signal, but I love MDI, and I do not think, as some have suggested, that she goes around deliberately overhiring, nor do I think she is nuts. She may be a bit eccentric, but we all are, I suppose, in our own way. If nothing else, she is a good businesswoman, and that just wouldn't make sense to deliberately cause so many MTs to be miserable with no work. I have to assume there is some kind of plan in the works. I do believe she cares about the MTs and making sure there is enough work.
I wish this thread would be deleted -- it was just a frustrated plea for a sympathetic "ear," but now has turned into some meanspirited bashing, which I never wanted.
My apologies to all for being a part of it in any way
You most certainly WERE bashing.
Otherwise you would not have come on a public message board and posted what you did. It was rude and unprofessional and as I said in another post, I hope she finds out who you are and FIRES you. How ungrateful you are.
I don't know why all the bashing sm
on this board when against people who have done this for years and years. If a company calls you to ASK you to do a stat or whatever, you can always say no. I have done MT almost 40 years and I am not yet 60....will be soon. It is the way the business is.
The only way to get out of this is to work in-house and there are not many of those jobs left. Personally for the money that most in-house jobs pay, I would rather work for the MTSO at home.
Not everybody who does MT has that spouse with the second income and they have to work and do what they have to do. My hubby and I have made it work for 36 years. Kids are now grown and gone and have homes and careers of their own and never suffered. My husband and I worked it so that, most of the time, if one was working the other wasn't so the kids didn't have to have a babysitter. There were times when we did use babysitters, etc but we tried our best not to.
There shouldn't be "bashing" on either end BUT, I believe there are many MTs that don't have years of experience that dont' understand this is the business. You have to work when the work is there.
Keep doing what you are doing and you wont' have to worry about work. I never have had to in all the years I have done MT except for the usual holiday type slow downs. Even with all the Mt going to India, etc, I think there is always still going to be a place for MTs with lots of experience. Just my opinion.
$2.39/gallon - Philadelphia
Here's my take (I'm not in the mood for bashing, either!)
I enjoy belonging to AAMT because they keep me informed about what is going on in the industry. I live in a rather rural area and we do have a small component chapter in our area which I also like, as it helps me stay connected with people in this profession in my particular area (networking). Our meetings are not held on Saturdays, so the other poster who said that may have experienced that, but not in my area.
I do enjoy going to the symposiums--they are not that expensive and I learn a great deal as well as network with other people in my state. That is priceless, in my opinion.
I also like being involved with a professional association, as I take my profession seriously and want to associate myself with the professional association, and AAMT is it in that regard. If there were other choices, I might feel differently.
Are they perfect? Heck, no! But, the members do elect the people who make the decisions and therefore I feel my voice does get heard. Do they always do what I want? No, but no organization would, as everyone has different opinions.
I think it is a personal choice. I've been in MT for 25+ years and a member of AAMT for the past 12. I make a very good wage, and yes, I do get compensated for my CMT, though I understand many do not. I am proud to be a member and plan to keep up my membership as long as I feel my needs are being met which is networking, continuing education, etc.
MT Bashing by nurses
I found this on a nurse's blog - they were talking about MT mistakes they found in charts...
Nurse #1: I tried to get a job as a medical Transcriptionist for extra money, and no one would hire me because my 15 years experience of direct patient care does not qualify me to be a transcriptionist. Oh really? Or, I guess I mean, Owe Reilly?
Nurse #2:
I have no idea why they wouldn't let you work as a transcriptionist - what sort of special training would you need that you wouldn't already have?! It might be a good way to make ends meet if there came a point where a nurse couldn't stand up for so long anymore. It doesn't seem like it would take much in the way of critical thinking skills...
We don't use critical thinking skills? Darn, then maybe I should look into the career opportunities at Burger King...
today it is 2.49 a gallon, NE Indiana

What does a gallon of gas cost in YOUR town?
$2.39 here. Northwestern Wisconsin. It is pathetic.
Paid $2.69/gallon in So. Cal. today. (nm)
That's not bashing? Coulda fooled me.

Wasn't bashing you Nana!
I just thought my post might come off like that LOL. Guess I was sort of agreeing with you! Didn't want it to sound wrong since I attached it to yours!
what's wrong with my typing? Are the bashing
and insults starting for lack of logic?
Our gas prices are just over $3/gallon and summer's coming!
I'll want to use my A/C in my car plus do a little extra driving in the summertime.
Right now it's costing me about $44 to $46 to fill my tank up. It HURTS!
Thinking about buying a bicycle to get around town on! lol
LOL..i wasn't bashing you..just found it interesting.

Why are you bashing her for making a sacrifice for her family first?
Good grief!
We just signed up for our propane for winter.. It's gone up a dollar per gallon...
from last year. There is no shortage of propane as far as I know. They just raise the price because they can. We're paying 1.89 per gallon. Thank goodness we have 2 wood stoves, but I'm sure a cord of wood will double too. . You can't win.
PA dictates patient drinks "a gallon" of liquor a day.
I hear people drinking a pint or 1/5 a day, but a GALLON. The guy is only 45.
Holy Cow, a gallon of Jack Daniels? I had a whole juice glass once sm
and was sick for a week, can't imagine a gallon.
Photos in today's NYPost show pumps in Brooklyn up over 3.00 a gallon, way over! nm

No, I need to work with some coworkers with "class", not low rental boss-bashing cats!
And what I love the most - if Frank himself called one of them, or actually walked up to them in an office, they'd fall all over him, gushing about how great he is to work for! Guaranteed! Its just so "catty" to claw his eyes out on an anonymous message board and giggle, giggle, giggle. I'd be saying the same thing to their faces as well, except I'd probably be their supervisor and would be canning their catty behinds.
What are you paying your MTs? If you're only paying 7 or 8 cpl
and expecting extremely experienced MTs, forget it. You're not going to get it. If, however, you're willing to pay 9 or more cpl then you will find what you're looking for. There ARE experienced MTs out there who will work their fingers to the bone IF they are compensated well and treated with respect.
ATT- I was paying $320 for 7000 minutes, I am now paying $175 for 5000 minutes in CA. nm

Bush did nothing
and Bush did nothing, nada..zilch..he was too busy vacationing at his ranch or taking half a day off each day or sleeping, LOL. I have a friend who lives in Texas and she said Bushs nickname was the half day governor, they all knew he left by noon and went to sleep by 6pm..The guy is an idiot, warmonger, war dodger..Had to get his poppy to get him out of the Vietnam War and when he was in the National Guard could not even finish that obligation, had to get his poppy to get him out and falsify the records to make it look like he was in for his whole enlistment..I just love how Bush, Cheney, Rumsfield and Rice never went to war yet they are so quick to send our sons and daughters to an immoral, illegal, wrong war..they should all be tarred and feathered..better yet, they will be impeached.
Bush said he was getting rid of IRS.sm
Keep your fingers crossed that we go to a consumption tax (flat tax). According to an IRS report a few years back during the IRS abuse hearings, they said there are more than 60 million nonfilers and delinquent taxpayers. They have to do something to change the tax system and the laws.
Not just Bush.........
The problem is we have been selling this country off little by little for decades, so I can blame Bush, Clinton, and Bush, Sr, not to mention Jimmy Carter, who would sell his mother if he thought he could be someone's buddy 'ole pal 'ole chum. We have handed over strategic info to our enemies for years, way before Bush, tried to manipulate countries to do what we wanted, turned on those countries when their leaders got too powerful, etc., etc., and we have accomplished nothing but owing other countries to the tune of trillions of dollars. We are a wasteful country and our leaders are NOT looking out for us. Our congress are wasteful people and Heaven forbid one man with a backbone, Ron Paul comes to mind, says STOP IT, STOP IT, STOP IT!!!!!! He has been waving red flags for years and years, but other congressman are too money greedy to do what they are suppose to do. One way to stop all the crap is stop letting them write their own paychecks....they are a public servant.. We decide their paychecks. Once they are done with public service, they go back to making whatever they can on their own, not the $285K they get yearly for the rest of their lives after leaving, not to mention the wonderful healthcare they sign themselves up for, not to mention once they die, their spouses get all that moolah for the rest of their lives with all the healthcare perks. What's wrong with this picture. This happened way before Bush. We are a country that let our public servants serve themselves and serve us up on a platter for the world to take apart bite by bite.
George Bush
He is an embarrassement to this nation. He makes us all look like floundering idiots and he's the lead idiot.
I bet all the "red state" folks that voted for him are having second thoughts. He could care less. I do believe that he is slow on the response because it was not an area of well to do white people who support him but are poor hardworking mostly minority people. Take a good hard look America; this is what we are stuck with.
Did it occur to anyone that even terrorist groups are laughing at us!!!! UUGGHHH.
I'm ready for the flaming that is sure to come my way but...whatever....I can't stop crying from watching these people trying to survive in conditions that no one should be forced to endure.
George Bush
I'm not slow, just making a comparison to say....Florida last year. Granted the situation is on a much bigger scale but if you think back, most of the people were able to leave the areas hardest hit in Florida, mostly white, with transportation available.
As Katrina was coming up through the Gulf, the people left in New Orleans were the people who had no transportation, who lived in housing projects and/or were unemployed. They had no way to get out. I use the race issue because it is painfully obvious that most of the people waiting at the Superdome, on rooftops and various other locations were mostly black. There is no way to have missed that.
It is also painfully obvious that George Bush has taken a beating over this (and about time too in my opinion) and suddenly trucks, food and water are to be had. I guess he heard enough bull from enough people to finally do something to try and salvage himself politically.
Well, Bush DOES consider himself at the right hand of The Man...
I'm sure good ol' Bush will come out
with a lot of encouragement and more words about how "good" the economy is when he gives his state of the union.
I wonder if he has any clue at all that the "union" is falling apart right under his nose.
What is this with Missy bush

re bush and impeachment...sm
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Movement_to_impeach_George_W._Bush
and a couple of paragraphs from there (it's very lengthy that link but very interesting):
A March 16, 2006 poll[18] by American Research Group showed that 42% of Americans favored impeaching Bush. The same poll showed that a plurality of Americans favored the Senate censuring Bush regarding his authorization of wiretaps without court orders.[19]
An informal website poll MSNBC (April 14, 2006) asked whether there was justification to hold a formal impeachment trial, insufficient justification, nothing done wrong, or don't know. Roughly 250,000 votes were reported, 86% voting yes for impeachment. [20] (note that web polls are not scientifically conducted, and can be criticized on the grounds they may be unrepresentative of popular opinion)
George W. Bush! :) NM

Most definitely LAURA BUSH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! nm

Seems likely it is fashionable to blame Bush for everything now. nm

under a rock....BUSH is responsible....sm
Your president Bush, whom you *sound* like you voted for...is most definitely responsible for fulfilling his family's nearly 30-year pact with the Saudi's at ALL AMERICAN WORKERS expense. They had a deal from nearly 30 years ago and now the Bush dynasty is paying them (the Saudi's) back by selling ALL OF US OUT, including our PORTS!!! He has jeopardized ALL OF US due to his NEED/WANT for global acceptance of HIM.
If you cannot *see* this - time for you to get some serious help.
I never said I supported Bush...I just said I have nothing to hide.
If it prevents another horrible act like Sept. 11, then I really don't care. I don't have my head in the sand by the way. I keep very current with what is going on. I am totally against Bush and everything he stands for, but I am FOR protecting this country.
question is Do I really care what the Bush Adm.
N_O_T
offshoring came about loooong before Bush.........

You are correct, same as Bush basically. nm

Love Clinton, hate Bush
Rather have a lover of women in the WH than a lover of war, death, dividing the country, alienating the world, destroying the environment, allowing gases to rise, water to be polluted as he cuts back regulations for businesses, cutting the rights and protections for the middle class, on and on and on and on and on....Bush is a disaster..a freak..a sociopath..check it out on the internet..doctors have posted articles that Bush is a sociopath..and I agree, my four years of psychology in college lead me to this conclusion, never said anything but now Ph.D.s are saying it too.., LOLOLOLOLOL
if you can't debate, destroy! bush cronies do the same!
Do you realize that the Bush tax cut saved this economy after 9/11?
Everybody got a tax cut. Now you can't cut taxes to those who don't pay any, can you? That would be socialism. BTW, do you realize that the unemployment rate in those countries with cradle to grave entitlements runs more than 10%, as compared to our 4.9%. France for example. I know it seems like a simple solution that the taxes from the high wage earners should be taken away and given to those who don't earn anything, but in economic terms, that can destroy an economy and therefore hurt the low wager earners even more. Case in point, the Clinton luxury tax back in the 90s. He put a huge tax on boats and jewlery and had to remove it because of the trickle down damage that did to all the jobs those luxury items created.
