Yes, will take them both and go for it. Worst that can happen is they resent me for bailing out.

The worst that could happen if they drop SE status is
you would have to go to part-time status, but actually that may be a bonus for you. You would get some PTO benefits and only be required to work 20 hours a week, although no doubt there would be no problem working extra if you choose to do that. If you are required to have skeduled hours, schedule them while the kids are sleeping/napping. You don't necessarily have to do your hours in a 4-hour block.
Apply even if they ask for 2-3 years experience. The worst that can happen is they won't ask you

This is the worst thing you can do, next to bankruptcy...
Any accounts included in a consumer credit counseling plan will show as "closed by creditor" on your credit report and will really pull down your FICO score. Also, CC companies normally will not lower your interest rate unless you are at least 90 days delinquent. They will then because at 90 days you are close to a charge-off. If you go 90 days delinquent, of course you have just damaged your credit.
Occasionally, people with a top credit rating can negotiate a lower rate, but only if they have a relatively small balance and threaten to close the account.
YES YES ! Same exact thing. On the worst day you can't even

the worst thing that ever happened at school was
when students in the girl's bathroom would get caught smoking cigarettes!
Change is hard, it be the worst thing or an opportunity sm
It is all about attitude.
I have done a fair amount of switching in my time. I have one of my IC situations for 3 yrs, the other for 6 months. I am giving up on the 6-month arrangement for a full time, with benefits and using my favorite expander, actual job. This is all just in time for the new year and I am excited about it.
I won't lie to you, a new job with new software, new voices, new management, new people to work with, new specialties...it is stressful and there will be a learning curve. Sometimes the learning curve is too steep, the platform a dinosaur and all the voices seem to speak Greek and not Latin like they are supposed to, and you move on again. I am convinced the right fit exists for each of us.
You also need to know that most of the situations out there currently pay you about 2 weeks after you do the work, they do offer direct deposit and other nice things. Having not had a rubber check in the past 5 yrs, I can tell you it is nice not to worry about that either.
Best of luck to you. You are not alone, come back and tell us how you are getting on.
I had the same thing happen.
I even had pictures of the item that I had mailed, but still had to refund the money and got a negative to boot. I tried to make ebay a fulltime work at home job for myself for so long, but I ran into a lot of liars and scammers out there. I had another woman who bought a cross stitch kit from me for beaucoup bucks. She stiffed me, then left feedback that she had turned me in for fraud and theft for stealing her money and not sending the item. I told her to send me a copy of the cashed check/money order so I could turn it over to the FBI for mail theft and fraud because I had never received it, so someone else must have cashed it. (If she sent it at all, which I doubt because her account wound up getting closed down by ebay. Evidently, she had pulled this on other people, too.)
I have had the same thing happen (sm)
I have an excellent resume, no mommy duties and experience of 25 years.
Every service gives me nothing but the crap work because they know I can do it and I always look for part-time IC work.
The only thing I would say is to try finding your own clients.
It may actually be bad to be a good MT, you'll get nothing but the crap. I was especially peeved with my last couple companies after chatting with the other girls and finding out I was the only one getting the crap. If I am looking for a job again, I'll probably look for a job taking phone orders or customer service. I doubt I will try working for another service, been screwed enough times.
Those who are getting the cream of the crop now can take the leftover crap after their cream of the crop goes to VR. I've had my share.
Unfortunately, I had the same thing happen to me... SM
and if I had waited for the recruiter or trainer or anyone else to call me, I would probably still be sitting by the phone, unemployed. It may not be right, but that was the way it was.
My son had the same thing happen with his, only
he has an Acer. It was the motherboard, which they replaced. My son went to Vo-Tech when he was a senior in high school for networking and the first thing they did was build their own computers to work on. He said about 20% of the mother boards were DOA, so I guess it is a common problem.
If he just got it, he should be able to send it back and get it fixed. Call customer support because you might need an RA number and they might arrange for pick up. At least Acer did. Fed-Ex came to the house and picked ours up.
Good luck.
I had the same thing happen to me.
My best friend, her husband and my ex-husband we all were extremely close. We all hung out a lot almost every weekend and some weekdays. We would play cards, have a few drinks, and just hang out as friends.
When I separated from my husband, who btw is my best friend's husband's cousin, my best friend's husband decided to offer me his "services", as I was a single woman who would need sex! LOL
Needless to say, this made my ability to be a good, true friend very difficult and extremely awkward. I'm not good at keeping secrets -- I do not have a good poker face at all. Every time I was around her or talked to her, I felt an overwhelming sense of guilt. I wondered, "If I were in her shoes, what would I want her to do?" On one hand, I'd be furious if my husband hit on her and she didn't tell me. On the other hand, I would probably choose to believe my husband over her because, well, he was my husband. Not only that, there were young children involved. Honestly, if I were in her shoes, I simply would not have been able to handle the truth.
Her husband, to her, was the perfect family man who would never in a million years do her wrong. He "seemed" to be a good person, a decent husband to my friend and I would not have believed it myself had he not done it to me!
He called me a couple of times and I told him to never call me. Then, the day his youngest daughter was born and his wife and the baby were in the hospital, he came by my house to see me -- DRUNK!!!! Fortunately, my parents were there. I don't know what he would have done had they not been there. My folks were very suspicious for obvious reasons.
After he pulled that stunt, I was really scared of him because even after I made it very clear for him to leave me alone, he STILL PURSUED ME! I was beginning to think he had a mental problem. He eventually stopped calling but when I'd see him, he'd have that idiotic smirk on his face and I always wanted to throw up or hit him or ... UGH!!!
Needless to say, I felt stuck, confused, hurt, angry, and guilty. I had done nothing wrong and I felt guilty! I hated him for doing this to her, to me, and to our relationship.
I'd go see her when I knew he was not at home but if he got wind that I was going to see her, he'd make it a point to "pop" in. So, I started avoiding her altogether and eventually we drifted apart.
A few years later, I got a phone call from her wanting me to go to dinner with her -- that she wanted to "talk". At dinner, she started talking to me about things that he had told her because he suddenly wanted to be totally honest with her about everything. From the tone in her voice, I knew she was upset so I figured he had spilt the beans about hitting on me. He had actually told her a lot of other stuff. Anyway, she began to see him in a new light -- her trust in him was diminished and the truth about who he really was had set in.
Anyway, I told her what had happened over dinner that night because I felt like she needed to know and she was ready to hear it. She understood my reasons for not telling her but was still hurt and embarrased. She felt like she no longer knew him -- that her perception of him was all a lie. They got a divorce last year.
She and I no longer have contact with each other. I wound up losing her friendship. I wonder what makes some people do what they do. He was completely and totally selfish but he's paying the price now because he did lose a good friend and a wonderful wife.
My dear, it's a lose/lose situation thanks to your friend's husband. I feel for you and understand your pain and what you are going through.
Good luck!
Had the same thing happen to me
except for an H&P - parts dictated which were never done. I saw the report, had the exam and know good and well some made up.
Have exactly the same thing happen
Years ago never this and I wounder if it is the program? What I have to do is hold down the control key and hit say a number like 3 several times, back up and then it reverts back to where it should be. What program are you on?
You couldn't be more wrong. Here is the worst thing about posting on a forum...SM
All too often, I have a difficult time expressing myself here because I'm posting quickly in between typing reports. It can truly be difficult if not impossible at times to express yourself when all you have is text. Many times (for me anyway) what I write is taken out of context and misconstrued because on a forum you don't have the benefits of tone of voice, facial expression, and/or body language. That is what has happened here.
If you had the opportunity to meet me, my daughter, and husband, I have no doubt that you would take back such a presumptuous insult.
When I used the word "fear" the meaning I had in mind apparently was not taken in the context it was meant to be. For example, if I don't meet TAT for my supervisor, I would have a fear of being reprimanded, losing my account, etc. Another example: My husband was just promoted to a QA manager over a department of 12. His biggest fear is being late because he no longer has 1/2 hour flex-time to start.
Trust me, my daughter is a very secure, outgoing, happy, content child. Very, very rarely do we even have to raise our voice at her. She's never been grounded and is an honor roll student. She is very responsible and obeys out of love. Her biggest "fear" is knowing she has hurt or disappointed us. Maybe anxious would be the more appropriate word.
When I first posted about some children having to be scared into obedience, from what I have witnessed this is true. Time out doesn't work on every child. My sister has the absolute two worst children I know. She has tried every avenue of discipline and the only way to get their attention is to threaten them with a spanking. So can we agree in this context that the "fear" of a spanking is ultimately what makes them behave??
I'm a wonderful mother and my daughter and I have a very strong bond.
Hopefully I have gotten my point across and CPS won't be stopping in.
Actually with the way things are going right now with MQ it may be the best thing to happen because
they are certainly not making MTs happy campers that is for sure.
To be honest, might be the best thing to happen.
No flame here, either ~ had the same thing happen
I was walking my dog on his leash and went past a house where their dog was just wandering in the yard and he came out after us. It turned out okay, but that was the last time I went that route.
I've had exactly the same thing happen, where (sm)
the doc jumped around in the report, asking you to insert things here and there, and just ASSUMING that you had the correct template and/or adequate samples in front of you, and that you could read their minds.
I have had this type of thing happen...
I will never understand why someone will go to the trouble of installing software, giving samples, etc., only to not contact you about the position. I have to look at it like this, if the company is so crappy with communication and organization, I am glad I figured it out before I started working, because it probably wouldn't have went well anyway!
We've had that CD burner thing happen too
We build our own systems instead of getting prepackaged ones so sometimes it is absolutely agonizing trying to get everything to work together. I have a CD-ROM (not burner) that I've had for probably ten years and when all else fails and I just need access to a CD, I use it. It's still chugging along.
Worst types for me are oncology and ENT. Worst dialect
definitely Arabic, Indian, Pakistani. No problem with Asian though. Of course, warp speed, mush mouth American dictation can be the pits, also.
My MIL is the worst one too.
Her husband ignores her and every night they spend the evening with her in the breezeway watching some movie from 1950 and him watching porno in the living room. He makes perverted remarks at waitresses, comments about the physical attrributes of every woman he sees, has made their 30-year-old daughter's friends his "imaginary girlfriends" (has pictures of himself with just about all of them and even calls some of them "his girlfriend").
Needless to say his wife has no self esteem whatsoever after almost 40 years of this.
However, she puts up with it and never says a word to him about it. Then the nastiness comes out in other ways. She's passive aggressive, mean, angry, frustrated and takes it out on anyone she can, which is why I just keep my distance.
Miserable, dysfunctional people.
MQ at its worst could never ever
match the underhanded and disgusting way MTs and Editor staff were/are treated at HIS. Colleen is a disgrace and the company is up for sale. Former managers and CEO are suing the place .. give you a clue? Run as fast as you possibly can away from Toledo!!
here's worst!!
whatever the complaint is... the patient will undergo bypass surgery!!
What is the worst job U have ever had?
Mine was working at Wendy's - ARGH! I was always stuck on fries, and believe me when summer would hit that was NOT a good place to be - I used to come home dripping with sweat, smelling like french fries and burgers and my hair always looked severely deformed and greasy from those stupid caps we had to wear! I never made the grade as an order-taker, I'm afraid. I used to HATE customers coming in cuz it just meant more work for meeee!
Worst job. sm
The very worst job I ever had was working in a crab processing plant. Yep, blue crabs.
Now, top that! LOL
Worst Job
Was this school in Texas? I worked for one like that and quit after a couple of months. They would enroll the students, get all of the government money they could and then these people couldn't get a job if they wanted one after graduation. It was hard to even get them internships. I think the school was probably bought out for the new Dallas Cowboy Stadium that is going in - at least it was in the vicinity of that area - you could see The BallPark at Arlington or whatever the name of it is now from the school.
I need a car in the worst way
Anyone know the best place to start? My 1995 Bonneville has almost died on me. The car is in great cosmetic shape, but the new tires, fixing a window that won't roll down and putting a new air compressor (I think) is gonna cost me more than I think the are is worth... so I'm car shopping. I'd like a Maxima, Accord or Camry(a couple to three years old) for a good price but not sure where to get the best deal. Anybody have any recommendations?
Worst Job
Worst job I've ever had was working for a private practice radiologist who was just plain mean and nasty. In addition, he would have me put the new films on the board and clip the old films to the jacket but never even look at them. I figure he was doing this as a protective measure in case he ever got into trouble, etc. that I could vouch for him that those films were made available to him. And this guy was reading for a hospital who did gastric bypasses...reading serial chest films post-op!! I was glad to be out of there.
Those seem like they would be the worst
Whenever I hear stories about abused kids on the news, it takes me DAYS to get them out of my mind and not to dream about it. Completely and utterly heartbreaking.
One of the worst

The worst of the worst...sm
Horrible management, 90% ESLs with horrible sound quality, and recieved my last paycheck 3 weeks late with no response as to why. They gave me gray hair.
One of my worst was

Best and Worst
Best thing - You can pretty much choose your own schedule.
Worst thing - You have to deal with taxes yourself (which really isn't all that bad if you know what you should be paying quarterly).
That is the worst!
Living in a state called "Vacationland," people think they can just show up, both unannounced and announced, and use our place as a free resort because "you just work from home, you don't have a set schedule...you can still hang out and play." I don't say anything, because I'm not confrontational, and I live so far away from friends and family I truly do appreciate it when they drive all the way up to visit, but it's really not that easy to work around.
Did you know that TW has the WORST
customer service of any other US company?
Boy, I'm the worst...
On a (good) bad day, I go for a walk, preferably 3 miles. I call it my 30-minute Prozac.
Now, on a (bad) bad day, with a lot of PMS also in the mixture, I'll hit the peanut butter and chocolate. I also find myself yelling a lot.
On a really, really bad day - kids, school, husband, bills, people, job, PMS, I really get toxic. I go for the 6-pack of Samual Adams Light and a pack of cigarettes. Sit out on my porch and act like it's 1985 all over again. I know - I really need to work on my anger technique.
the best and the worst
I used to work at a hospital that at the end of the year had the transcriptionists vote on the 10 best and 10 worst dictators in their system. The 10 best got a bonus, and the 10 worst got a lesson in dictating! The docs really got into it, especially the ones who got the 10 best awards! It was the same ones usually and the other ones actually worked to get in there! And the bad ones, with one or two exceptions, actually didn't know they were bad and worked on trying to improve. It was great!
they never tell ya huh... it's the worst
The doctor I SEE uses this system of EMR, no dictation necessary... and I believe the hospital I work for is looking into it, although we aren't told straight up either. It's frustrating. Should I be looking for another job or not?! I think it's only fair especially when MT is going downhill anyway. The people that absolutely love their job (I DO) but the ones that hate the complaining on this board dont see this big picture. It's not just outsourcing that's taking away our jobs...

I personally don't see how the medical record can be completed if not dictated, but that's just me....
Softscript is the worst there is
I really had to laugh when I saw this. If you want to continue working for the worst transcription (and I use the term loosely) in the business, stay with SS. HORRIBLE doesn't even scratch the surface. Look at all the posts to yours - do you see anything positive? Didn't think so. Do yourself a favor and take these honest comments to heart. Get out of there as soon as you can and save yourself the "experiences" we've all had.
AT&T is the worst service, but what else do you
expect. It is all handled by those dumb east indians that think they have everyone fooled by making up American names.
Worst for me is anything with Musk in it. It
just starts me off. I have asthma and now lots of things that set that off and my migraines. The barometer only has to be a little abnormal for me to start getting a migraine. However, smells do the same thing though so far I have been lucky and can abort them taking Excedrin Migraine.
One of many worst jobs - !
- was a temp. job at an office where I was filling in for a lady on vacation. But the boss liked me because I could spell, and wanted to hire me in her place, and I guess fire her. (But I already knew I wanted to stay temporary, so I turned it down). Good thing, 'cuz somehow it leaked out to the other people there that I might get hired in place of the original lady. Everyone ate lunch at the same time, in the same lunchroom. Every day when I walked into the lunchroom, all talking would CEASE, and everyone would just stare at me. If looks could've killed, I'd be dead. It really sucked.
Rachel Ray is the worst!
I am ashamed to admit I end up with her on at least twice a week. She always says "You know me". I don't know why that drives me nuts !?!? Just does.
The worst report I ever did was
some years ago, when I worked part-time in an AIDS clinic. The doc started dictating on a former co-worker/friend of mine. Of course, I couldn't say anything, but it was a heartbreaking experience.
And the worst part about it is
I have never had an ESL doc that I can remeber that has said 'thank you'. I mean they have to realize that it is difficult for us to understand...but they just don't care. A little thank you every now and then would be nice. Earlier today I was smiling because of the posts down below about thank yous...if they could just manage that it would make it just a little better.
oh.despise DPM also!!!worst of all.nm

In the Kitchen and it is the worst but
I purchased a pair of those earmuffs that people use at the shooting range and although I have received many laughs, these are the best!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I use the little earbuds for headphones and the earmuffs on top and get some peace and quiet. I also put them on when I do not want to be bothered. I have in-laws over a lot to help with my 4 year old and we live in an apartment so these earmuffs are literally the best thing to happen to my work. I work a lot of nights and would just keep my husband up if it were in the bedroom. I really don't think I would want the computer screen staring at me while I am trying to sleep anyway.
The worst one I had was an OB report...
with the diagnosis of fetal demise. I was almost bawling! The doctor even seemed to be having trouble dictating.
