That is unfortunately the case with many molestations, a friend of the family, relative, boy/girl scout leader, teacher...in other words, someone our children SHOULD be able to trust
Back in the very old days, when I was younger, I remember a neighbor girl of 10 or 12, that was all of a sudden gone. With gossip being over the fences back then, we learned she was sent away because she accused her older brother of molesting her (he being a star jock, them being a God fearing family. They chose to punish this child for her accusations, subsequent "blight" & embarrasement on the family, since those things just were NOT talked about back then.
Well.....darling son just got busted last year of doing the exact same things his sister accused him of....only this time to students in his phys.ed. class . During the investigation, it turned out his step-daughter had also been a victim. So years later, his sister got her day in court so to speak, in being able to testify and look not only her brother, but her parents in the eye in court (yep,she was and is allienated from her family)and tell them all TOLD YA SO! Oh, she is also a member of a police task force that goes after these internet creeps..
