Wait till they steal our information, sell it and
our identities are stolen. This is not right because if any of us had a choice, we would not want our records of any kind going overseas to be managed or transcribed, etc. I think this violates our privacy big time and should be actively brought to the attention of all the stupid government officials. Wait till they have someone steal their identity or money or whatever. Think they will rethink this. Shame something has to happen to the rich folks before anyone will do anything about tightening things and even if they did enact laws, would these overseas companies abide by them. NOT.
I just think when the whole population ends up on the street, they won't be able to hide it then. I feel sorry for the generations to come. How would they save anything for retirement. I can't even do that.
Cool stuff. Keep up the good work. Destroy Steal Steal - that is all that Plane is capable of: http:

identity theft
Hey, I just saw that someone else is posting as "Nymt", whereas my handle is "nymt" all lower case. This may cause some confusion and I have no idea who was first. Any takers? No animosity, I promise.
You will think otherwise if your identity ever gets stolen..sm
good luck to you.
Identity Theft - sm
The process of identity theft is one of gathering bits of information from various sources. Everyone will find Mitnick's book, "The Art of Deception" very entertaining and perhaps even frightening in this respect.
Small bits of information can be used to garner others that are more compromising. That's the bottom line.
But your resume itself can be enough, depending on the question that the fraudster wants to answer. For instance, what if the "phony" job ad was simply placed by an MT company in order to find out which of their employees are out there looking for jobs?
I get calls from "employers" wanting to "check references" on people. I always get their phone number, verify it, and then call them back. However, I'd bet that most do not take these precautions, so if I have your resume I can start to call your previous employers, tell them you've applied for a job and, believe it or not, if I'm skilled at social engineering, get your former supervisor to tell me a LOT of things you'd never suspect.
Bottom line: Guard your privacy like a mother lion guards her cubs.
not *identity* - much more severe problem...nm *S*

If anyone steals my identity, the joke's on them!
Destitution has its benefits!
identity theft HAS happened - sm
I know of two transcriptionists that were arrested for identity theft. It took a long, long, long time to catch them, but they were finally caught. Also, I worked at a hospital that decided to outsource, and we tried telling the director that some of the doctors dictate SS# on the report to ensure that we have the right patient, and that that could pose a problem with outsourcing. But they didn't want to hear it or correct it.
I think it's an expander identity thing, LOL.
It's become your dual personality.
Identity Theft is one reason
The medical records have SS#'s, full names, addresses, depending on header info it can have employer's name or ins. info. It is hard enough to prove/solve/control identity theft in our own country let alone coming out of other countries. That along with the mistakes in the reports that can have a very drastic effect on a patient's care/life. AND if you don't mind the work being done overseas for a fraction of what you are paid so that you no longer have a job...it can't get much more obvious than no paycheck coming in.
steal the dog
he is being mistreated - anybody who keeps a dog tied up all the time w/no attention is a jerk who shouldn't even have a pet.
steal the dog and take him to the local breed rescue org. He's going to make someone who loves him a wonderful pet.

You don't have the RIGHT to STEAL someone's dog!
Call the dogcatcher or animal control.
You have NO right to STEAL anyone's pet.
I've read your outrageous posts on this board before. You're really some piece of work.
do reveal OP's true identity. I received
an email and would like to know who I may be conversing with.
don't post your name or the company you work for, no one will know your identity. SM
why did you even bother to reply so negatively. If it bothers you to answer this poll, than ignore the post. Negativity is so unattractive.
How would the info from our resumes be used for identity theft?
I guess I don't understand it. My social is not on my resume. Only my name and phone number and previous employers. How would one use this info to gain enough info to use my identity? I am just curious.
that's pretty funny considering we don't even have our own identity code with IRS! nm

And you're willing to just accept that? Ever had your identity stolen? I have. It's no treat.
the police have made a report but whoopee, that's not getting my credit back on track. Talk about stress and grief. No one ever cares until it happens to them. What a shame.
I only make 9 cpl. If i could steal her accounts for
and she'd have to go out and pound the pavement looking for more work. What she'd find would be a whole different world than the one inside her little plastic bubble.
No, actually every time you steal music, you are stealing from SM
many people, but you already know that.
Beg, borrow, or steal not to have that payment be late!!!
It does not matter how little you have left on it. Late is late in my opinion.
Regardless of being employee or IC, is wrong to steal account from your MTSO
and it's also irrelevant whether it's a crappy MTSO or not.
what is the harm in telling the rate? i don't u from adam and i won't steal your job.
Also irritating illegal alien ESLs that steal US

They steal your money and then send you a check and you are thrilled. Give me a break.

Ah yes! Me too, and I needed it!
EMR's -- we will still be needed
I work at a clinic part-time typing into EMR's as well as running my own company. But now they are loading Stedman's spell check and work expanders onto Word so that I can type in word and then transfer the info over to the electronic chart. I type faster in word. They found that it is faster for the doc to dictate rather than type into the chart and not only that, insurances were questioning the "standardization" of the chart notes. Too similar. So I do make sure that even though I use expanders, and macros, I do make some minor changes to "standard exams" so it does not all look the same, but this is with the approval of the docs. But they can see at least 4-6 additonal patients and dictate all the notes rather than type then and are able go home at 5 o'clock instead of 7. Also the TAT is 48 hours and not weeks as the docs would never finish the notes. So we will still be here just typing under a different format.
Thanks, I needed that!
:)
No, what for? Never needed it. nm
nm
thanks, but not what I needed to know
Gee, thanks for all that information. I am well aware that I could send an email, and I am well aware of how to crunch the numbers in terms of rate of pay. I was just hoping to hear from someone who already works for the company. Thanks anyway.
Thanks.. that's what I needed to know
Wasn't sure if it was something routine on every sale or if it was that the buyer backed out. I'll just let it stay there and see if I get payment! I'm hoping to get the hang of listing stuff on ebay, but it took me 2 hours to list that one item! LOL...
yes MTs will always be needed...nm

Thanks, Jay. That's just what I needed to know. nm

I needed to know this. Thank you! (nm)

Thanks. That is what I needed.

Sorry if that's not what you needed. sm
I reread your post. I tried to find specifics about the profile tests and couldn't find anything either.
Thanks, I needed this
I want to thank you for this post. I was feeling really down about my job with voice recognition and I know I am not out there by myself, but I really needed a good laugh about being a psychic transcriptionist. LOL.
Thanks, just want I needed to know
Because I will probably get a Dell laptop pretty soon.
Thanks again for the help
Thanks, I needed that, too.

was needed. (got cut off).

Thanks! I needed that.
It was much good of yous to care! Thank you so much for pointing that out.
I don't spellcheck or audit what I type for postings on the internet. Maybe I should? After all, I am posting this for myself, not my employer, but you are right, I should care enough.
I think the MTs that Crabby was talking about in her post ought to care too. I am burnt out from working 14 hours a day to make up for the $$ that I am not making because we all haven't had a raise since 1988 and I believe that MTs with poor skills are part of the reason why all MTs are not getting paid what they deserve. Are we the only profession that has not had a cost of living raise in practically forever?
There is more needed
I have worked as an IC and employee. For every some companies, you need WORD 2003. I could not understand why 2007 would not work, but they swear that it would not work with eScription. Some people told me that they spoke directly with eScription who said it would; needless to say, I had to purchase a very outdated copy from Amazon.com for about $200. I was also told that it had to be the full version of WORD. If you are working with eScription, I am sure that part is correct.
You will have to get a foot pedal, and I was told by last two companies that I was working for (simultaneously) that I had to have a 9-pin foot pedal with a USB adapter which is different somehow than USB alone.
If you are working from a C-Phone then you can rent this equipment from the company. This would require the unlimited long distance.
Most require highspeed internet.
The other important thing to know is preparing for self-employment taxes. That is the big one.
I had the hardest time finding good headphones (which you may already have) but finally found the best ever and VERY inexpensive at dictaionwarehouse .com. The salesman was great help and talked me into the less expensive set which was their best seller. I had already planned on spending $200 for a good set and only spent $25. (Spectra-RA twin speaker headset). They have these in digital w/USB, stereo, Dictaphone and many other types of connections. I am now an employee for a specialty clinic and had to go back to tapes and needed mono-headphones, but I am sure the others would be great also and again VERY inexpensive, but the salesman will be honest and tell you for sure. I just had to share this after the long drawn out hunt.
Orator Pro help needed!
While setting up a network connection for my laptop computer, I inadvertantly deleted a network connection that I THOUGHT was not being used. In the process of deleting the networked drive, I also deleted some folders for the Orator Pro phone-in system. Of course, the Bytescribe company is closed, which means there is no technical support for me right now, and my doctors are unable to phone in dictation until I can get the system back up and running. I have a system restore disk from Bytescribe, but I'm not sure how to use it and am afraid I will make things worse. The disk has Symantec's Ghost software, which gives you options for partitioning drives, etc. Is there anyone out there that has made the same mistake in the past or can help me use the system restore disk?
Thank you. I appareciate any help you can give me.
Follow up is needed.
I responded to a job this morning and at their request sent my resume and did not receive a reply until I saw another posting for the same job on this board. I just dont think this is good business.
It pointed out something that NEEDED to be said
The OP is BRAND NEW. She has no idea what is right or wrong. She just believes her way is right and QA is wrong, even "made up". Paddywhack is right. You follow the preferences of the account that provides your paycheck. If you get a different job, their preferences will probably be different. That doesn't make them wrong. It just means that those are the rules you have to follow to get the paycheck. It's not rocket science. It's common sense. The OP needs to get off her high horse and stop thinking she knows everything and start learning what her employer wants so she can KEEP getting that paycheck.
Mentor Needed
I'm currently a student needing some help and I don't what it usualy cost to get a mentor. I have only five reports I need help with so you can just tell me how much you'll be willing to help me for.
