All too often, I have a difficult time expressing myself here because I'm posting quickly in between typing reports. It can truly be difficult if not impossible at times to express yourself when all you have is text. Many times (for me anyway) what I write is taken out of context and misconstrued because on a forum you don't have the benefits of tone of voice, facial expression, and/or body language. That is what has happened here.
If you had the opportunity to meet me, my daughter, and husband, I have no doubt that you would take back such a presumptuous insult.
When I used the word "fear" the meaning I had in mind apparently was not taken in the context it was meant to be. For example, if I don't meet TAT for my supervisor, I would have a fear of being reprimanded, losing my account, etc. Another example: My husband was just promoted to a QA manager over a department of 12. His biggest fear is being late because he no longer has 1/2 hour flex-time to start.
Trust me, my daughter is a very secure, outgoing, happy, content child. Very, very rarely do we even have to raise our voice at her. She's never been grounded and is an honor roll student. She is very responsible and obeys out of love. Her biggest "fear" is knowing she has hurt or disappointed us. Maybe anxious would be the more appropriate word.
When I first posted about some children having to be scared into obedience, from what I have witnessed this is true. Time out doesn't work on every child. My sister has the absolute two worst children I know. She has tried every avenue of discipline and the only way to get their attention is to threaten them with a spanking. So can we agree in this context that the "fear" of a spanking is ultimately what makes them behave??
I'm a wonderful mother and my daughter and I have a very strong bond.
Hopefully I have gotten my point across and CPS won't be stopping in.

pretty much a "must". And a while back, someone started an online petition about personal information in healthcare records, and even when I sent it to people who were NOT in the healthcare industry, they were afraid to put their actual names out on the internet, and so many of the signatures were "anonymous". Totally WORTHLESS.
Here's one way it might be done: Once a consensus has been reached about an effectively-written form letter, it can be posted so it can be downloaded. The recipient could sign it and send it themselves, and/or send it to one person on the board (who is NOT management, and deemed to be trustworthy, of course) to collect. Or, instead of a long form, letter, it could be a short blurb about "agreeing with and supporting" the letter that has been chosen, and that short form can be affixed to a longer petition.
Anyway, now that I'm confusing even myself, what I mean is, there should be a way so that the "keeper of the petition" has actual, original, handwritten names, not just typed or copied.
Another thing: Many MTs seem to feel that if they supported a national "outing" of what really goes on in this industry, that they could lose their jobs. Maybe there needs to be some sort of a consensus that if anyone who signs loses their job, then we ALL go on strike until that person is reinstated. Food for thought, anyway.
Consider that this is a discussion forum and not a job. Posting doesn't have to be perfect.

Do you get cramps at all from holding it? The reason I ask is because I used to from holding game controllers. Are you basically using the same fingers to keys as with a conventional keyboard? Any accounts included in a consumer credit counseling plan will show as "closed by creditor" on your credit report and will really pull down your FICO score. Also, CC companies normally will not lower your interest rate unless you are at least 90 days delinquent. They will then because at 90 days you are close to a charge-off. If you go 90 days delinquent, of course you have just damaged your credit.

I have done a fair amount of switching in my time. I have one of my IC situations for 3 yrs, the other for 6 months. I am giving up on the 6-month arrangement for a full time, with benefits and using my favorite expander, actual job. This is all just in time for the new year and I am excited about it.
I won't lie to you, a new job with new software, new voices, new management, new people to work with, new specialties...it is stressful and there will be a learning curve. Sometimes the learning curve is too steep, the platform a dinosaur and all the voices seem to speak Greek and not Latin like they are supposed to, and you move on again. I am convinced the right fit exists for each of us.
You also need to know that most of the situations out there currently pay you about 2 weeks after you do the work, they do offer direct deposit and other nice things. Having not had a rubber check in the past 5 yrs, I can tell you it is nice not to worry about that either.

advice, not once, but at least twice, panic stricken. If you didn't want the advice you shouldn't have asked and you surely shouldn't have come back her bashing people for their advice. We are not medical professionals. It could have just as easily been something serious and because of the lack of $$ you didn't go to the ER and you'd be singing a different song today.

He later said the correct patient's name and I SWEAR to this day I made the changes but somehow the report when through without the correct patient and changes made. I still remember that incident.

Went on another MT forum (will not
name names) and saw work wanted postings for MTs in India. Don't know how I feel about this. All I do know is that I don't want my job outsourced like so many other jobs. The other MT forum is supposedly not an Indian forum, but they seem to let the Indian MTs post on it. I won't comment on there because I don't want to be called a bigot. Just worried about my job is all. Can't type for 2 cpl and buy groceries.

How much would you charge for a "normal" report? Had a GYN doctor ask me that. She wanted a special rate for normal reports. I said that I would charge whatever the line count came up with. Sometimes they adjust their "normals" and add on, and then I would not consider it a normal. If they did not, what would you charge?
Any thoughts on this would be appreciated.

Before she signs up for the course, she can get a guest pass to view the forum. She can see what really happens after graduation. Many grads now are having a hard time finding a job. Some graduated last year and are still job hunting. Of those who do find jobs, many are working for 4-5 cpl, which there is no way you could make decent money at that rate.
I wonder what "graduates" told her they were making $60,000 a year. Probably affiliates looking to gain commision off selling the program.

On another forum they were talking about the people
There are over 50,000 people packed in there. If the structure holds, and that's a big if, the bottom level will flood. The upper level is 35 feet high so all those people will have to be on one level. The problem is magnified with 50,000+ people, the possibility of no electricity, no air conditioning, no food or water as the dome has not been designated as a diaster shelter previously. It will basically become a giant indoor swimming pool isolated as an island. It will be days before rescue can happen. I shudder to think what they will find when this is all over.

about two or three days ago, I've noticed that when I go to the main board, other forum or topic options were not listed on the blue portion of the page, and it feels weird to go back to the home page every time I want to change topic/section.
