You could be me...sm

I have a full time job and I am ending up working 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. to find work, although my set hours are to be 8 to 4...I never work that because there is not work then. I am being brow beaten about doing speech, even though I was told I had a choice, some CHOICE!
I have been looking for a job for a while, at least PT, which I don't have any time for since I work all that time at the FT job. I have landed one where there is work and they would love it if I would jump ship, but it would not be full time for a while. I have another PT offer on a platform I am not wild about, but could manage it.
With taking both the offers in front of me, I would be working the same number of hours and for a while I could not make quite the same money. They are both IC and I didn't want that, but maybe I will do better with it after having been an employee. As an employee, my gross is $1600 or about that and I am seeing $1050 of it. That seems...well high to me and I won't be able to deduct my expenses as I will with an IC and I THINK I am going to be about even with things. I could live on less if I had use of 100% of my income...and I DO NOT KNOW WHAT TO DO!!!
WHY does this have to be such an issue for an accurate, hardworking and productive MT? Why don't they take advantage of our work ethic and keep us busy? Why do they hire so that everyone has a minimum and most of them can't do the minimum and those of us who can do more aren't allowed to? It isn't fair and yes, I know life isn't fair, but my goodness...what has happened in America that makes it so that motivated people can't make a decent living? I know that this how it is in MT, but it wasn't my experience until rather recently.
Ohhhh SO DISAPPOINTED. I feel your pain and there are no easy answers. I am tired of hearing recruiters promise what they cannot deliver. I am tired of dishonest companies too.
