No going on anymore, but I remember getting whacked
over the knuckles with a yard stick by the "nuns" and others being made to stand in the corner for 1/2 hour. We all turned out okay!
I do believe, we received an awesome education by those dedicated to the education profession though. I loved being taught by "nuns". They were the best teachers around when I went to school.
Now, it is illegal in my state to touch a child, although I have mixed emotions about it. How can the teachers obtain discipline in their classrooms when all the kids have to do is "call the cops" on anyone who tries to correct them, even just verbally. It is sad for teachers now a days. I do not think teachers should be allowed to hit or spank kids, but sending them to the corner of the room for half the class or to the Principal's office might work.
In my part of town, if the child is suspended for any discipline problem, they have to go to alternative school for the length of their suspension. That is awesome and the kids do behave in school as they are frightened by that "alternative" school solution.
They are still hiring SEs right now so I doubt they'll get whacked.
My friend just hired as an SE and starts training next week. Would be kind of expensive for them to hire SEs for just a couple or three weeks and let them go, wouldn't it?
Oh well.
Yes, he was peaceful because he was so whacked out on drugs. He was a drug addict who wrote songs.
Pure and simple - no big thang...
