the accounts. I happen to know they AINT good and the blanks keep rolling in and are passed on to the hospitals because Amherst QA does not fill them in for whatever reason. Probably too stupid to understand the hard STUFF. I do QA and I know this is true.

There's one thing that I've seen stop many many people....
A heart attack or cancer. My father-in-law SWORE he could not quit not matter what, but had a coronary and that was his last cigarette. My own father quit cold turkey after 3+ packs a day when he began coughing so hard he couldn't catch his breath. I've also known people who had a cancer scare and were able to quit. If nothing else, FEAR will do it. Unfortunately, waiting for the fear might be too late for many.
Dont you think some of the better work and ASR work goes to the newbies they are hiring lately. I
am sure it goes somewhere because I will be finished with all jobs and the next morning there is ASR work from 14 hours ago. Odd right. Where was it. Probably in another pool so we dont get it and others do. I am pooled for ASR so I would have gotten it but didnt.

I don't think thehospital I work at is hiring.
We are over staffed right now. They treated me like gold when there was lots of work. But now that the work load is low, we are not worth as much.
They opened up a new surgery center and it is its own entity as they hired their own MTs, thus that took away about 30% of our work.

It's kind of bland, most people don't like the texture....
I usually marinate it in soy sauce and spices, then coat it in wheat germ or sesame seeds. Fry in extra virgin olive oil for about a half minute on each side then add to stir fry veggies. It will do WONDERS for your whole body. I brought my cholesterol down nearly 50 points in 6 weeks by changing my diet and my skin looks at least 10 years younger. It's amazing what transformations have happened.

But if you want the contract renewed or you want continued employment, common decency is called for.

I really admire people that can make that kind of money
but knowing the hours she must work, and the days she must put in (probably all week plus the weekend), that's just not for me. Money isn't everything and I'd rather make my $40,000 and have my weekends free and work my 8 hours, five days a week and be done. Again, this is just me. Now if I could make that money working normal hours, I'd be happy. (I can dream can't I?)

that has kept my ENTIRE family from the church. We had neighbors who would just look down while walking to their car on their way to church. My mom would always frantically wave and they would just look terrified! She is so harmless. She really is. I don't deny the other posters above that there is something wrong with her, but she's always lived life to the fullest.
If you pray, remember Ann. She had major surgery today for tumors in her lymph nodes. This may be cancer coming back. Biopsies will return in a week. We are all so anxious. I wish I could be there for her. It breaks my heart. She lives over 2,000 miles away. I am her middle daughter. She has no one up there but my dad who just called and said she was in recovery with drains sticking out of her body. I just sent 2 bouquets of flowers via the internet which I know she will love (one from me and one from sis).....Thanks for your kind words towards my mom who really does love everyone!! She just has a "funny" way of showing it.

MTs complaining they are not finding jobs, or if they are the pay is extremely low. Seems to be a lot of posting mostly about no work...
I was kind of curious where all the work has been going, much more so than the usual slow times...

Maybe if you all spent less time complaining and more time doing quality transcription work we could meet TAT and make a profit. If not for you maybe HCR would not be so quick to sell us.
Another thing, for people who have never met Dennis you are being quite judgemental and cruel. He is actually a nice person, but he has a boss just like all of us and has to answer to his boss. The issue is not with Dennis. The issue is with HCR and not wanting to keep a company that is not making money, which is a result from missing TAT and poor quality from transcriptionist.
You may not like what I have said, but too bad. The truth sometimes hurts.

If you do hire subs, then do your homework. Check references. It seems there have been a few posts this week regarding MTSOs that have been burnt. Welcome to the field of subcontracting. It all boils down to doing your own work and not trying to make money off of someone else's work. If you do not like the quality of someone's work, then do it yourself. 
My people skills are just fine. I just want to hire people who want to work.
I've not been ugly, I've asked questions, legitimate ones. Please tell me what is wrong with that. This site is not just for MTs, it is for QA Editors, Supervisors, Service Owners, there's even sections for Billers, Coders, and Nurses.

Yes, I work 80-90 hours a week. I am going to stop because life is passing me by and it has caused
depression. There is no way mentally or physically you can keep up the pace. It is finally getting to me and I now realize there are more important things in life than work. I have been a workaholic all of my life. It started as an escape to a bad marriage but I ended up missing my kids grow up, I've lost friends because I have no time for them, and this is my last chance with an 8-year-old child left at home to get it right and put my family first. It means giving up a lot of "material things" but what do they matter when all you need is the love of your family. I'd never recommend this to anyone.

I am finishing my studies to be a teacher and it should be pretty good money and rewarding, but standing in front of people *blech*.
I'm trying to get over my stage fright. Any suggestions for stage fright?
That kind of money is what has sent work overseas, IMO.

It depends on what kind of work you're doing..sm...
If you're doing clinic work, you would need the book that pertains to your clinic. I'd also recommend a Stedman's Abbreviations, acronyms & symbols. I'd also recommend Sander's Pharmaceutical Book. Other than that, I'd use Google and trustworthy websites.

people and that is probably the situation here. You could ask but you'll probably get a response similar to above, that FT get the work first.

I saw an ad on one of the other boards, thought I had seen mention here not too long ago of not enough work for those who were there. Just wanted to find out what the situation is now before I go any further in pursuing anything with them. TIA!

I have a friend who is off this week and she called assuming I could just go do stuff with her...no wonder she always asks me for so many favors...apparently people think we get paid for doing nothing! I bet they wonder why my house is such a mess if that's the case! LOL

The ones who say they are happy are the ones that don't really need a good pay check (older ladies who basically work for the insurance and a little extra cash). The others say that they can definitely tell a big difference with them not paying for spaces. They all say the people are nice though and offer good bonuses for extra work on the weekend at times. I've also heard that there are a lot of ESL doctors. I tested and was offered 9.5 cents with them, but everyone else I've heard says they were offered 8 to 8.5 cpl????
Too bad for all the people that go there and have no work. I am not the least bit impressed with
Dixie. Maybe she had better refer people to offices of MQ where there is work before she tells everyone how great MQ is across the broad. Maybe we all have gone and gotten other jobs because we have no work at MQ. Maybe you if you arent Dixie can enlighten that lady about the other side of MQ she seems unwilling to talk about. How about that.

to work. Much too stressful to fight for work. Life is too short for me to take the money I already earn to spend on a physician prescribing nerve pills.

Those people obviously do not work full time or want to
make a good living. I would work at McDonald's before I would let someone take my house. If someone is not making enough money in this field, it is them, not the industry. Tired of everyone tip-toeing around this issue. The money is there but you need to buckle down and do the work. Stop whining and start working.
