I'm not the original poster, but I'm doing a lot of testing and it's wearing me out to do the Real Player manually. Per your advice, I downloaded the Express Scribe, but can't figure out how to dump my voice files from the various on-line tests. Can you explain simply how to do it (I'm a moron about this stuff but willing to learn!). Thanks for the tip; even if I just have to use their hot key controls, it will be much better than the stop/start on the Real Player.

same thing probably around the same time you posted yours. Where I live, there is a place who buys out overstock, sell outs, etc. It is much cheaper than lumber liquidators even (although that is where I would go if this place were not around). He just has a big warehouse and we did our bedroom, huge family room and hallway with the same thing, 25 year warranty, best you can get and it was just a little over 600 bucks! It was going to cost us more than that just to do the bedroom if we bought it at Lowes or Home Depot.
This guy is amazing who has this place but you just have to look around. There is so much stuff and it is so big that you have to go for one thing at a time because it will overwhelm you. Luckily it is right by our house.

It sounds so ridiculous and self-important. I hear this myself thing all the time, and it drives me crazy.
Actors on talk shows especially love to say things like: "Yeah, it's myself, (why are you putting yourself first - it's like it's doubly wrong!) Richard Gere, and Julia Roberts in the movie." (I heard an actor do this 4 times during a 5-minute interview. I was yelling at the TV! ;o)
Noooo, it s/b: "It's Richard Gere, Julia Roberts, and me in the movie." (What's wrong with little old me?)
It's like when people incorrectly use the word *I* when *me* would be correct. (Like saying: "Come with John and I to the party," instead of correctly saying "Come with John and me to the party.")
They say it thinking *I* sounds better. I think it's the same thing with *myself.* It sounds correct to those who don't know better (and you'd think doctors would know better). To those who do know better, it just sounds... silly!
One other pet peeve is that I constantly hear (even on the local news, which really drives me crazy) people say *there's* instead of *there are.* Example: "There's many reasons to exercise." There is many reasons? No! There are. (In casual conversation, not a big deal. But on the *news*? Wow.)

Being these are pretty darn important documents, it's equally as important for us to get it right as it is for them to slow down so we can truly actually hear what they're trying to say. It's a joint effort that often falls short on their end for whatever reason.

My sister is a big 'ol gossip. She has talked about me more times than I can remember and she has been telling our mom on my all my life. She and I would have bitter fights as adults and not speak for months at a time, but then one day I realized that she's never going to change. So I basically stopped confiding in her things I didn't want to the world or my mom to know and moved on. We have a great relationship now mostly because I won't allow myself to be in a position where she can make me angry.

Great post and i agree 100%. As a former depressed person myself, ,I learned that the most depressed
people are self-centered whether they want to admit or not. I stayed in my cave and only talked about me and my problems and I was severely depressed (runs in family)
After I found God and started attending church regularly, I have completely changed and am off medications. I also give lovingly now to my husband, children, family, and friends and have recently taken over teaching a large woman's Bible study class locally and have never experienced such joy, peace, and happiness in my life.
It wasn't until I began taking my eyes off of me and started looking around at others in more desparate situations that I began to learn the true meaning of life.
Great post. I, too, think fasting is a life-changing exp. When I fasted from food for the first time (I am very overweight :) it was one of the most powerful experiences of my life. There's just something about withholding something that you truly desire or want - it's like putting out flames to a destructive fire within you and it feels GREAT!!!!

It is an INSULT to have QA hovering over seasoned MTs who know what they are doing. She trusts her MTs and again if there are questions there is one person, a trainer, who can answer them via phone, e-mail or instant message or you can send the whole report to them if you choose.

When you have a QA person that is picky and another QA person that is very lenient where does that
leave the MTs because some are getting a lenient reviewer and others are getting one that picks at everything. How do you reconcile that issue with the difference in QA mentality. Some people make out well and the other people could be just as good but dont. I wonder about that.

I know two doctors who live here and do help in their home countries. One from South Africa, the other from Mexico. One goes back each year to hold clinics where they operate on children.

Pressure was put on Nixon from the courageous and so right protestors to end our participation in a wrong war a war we were in because we didnt want the South Vietnamese to become communist, which happened anyway. The protests at Kent State were peaceful except some students started throwing rocks at inexperienced guardsmen. The guardsmen were called before the protest to keep calm on campus, which is something that should never be done and was never done before. You do not turn military against student protestors. You do not use military to guard Americans, that is what police are for. Only during Martial Law can you have military take over American streets. We have a right to protest. When the students saw the guardsmen, some threw rocks. The guardsmen then shot their guns. Trust me, this is how it went. It is burned into my psyche.

I wouldnt let it get me down. I dont feel like you should go back to school. It takes time to do the more difficult doctors. Unless you did not go to school and do good. Only you know how well you learned and whether or not you feel comfortable with doing transcription.
I think this lady was aggravated and took it out on you. Dont give up.

it is bigger equipment and expensive. AND they never worked so I did not owe them any money. Some were so "anxious" to work that I spent a small fortune sending it overnight so they could "get started" because they really needed to work. I want to believe in the best of people, but it is getting harder and harder.
