Yes there are many

as you described, but I believe there are many like myself and Red. Sure I could produce MORE if I didn't have the kids here, but that is a sacrifice I make - financially not quality-wise. I still double the MQ minimum and when the kids are in school I will be back to tripling it. I work the majoroity of my hours when they are sleeping/napping. I have a pretty good set up going, but I know my limitations. I didn't get into this for the purpose of staying at home with my kids. I became an MT at 19 years old, some 20 years ago, way way WAY before kids were in the picture :-)

And I might add that I have also known MTs who didn't have kids or whose kids were grown who were pretty undependable and unproductive. So you just can't paint everyone with the same brush. I think it is about work ethic more than motherhood.
