Wireless routers have wired ports that can be used for wired connections and can also support wireless interfaces. You can plug one or more computers directly into the router and still use the wireless access for your work computer. I used a Linksys Wireless-G router (bought it at Sam's Club) and it had 4 wired connections and also supported wireless. However, in case you don't know, wireless connections are much slower. We actually quit using our wireless router because even the wired connections were terribly slow when there were wireless devices attached to the network.
