I have 4 brothers, no sisters..
In our case, we all get along well except for one brother who is a total jerk. He's a jerk to all of us, including my parents (for which I CANNOT forgive him), and then has the nerve to be shocked and "hurt" when nobody wants anything to do with him or his equally insensitive wife. It seems there is always someone messing things up - what a waste.
Sometimes I get sad and really wish I had a sister, but when I see how awful some sisters are to each other, I am thankful I don't. Besides, two of my brothers are absolute princes, especially my baby brother. He is kind, gentle, generous, and a million times the man my stupid jerk brother is.
No, both my brothers saved up and bought what they could afford ($500) , I was not
so a car wasn't even in my horizon....but 2 of my friend had parents who had gotten them USED older cars so I got around okay (I had to find my own transportation everywhere). My dad did eventually get me a car though after I wreaked the one I was borrowing from him (brakes failed- 1960 Corvair)-- the car/wagon (1985 used) was $6000 (this is in 1987) and was my graduation gift from college. --- I used it for 2 years, put way to much money into it for repairs, and then sold it and bought with my own money a 1987 Blazer for $11K. I paid my own insurance once out of college, but my parents paid for it up until then though I did work 3 jobs while in school but that money was for books, etc, food, etc. Parents covered tuition, I did the rest. We will probably buy a used car for them to USE from time to time when the time comes as we are in the boonies and it would simplify things, but it certainly would not be THEIR car.

I still crack up at the time my dad came home from work to find my 2 eldest brothers room a shambles with clothes strewn all over the place. Being a senior and junior in high school their clothes WERE prize possesions..until that day when they got pitched out the window into the backyard full of mud from all the spring rain.
Now that one worked as they never ever let a pair of shorts even touch anything but their dirty clothes basket. Now, I'm using the same standard on my boys and just the uncles telling that story keeps them in line

When is the last time you hung around at an elementary school? Yes, all the little boys in kindergarten and first grade race around after school trying to smack each other in the butt or the crotch. I don't know why they do it. I don't like it, and I don't tolerate it. I even tell the other kids in front of their parents to knock it off. Don't even tell me to watch my generalizations because I've seen it with my own eyes. It doesn't make them little perverts. It just means some parents need to teach their kids about boundaries and inappropriate touching. My kids never, ever did it until the other kids at school did it to them first. I do not like it one bit, and I told the parents of the other kids.

GO MICK, forever young.....I thought he had the body (neck down) of a 30-year-old man last night. Obviously, some don't REALLY check out BODY and BODY LANGUAGE. And most people are not in as great a shape as MICK even 20+ years younger and then some.....or at his age of 62.
Today's 80 is yesterday's 60, today's 60 is yesterday's 40, today's 50 is yesterday's 30, and today's 40 is yesterday's 20+.....thank goodness I'm right in one of those categories and moving along with those new age values that have been online for over 10 years that I know of, with no plastic surgery because, you see, it's only and always been about attitude in this life. I had PC Shorthand, for which I paid myself, and good money too, and before that, Productivity Plus (wasn't that the first one?), for which the company paid. Then the platform changed to software that was not compatible with P-Plus (or with transcriptionists, for that matter, LOL) and it was either buy your own or go without. And that was years ago.
Now I've heard that some MTSOs are actually charging hundreds of dollars for their software so you can work for them! First, years ago now, they quit providing you with a computer or any tech support, and then have the nerve to demand that you pay to work for them. YEE-ESH! I mean, really! I'd rather scrub public restrooms as long as the employer provided the brush! Take serious. There is a word for such blatant jerks, but it's too obscene to post, so I'll just call them "anal orifices". :D :D

I encourage you to stay with your pet in your home. If you are stupid enough to put animals above the welfare of humans, we, the rest of the human race, can do without you.
I do not want to be exposed to someone's animals with their ticks, fleas, dander and fur while I'm trying to ride out a storm in a shelter.
You have no right to inflict your animals on me. I do not want my tax money going to feeding and housing someone's pets (unless they are a helping animal, like a "seeing eye" dog or one of the dogs and monkeys that help disabled people.
You idiot animal lovers who put your pets before people need to put up the money to build/rent your own shelters for animals and leave the rest of us out of it.

the family, phone or doorbells? I swear my 2 dogs have it in for me today. I didn't take them for their 1/2 hour walk this morning and now they are being absolutely horrible. Won't leave me alone for anything. Yikes, what a mistake. Yep, this is the absolute worst they have ever been. One at the door staring at me and the other under the desk pawing my leg. I've skipped the walk for 2 days now. Tomorrow I won't and I bet they leave me alone! Shame on me. Full moon maybe?

...funny you should bring that up. I have been so
busy with school and work, my normally sweet cockatiel birds have been monsters!! I have a large office and a couple of months ago they decided they wanted to stay there so I moved in there. What a pain! They sense when I'm stressed and rushing. That's when the screaming starts. I had to leave my office for a half hour, and when I came back, the new telephone cord was chewed off, my papers were chewed and shredded, and one bird was shredding my reference books!!! They are so demanding. If I don't pay attention to then for a half hour before I start working, I will pay dearly!!! But I do so love them!

Have a chair behind my work chair and I HATE when at 2-3am, my cat wants my attention and all of a sudden I feel this "tap" on my back ..no one else here but me but I swear everytime he does that it scares me to death lol

Has anyone ordered pet meds from Entirely Pets?
My dog has Cushings and is on $200.00/mo worth of meds and we are going broke between them and the $1000.00/year testing needed, not to mention shots, etc. We are paying about $80.00/month for one medicine. I found it at Entirely Pets for $32.00/mo - a big savings. The package they show is the exact same as what we get from the vet, the dosage and the # of pills is also the same. I read the description and it doesn't say anything about it being a generic or anything else that would raise a red flag. I checked this med at 1800PetMeds and it is $60.00/month there.
I'm going to ask my vet tomorrow what she thinks. I don't think she'll have a problem with me getting meds from another source but I'd like to hear feedback from an outside party too.

It's neither the cheapest nor the most expensive carpet. Look around your area for a discount place as you can oftentimes find name brand carpets at a reduced price due to overstocks, discontinued items, etc.
I so hoped they would. I felt for that little boy and others who had to leave their pets.

I wish more people would spay, neuter and take care of the pets
they've already got instead of expecting everyone else to deal with their problem. I get tired of the loose animals running around our neighborhood. People just dump their animals because they can't be bothered to care for them. We've got hundreds of cats running around having kittens all over the place. The kittens wind up feral. My pets are "rescues", but I can't take on any more. I won't, either. It's like kids. Don't have more than you can properly take care of. Don't expect me to take care of the problem you created either.
I do dog sitting but screen owner and pets carefully. I won't take just anyone.

My parents use it
I can't help you with the pre-exisiting conditions question, but my parents use AARP for all of their insurance needs. They saved a lot of money when they switched and have been very happy with them.

My parents "spared the rod" and I'm now (sm)
a self-sufficient, responsible, mature adult, furthering my education, handling my responsibilities, and not calling home begging my parents for money. So just because some parents "spare the rod" doesn't mean their kids are going to turn out to be spoiled little bloodsuckers the rest of their lives. There are other ways to discipline kids without spanking. Yes, some kids need a good spanking once in a while, IMHO, but there are other forms of discipline that are equally as effective. Just my opinion.

I don't have issues with my parents are they are
both deceased, but I have "disowned" all my brothers and sisters and nieces and nephews. I grew up believing I was the black sheep of the family and maybe I am, but their lives are so screwed up and I never heard from them unless they needed something and there was lots of bitterness and anger about various events - mainly my parent's death. The only way I was able to deal with the issues was to disown them. I was not interested in making things better because they aren't willing to make an effort and I just don't have time for that.
My oldest sister hated my mom and was very ugly to her. My mom did so much for her. All I heard was what a lowsy mother she was. Well, my sister's daughter had a baby and gave it away, did drugs big time, drinking big time, has lived with several guys. Her son is gay and can't hold a job, has had so many wrecks he has lost his license twice that I know of. They just keep buying him vehicles very time he wrecks one. He can barely make a move without having to ask mommy, is a druggie/drinker/liar. Only my sister can't see all of this. We all make mistakes and I don't claim to be a perfect parent, but.....
My parents are retired and
do very well on their savings. It's called preparation. People make their own choices. If you don't PREPARE and do not take RESPONSIBILITY, you will eventually be in such a sad situation. It's not anyone's fault but their own for making poor decisions or failing to make better ones.
Morally, yes - I think other aid should become available to the "mom and pop" situation you are talking about but not reporting and paying taxes on income? No. That is wrong, period.
My boys were taught to pay taxes on their incomes from various jobs. They paid taxes and they paid tithes on it, no matter what it was.
It's called DOING THE RIGHT THING...which seems to be a forgotten concept among the older ones and a brand-spanking new concept among the young ones.
Tax evasion, dear, is ANYONE who fails to report appropriately. They may spend the bulk of money going after big bucks tax evaders but the crime is still the same. It is dishonest and it cheats every loyal, law-abiding citizen.
It doesn't matter if the job is easy or or not (i.e., your reference to house cleaning not being easy). THat has nothing to do with whether a person deserves to report/pay taxes on their income or not.
