Yes and no

I read what Consumer Reports said about it before I bought it and they were pretty much right.  However, there are some caveats - There are several models and many "extras" so some shopping around would be useful.  Also, because they are engineered in the USA but mfg'd in China, the lemon ratio is fairly high so it's best to buy it somewhere that has "lifetime warranty" like Sears or Hammacher Schlemmer (sp?) or such.  Also, I have short hair and only one cat, so I may not put it to the test like the person who has lots of animals.  There is a Yahoo group that compares experiences with it, you might check that out.
