Yes, independent contractors (like myself) are not "entitled" to benefits - however, if you could work for a company and design it to fit your needs, what would you ask for besides great line rates and a continuous work flow? If I can find this out - I might be able to make it happen. I have an investor who is willing to believe in me and help me open an MT company. Yes, it will make me the enemy (an MTSO!) but having been an MT for over twenty years, having watched my salary go down, seeing so many MT's lose their work to nationals and, now, to outsourcing, I would like to at least try to bring some of those jobs back and still be able to be "fair" to the MT's who work for me. Why not? Yes, I have to make a profit but I also need to get and retain good MT's! I know I would have liked to have the opportunity to pick those benefits that would have kept me happy when working for others. Don't you want that chance too? Well, here it is. I can ask for the moon from my money-man and maybe we can settle for the stars instead. Just tell me what you would want and I can at least see if it is feasible.
