Yeah, men have no sense at times - sm

as for the plantar warts they can take at least 3 months of repeated treatment to go away. I have had them twice. I used mole skin treated with muratic acid both times. The first time took about 3 months of repeat applications. The second time worked a lot faster (about a month), whether it was stronger the second time or I did it better (I was 14 the first time) who knows. The acid ate away the warts and my foot is fine now. I hope you don't have to have them burned off, and I hope your son heals up well. Did you explain to you Ex that burning in this case means using liquid nitrogen, not heat? Totally amazing, too bad your son did not tell him to go burn himself with the knife and see how it felt.

Not true. There are times that renting a home and leasing a car make more sense.
than outright purchase. Do your homework.
Yeah, you make a lot of sense! Stupid.
Yeah, we are immature. I find it funny that you think people who enjoy their jobs are immature and have multiple personality disorders. So wake up ugly and go find a shrink.
Yeah, but good times or bad, people still get sick, hurt
I do mainly pediatric oncology, orthopedics and GI, and it seems to be increasing, not slowing down.
Heck yeah. Need leaders to come forward, moderators, a sense of patriotism (we pay taxes).

Coimbatore ready to spin a different storey

The Manchester of South India, Coimbatore, is still brimming with a lot of positive energy as far as the real estate scenario is concerned. The
city, with a population of 1.8 million people, has a few pan-India players in the real estate market but the 35-40 odd local developers are confident of staying in business despite the economic slowdown.

Though many are in the wait-and-watch mode, buyers are looking at this growing city as the place for long-term investment, especially on the residential front. Industry experts say majority of the buyers are from nearby cities like Chennai and Bangalore and non-resident Coimbatoreans and NRIs, who want to settle here post retirement.

The latest Jones Lang LaSalle India30 Real Estate Opportunities in Tier III cities identifies Coimbatore as one of the top 10 growing consumer markets. “Though Coimbatore stands low on current office market activity, the growing engineering and IT potential is sure to throw up opportunities for the real estate market in the next few years,” said experts.

“The prices are marginally down by 5-10% in Coimbatore but the situation will not worsen any further. Land prices are going up and construction costs have increased. We don’t see any downslide on price aspect,” said Omkar Mohan Sankar, a real estate developer in the city.

According to him, the city has perfect attributes such as excellent locale, ideally set in the footsteps of Nilgiris, pleasant climate and sweet Siruvani water. Further, it is an education and healthcare hub and the two industries are recession proof.

Though textile industry is going through tough times, work options are increasing as nearby districts such as Tirupur, Erode and Karur are fast catching the attention of world markets with their fashion products.

Also, with the entry of big players such as L&T and Suzlon in the engineering industry, more investment is expected in real estate market. “Once the companies look at increasing their work force, the requirement for housing would increase and the residential value in the city will go up,” said market sources.

State-owned Electronics Corporation of India’s Tidel Park in IT-SEZ is expected to be ready by January and is likely to provide employment to nearly 12,000 people, which means more residential space will be needed. The Wipro development centre inside the IT-SEZ is also nearing completion and more IT companies like TCS and HCL have plans here.

The city already has the presence of global engineering and IT giants like Robert Bosch and Cognizant and big IT & ITES players like Perot Systems and Spheris. “The city is looking at employing 20,000 more and even if 20% opt for new homes, there would be a demand for 4,000-5000 houses soon,” said Mr Rajesh B Lund, VP, Confederation of Real Estate Developer’s Associations of India.

Sense of humor intact! Sense of hope as well! LOL

Yep, I knew it was advice, and I appreciate ALL points of view as it gives me perspective.  8-)  I've been reading the boards for a while now, and I realized that I'd get the good, the bad, and the ugly, and that's okay!

However, I specifically asked for advice about how to do it rather than whether to do it, though, as I've already decided to defy the odds and give it a go.

Enjoyed the NCLB reference, by the way!

Yeah, yeah, that should be "your work..."

Make sense

She didn't send her daughter off anywhere.  The girl was 18 right???  She is an adult and can go wherever she wants at that age.  What could her mother do?  And how do YOU know if you would shoot your mouth off or not if YOUR child was killed and taken from you?  How do you know what  you would do?

She will never see her daughter again.  Hello, of course she is handling it badly.  GEEZ.  HELLO??????

Ah, so you know her personally? What I sense from you is

Take a cold shower, Billie Jean!

Sense of humor.
I have been in the same situation with doctors not spelling out names, etc. I have just quit a national company and have been wondering what to do next. When I read these postings today, I could not help but laugh. Keep your sense of humor as it helps the rest of us get through our days too.
that makes sense.

Thanks, of course I used common sense...sm

before I posted and waited until not only after the press release but after the details came out. We were carefully briefed early on on the details of what was and wasn't okay.

My daughter is going out of her skin waiting to hear.  She loves history and current events at school, particularly the mock elections, etc.  I just think it is a wonderful opportunity to give her this early in life. I hope it makes a huge impression if she gets to go as far as the importance of exercising her right to vote, etc.

That makes sense. - nm
.
ok now that makes more sense.
I believe in spirits too.  Animals can sense those kind of things better than we can.
LOL you make sense (sm)
I was just needing to vent so much, and almost gave a little more specifics which would have given it away what happened was very recent.
That makes sense. SM
I honestly don't know what all it entails with keeping up a forum like this.  But I think this is the best one out there and I was just worried that something was happening.  I applaud EVERYONE who keeps this going.  I am sure a lot of us out there does not know what all it takes.  Thanks for having such a good place to come to for our profession!
you need a sense of humor
Get over your bad self. The woman was having fun with a difficult situation - most psychologists would say that is healthy.

As far as your sour attitude - glad you're not in my church.

People whose English language skills are very poor should not be doing jobs where they have to give "Customer support" or "customer service" to English-speaking customer - period. They need to improve their English skills.

If you went to India, do you think they would give you a job speaking in their dialect? Certainly not. They, and most other countries, will not hire foreigners to do jobs that their own citizens are qualified to do. The U.S. is about the only country that does not protect the jobs of its citizens.
makes no sense
The people in MY area were white and waited 11 days.....so explain that one to me.   A disaster is a disaster, and I wouldn't have gone in to do anything with people shooting at me, regardless of color.  New Orleans was a sewer anyway, we were only 50 miles from it and never went over there.  Our news came out of there and it was non stop murders, drugs, etc.  People would come down there for conventions and get robbed, raped, murdered.  It was a daily occurrence.  It's common knowledge that the murder rate for New Orleans is 800 times the national average. What's that tell you?
Makes better sense.
I agree you should call. Don't stay in the dark about any of it ever. Your health could depend on it. However, why are you furious? I wouldn't be furious. I think your husband is telling the truth, just think this whole thing is silly and a big mess. If the friend chooses to sneak around like the cheat that he is, he really shouldn't involve others to screw up their message along with his. Just politely ask her what you want to know, politely please. You have that right. Give me the number. I'll call her. Just tell me what you want to know. Kidding but if you have a sister or someone who can stay calm, why not?

Your husband would call the number if a guy called your cell#. They can dish it but can't take it. Ego waaay too fragile.

Wishing you the best in your situation but please be totally calm when you do. Innocent until proven guilty.

me
None of that makes any sense.

I believe what she is saying is how to get relief NOW, since perhaps she does not have the funds to pay them?  She cannot very well take a time machine back one year and save up the money now can she?
Well, yes, that makes a lot of sense.

Makes sense, but
Your conclusion makes sense to me as presented, but most MTs are not salaried, though considered employees.  So, how do they get by without having to pay OT?
Well, that makes sense
So I guess I should actually pursue that coding course, then. Thanks for the info.
Well of course they do. It makes sense considering that they can't

Keep in mind that the average offshore MT can only produce around 500 lines a day, FULL TIME.

Makes no sense

All of us morons are wondering... Since you are happily employed and if it wasn't for a test... then why were you in such a *hurry* to have that question answered?  Why would you need a list?

Doesn't make much sense...and to attack over it?

Glad you got your laughs and your answer.

Thanks - that makes sense.

Oh...that makes more sense

I was a newbie who actually tried, but I know a few who do what you described.  It would be frustrating to clean up after "them."

No sense is buying anything until you have a job.
Transcribers are rarely used anymore unless you get a local account.  C-phones are still used occasionally, but most work is done using a foot pedal.  If a company requires a foot pedal to test you can use Express Scribe, which is free, and just use the hot keys.  I wouldn't want to use hot keys all the time, but they are fine for testing.
Did you have your sense of humor
!
You make no sense to me. (sm)
Here is a professional discussing a problem with our profession ... and it is a problem. Not only don't you want to talk about it, but you seem offended that anybody else does?

It seems like you are confessing to be somebody who has a lot of feedback from QA, and it makes you mad, and they should stop because you don't care. Are we supposed to think you are smart and wonderful, and we should drop the conversation because you don't like it?
that would seem to make sense
Because you are now having to pay your own taxes. My husband and I figure 30% could go to taxes.
Makes no sense
Yeah, I ran into some of that at a former job - we were supposed to fill in the ordering physician from a huge database, going by doc names that were verbally dictated and never spelled.  It was a huge time waster and very frustrating.  Having worked in-house in the past, I couldn't believe they didn't make whoever entered the order add that info, which was in print and right in front of them at the time the order was put into their system.  In-house we never would have wasted the doctor's/transcriptionist's/QA's time to mess with these.  It should always be done clerically on their end, IMO, because they have the patient and the hard copy right in front of them, as well as local knowledge which we of course do NOT have.
That makes more sense!
Express Scribe is used for the audio portion and Scribe (a Word-based platform) for the actual transcribing portion. Yes, you will be able to check your line counts. Welcome aboard...I work for the same company.
This makes sense. Thanks.

Makes sense
Actually, it makes sense in a way.  Many women do not have maternity coverage on their personal health insurance or on their parents health insurance.  Back when I worked in an Ob/Gyn office, we had to document this because of the date of effective coverage on their new husband's health insurance policy, ie - the wedding day.
Seems like common sense
The negative effects on our health really does seem like common sense.  I love the peace and quiet of working nights, and in the days when I used to work graveyard shift outside of my home, I loved going to the grocery store and running other errands early in the morning when places were was less crowded.  But, I have to admit that working nights kind of leaves me with less than an energetic, healthy feeling.  Through trial and error, the best compromise that I've found for me is to make sure that I sleep at the same time every day, whether or not I am off work for that day, and make sure that I get 5 hours or more of sleep during the dark hours.  I've found that the rhythm of this plan has made all the difference, which is no surprise.  This, of course, is easiest to do in the wintertime.
that makes no sense.
but i don't think OP has any clue what she's 'hearing.'
Is this not common sense?

I think maybe my first month or so of doing MT I would actually try to look up stuff as I came to it.  It doesn't take long to figure out that is the WORST way to do it.

Ahh, makes sense. TY!

Why not? Just common sense.
x
What? Makes no sense?

Your response makes no sense to me.  Your checks were lost in the mail by the MT Service you were working for?

I use offical checks and I certify them with a copy that I keep and I also pay by direct deposit.

If you have proof you were paid, what is the problem?

What??? This makes no sense.

Verifiable probably in the sense sm
that it's an easy way for the client to verify the count through an actual process or program rather than looking at an invoice that says x amount of lines.
I sense some envy here...
Not everyone wants to go digital.  Sounds like your nursing friend is probably making out okay since she hires newbies that work cheap...  hmmmm...
Makes sense to me.

it makes sense to me
I just moved from Washington to Mississippi, but I do not feel that my work is worth any less because I moved. If you want more bang for your buck, move to Alabama. I think that you will find that your money does not go as much further as you thought it would.
