Sending good karma and patience your way...
Patience is part of being a good MT. Do your own footwork. You won't regret it. nm

I have seen various things happen - sm
This should have been mentioned when you were hired. Sometimes it depends on how long you have been with them and what your previous audits have been. If you have had high, high audits previously and are just a little low this time then they will probably work with you. It also depends what your errors were. If you were guessing incorrectly all over the place, missing words, cannot punctuate to save your life, and were obviously just slopping through the report then it might be different. If you just simply missed the word "the" and only typed "patient" instead of "the patient" they will likely forgive the error more readily. Also, some companies do not tolerate medication errors at all, ever. So, so many variables in QA audits. I would e-mail them right away and ask what their policy is and what you need to do to improve your score for next time.
Actually with the way things are going right now with MQ it may be the best thing to happen because
they are certainly not making MTs happy campers that is for sure.
Your post above states that if alllll these things would happen, THEN
MTs would care about quality, loyalty....
I say you should care, period. If you're handed a bad hand, deal with it...or change games.
I know these things happen but the way OP posted it sounds like a troll posting to me.
:+
Hang in there sweet cheeks, something good will happen.
This is a rough field to be in - we know how frustrated and maybe a little frightened you feel.
Take some time to breathe and know that the universe is holding something good for you.
Never had this happen either. Email the SH people. They're very prompt with help. Good

Two good things
Quitting the smokes and exercising. You'll be a new woman!
Other good things to put in sm
I like to put in little cubes of cheese instead of shredded cheese. And I also add pepperoni and/or salami pieces (slices that have been quartered). Some people add cucumber, but I don't really like it in my pasta salad.
Other good things to add
My roommate and I made the Salad Supreme recipie but instead of Italian dressing we used ranch and I browned some frozen meatballs and cut those in half along with the green pepers and tomatoes and it turned out great!!!!
All Good Things
Wow! I have not thought about that way to transcribe in years. THOSE were the DAYS we got REAL LINE COUNTS!You are so lucky to find someone who still uses it. They are showing you that you are worth the money they pay you (unlike the platforms today).
You are welcome. Good things are just around the corner.
I have been where you are now. It is not fun, it is very upsetting and frustrating, but things will come your way soon. There are many accounts out there, you just need to find the right ones. All you need is one, and the rest will come by "word of mouth".
My advice is to just call and ask if they made a decision and if it is not you, then just thank them for their time and ask if it is okay if you check back with them periodically to see how things are going.
Good luck to you.
You mention some things you are not good at doing, but
try to think of something you may be good at. Not everyone on the outside is cruel and backstabbing. It sounds like you need to get out more and mingle. It is not healthy to spend hours in front of your computer and not interact with others except online. Do you have friends you socialize with? Sounds like the MT work at home is not going well for you. Don't give up on yourself. I hear your pain. Been there myself. It may be time for a new beginning. You are never too old for anything. Change your thoughts, and you will change your life.
Have always heard good things about X-Press
and have heard they pay really well
thanks!!! good website - learned new things
Good reasons to get more things worked out -
and in writing before accepting the job offer. I would work one weekend a month for average pay, two if the weekend pay was better. But not every weekend. Same goes for Friday nights. I prefer at-home to in-house environment-wise, but at-home pay is the pits, unless you're willing to work 16-hour days, 7 days a week, which is even worse than what you're doing now. I can't retire, either, even under the best of circumstances. But right now I'm having trouble just eating. I don't get paid 'til Friday, and my fridge has nothing in it except ice cubes.
If it is Accustat Carolinas..Yes that's true..among the other not so good things.

Good things take time. (this is addressed to OP, BTW) My first 15 years or sm
so of MT was without the benefit of using an expander. When Expanders became the norm, I was reluctant to try, thinking that it would be more cumbersome than by not using it at all. Was I surprised and pleased I had ventured into the Expander world.
Since you're at home you can add entries on your free time, even if you do 5 or 10 at a time, when there is no pressure on you. Start out with expanders for "the patient," "-year-old," the names of your doctors, anything that is repetitious. You will be surprised how much time this will save you. My initial expander, PRD, actually calculated saved Keystrokes and productivity. Back then I was saving 30%!
The expander is especially helpful for those crazy terms that are hyphenated or have camel caps, those that I always had to look up to check myself. Create your brief form by just using straight lowercase, for instance, duoneb for Duo-Neb (or d-n).
Speed will come, don't worry. Good luck to you!
(Posted in the wrong place--I always do that!) This is in response to OP.
going on my 17th year of it and feeling good about things sm
still loving it just as much. I work for a hospital and they just sent us home to type so everything is new again, new system, new challenges. I need to be challenged or I become bored, so enjoy things at the moment.
What I think is so sad is that people may give up good jobs to go there to find out these things all
to late. The newbies can learn and use MQ and move on which they do but of course the clients suffer then with all the people learning on them but this is what MQ causes and when they lose clients with poor quality or people that just throw out work then they caused their own problems. You cant keep good MTs with no work I dont care what incentives you offer because they mean nothing with no work ABSOLUTELY NOTHING. I wish people would understand that when MQ hires them.
I heard a lot of good things about them and am looking to purchase a laptop, so your information
is very helpful to me. Thank you!
Patience. (SM)
I do not live on this board 24/7. You made some good points in your post above and I will review posts later today as I have time.
Patience
I have worked for Med-Tech in Marietta for 5 years. The only time I had a problem with not receiving a check was due to a postal problem. I know they put the check in the mail but the post office screwed up. Also, they pay on the 1st and the 15th.
patience
Like the previous poster said, make a folder with all your QA corrections. When you get a contradiction, send those to the person in charge and ask which is correct. That's about all you can do at this point.
nothing to do with patience or impatience...
it's all about a "war against terrorism." Go get the terroists! not invade a country that had absolutely nothing to do with it.. Now he has a huge problem with terroists in Iraq because he HELPED make more terrorists with a breeding ground and "practice" for wannabe terroists. He could not have HELPED the terrorists more than he did when HE INVADED IRAQ! "War on terrorism?" Now, when we get hit again, and we WILL, our troops will be Iraq. Leadership? No. Idiotcy? Yes! Nothing to do with patience or impatience. It is all about leadership, or the lack thereof! But you people voted for him because of "religious" values. How religious is it to kill thousands of innocent women and children for NO REASON? Now he, and we, are in HUGE MESS, and he doesn't have a clue as to what to do next!
You must truly have the patience of a saint.

Y'know, patience is a virtue! SM

I have no patience for the condescending posts!
I've been lurking here for over a year and I'm amazed how nasty, consdescending and judgemental these people can be! Just like I don't do well with an employer treating me like crap, I don't do well with being "talked down to" by the rude posters on this board.
patience prudence..keep notes and continue to try.
Have patience!! Its a brand new program for at home
MTs, and I'm sure the Board of Directors or suits of whatever title are wanting some proof that the at-home MTs are to be trusted. Perhaps in a couple of months, once they know who they can trust to work and who not, the program won't be implemented as strictly as at the start. Sadly, while you may be a conscientious, trustworthy MT, many are not, particularly in house hospital MTs. Been there, done that! Sounds like a good change for you! Good luck!
Most companies won't have the patience for your lack of doing your own work. nm

Prizes are awarded the next business day. Thank you for your patience!

Personally I dont ridicule, but have no patience
Just saying "It is too hard to change" and "the company is making me poor/homeless/stressed etc is a cop-out. Get proactive and help yourself. And those that do play into the poor victim routine do not help fellow MTs, they just perpetuate the idea that MTs can do nothing to help their own situation.
That's just YOUR opinion, and you are a prime example of lack of patience. You want instant results
x
People have no patience anymore. I gave a $10.00 donation and I got an email the next evening.
I think since these people also have a transcription service, no one should expect an instant response. Besides, it's more about giving than getting anyway.
Bad things? what bad things? people's being petty and small?

how could it not happen?
and how could we have stopped accepting ESL's? I dont know about you but I have worked as an MT for many years and there is no way we could have stopped it. First of all, doctors come from all over the world, medicine is a universal language with many different accents..that is just the way it is. Most doctors I have worked with have accents. That is part of the job, learning ESL doctors. I personally dont want any work sent overseas, even the mumblers, ESL's, etc.
This used to happen to me
This used to happen to me back in the 1970s..When I told my doctor, he said it was just that I woke up before my body was able to start producing my chemistries and such fast enough..So I was suspended, if you will, for a few seconds, which felt to me like minutes..I can remember waking up in my mind but my body would not move and I would panic thinking I have to get up..move arm, move leg, get up!! I believe totally in the paranormal and spiritual word. I have had experiences in the spiritual world both with family who have passed, animals who have passed and just researching it myself..but..hmmmm..I will have to research what you post about the not waking experience..I tell you, it is quite a frightening experience. P.S.: I love Sylvia Browne..I have gone to three of her seminars in Los Angeles..
Does this every happen to anyone besides me? (please SM)
After transcribing for lengthy periods of time, do you feel irritable? Kinda like you want to run to the nearest window and jump out cause you feel all this inner energy but have to sit in a chair and type and it is driving you nuts?
I probably need to takes walks or do something physical but am working 8-10 hours a day.
Just wondering if I am going nuts or what. It is rather unnerving, this feeling. Maybe it is menopausal as I am nearing that age, also. Can anyone identify with this strange feeling?
Where did this happen?
/
Don't ever think it cannot happen to you. You are in
zz
this always does not happen
That is not true. There are too many people working and not enough work. They will always tell you the same thing; it is slow during the holidays, it is slow during the summer, it is slow in the fall, the holidays are coming, etc. there is a storm outside, anything to just shut us up. They just think we are stupid.
changes happen everywhere (sm)
I used to work for another company that has since changed its name and merged with another company. We had so many changes in the 2 short years I was there, enough to make your head spin. Most of the time they were changes not to the advantage of many, or they made it more difficult to keep up with the changes.
Having had this happen to me I am
going to tell you that you have to get a restraining order on him both personally and for a distance that includes your home and such. Then go to the phone and satellite people as well. If you give the phone people access they can monitor but you have to be willing to prosecute when they hit the nail on the head. I suspect it may well be the same with your satellite folks.
My husband had passed away and I got involved with someone who smelled money .. being an idiot I fell for all the honey/dearie stuff and it cost me money and it cost me my home and damned near my life .. never mind my self esteem. You had better come clean with your family and get their help because it is misery alone and that is where I was save for a few friends who almost did not believe me.
I never thought I would see the end of it .. but I am here alive and kicking and believe me it is a good lesson to learn. I am recovering slowly and have days I could probably commit murder yet, but first start with your computer and have it reformatted, get it cleaned up and then scan it every damned day if necessary.
Never had this happen (sm)
but common sense says she was scammed. Why would you have to pay to get a grant? Sounds fishy to me.
I have had this happen before...
and was told that it can just sometimes "happen". Sometimes the test can be done wrong, etc. Hopefully in your case, that will be it. In my case they did a repeat PAP smear, and everything was A-OK. Try not to worry and stress too much.
