Congratulations on the offer!!!

I really understand your predicament.  Let me share with you something my aunt shared with me a few years ago.

She worked as a large company and was offered a promotion that came with a yearly salary as opposed to hourly wages.  It looked like a very decent raise, and so she took the offer.

She said it was a very large mistake on her part.  She was literally on-call 24/7, including weekends, holidays, vacation, etc.  She was contacted at all hours day and night if there were a problem or concern.  If staff was short due to call offs, she was expected to go in (even on holidays or her days off) to fill the void.  If she tried to go on vacation, she had to leave contact information in case she was needed (and she was very frequently contacted about problems or with questions when she was supposedly on vacation). 

I went to work for the same company several years later.  I was quickly promoted, and my aunt told me to accept all of the offers of promotion I received UNLESS it comes with an annual salary rather than hourly pay.  She said once she accepted the annual salary position, her life was not her own any longer, the company owned her 24/7 and 365.  I always kept that in mind whenever I was offered a salaried position, whether by that particular company or any other company.

The job offer sounds wonderful, but if you can make that same amount of money now, and even more if you increase your hours with your current IC position, I'd suggest you give serious consideration to what sacrifices you may be required to make should you decide to accept the offer.  As another poster said, sometimes it's not always good to rock the applecart unless you absolutely have to.
