Too bad that you'll never know because you don't believe it's possible. Maybe you should come out of the dark and look at the possiblities that are awaiting in the light.

never mentioned in any way if they could help me, which is odd since she is generally very helpful. I call her 3-4 x a year with questions, policy changes (home, jewelry and 2 cars), rates, etc. I have some doctor papers/releases to sign, maybe I will run by her office and talk with her before signing them and get her take on things. We just got rid of the agent from heck....sm
We signed with an agent who for 3 months sat on her keister and didn't show the house but one time. The pictures she took were horrible (took a picture of one corner of a bedroom which was really stupid)- the house was empty as we'd already moved out. Every couple of weeks we called to find out what was happening on the house and all she said was "I'm sure it will sell soon. It's posted on our website and in MLS" She came to us with glowing recommendations - but the 2 people that highly referred her also had homes that were above $300,000 and ours was $140,000 - probably accounting for the difference in sales style.
Finally the 90 day contract with this lazy person ran out. We got the house sold on our own through word of mouth and saved thousands by not paying some lazy bum agent to sit on her butt and collect a check for doing nothing.
As far as the hype goes by realtors to use them or risk legal problems - a good closing attorney will make sure that all of the i's are dotted and t's are crossed, and that everything is spelled out in the contract that needs to be. On the 2 houses I've bought over the years the agent that I worked with basically did nothing more than show me a dozen homes (we knew the area we wanted and gave them specifics on the type of house we wanted) and passed paperwork back and forth. Each of them made a good commission for that. Next home we buy we'll look on the internet first at the Assist2Sell and similar sites to see if we can find something without using lazy agents who make thousands for doing a little bit of work.
Crusing the neighborhoods, have no agent
I have 25+ years acute care experience at 1000+ bed prominent teaching hospital. Have done EVERYTHING. QA always exceptional. +++ line production. BA degree in English. Recent management changes have prompted me to protect my interests against surprises. My question is (and forgive me if this is not realistic) where can I find an employer/client who has an appreciation for someone with my education, experience and line production ability. From time to time in the past, I've superficially explored other options and was shocked to find my worth was no more than a brand new MT. Is there no value or premium placed on MTs of higher quality than the run-of-the-mill MTs.
Please forgive me in advance if anyone takes offense. This isn't about me thinking I'm better than the rest - I know what I can do and have done so for many, many years. I just don't want to waste my time in bad neighborhoods when I know there are better zip codes. I just need an "agent" to steer me in the right direction.

I agree with using a real estate agent...
especially with the market being what it is right now. I will be putting my home on the market in a few weeks. I will want someone who sells homes full time, is a go-getter, has contacts in the field, etc., etc. I think the commission is worth it...especially considering the legal battles that could possibly ensue with the sale of real estate. PLUS, an agent will not deal with FSBO....so that eliminates a LOT of possible buyers right off the bat.
Just my opinion.

HELP with Shorthand. Suddenly today when I tried to start work today.sm
my ShortHand would type only the first letter of an expansion and then take all the letters away! I checked and the Type It button is grayed out! I have restarted the computer and looked on the Shorthand Help menu but can find nothing that applies. Can anyone please help me ASAP? I am lost without it! TIA

But this article states it would only affect new customers right now. So I am upset over nothing. I went through heck with BellSouth when they charged me a surcharge of an extra 50 a month and then would write a letter saying I had to switch to a long distance service and pay by the minute because of my "excessive" use. They told me the unlimited charge was for an average of an hour a day not somebody who worked out of their home and I needed to switch a business plan at over 200 a month charge. I switched over to cable because of that and then to read that cable was going to charging on a per use fee and not a flat monthly fee it upset me. It is the nature of our work, VR, only paying for VBC, having headers and footers taken away, now being charged for being on line, etc. It just seems that everything is done to keep to insure less money.
Again, DON'T go with a for sale by owner agent. Buy Owner is the same thing.

Blasted cold out today. It was 104 degrees last week, but it's 40 degrees today with rain.
However, I do like cozy days like today when I don't have to go anywhere. I'm done working, the house is clean, there's chili on the stove for dinner already, and I'm just putzing around. I think I'll go bake some jalapeno cheese bread to go with the chili.

If it were only adding up to three bucks, I wouldn't sweat it. $100? Yeah, that's baseball registration for my son for this year. I am not giving tabs, returns, etc. away free when it adds up to that much difference! Why should I charge less for a Return than I would for a"K"?

I would be willing to bet the majority of people posting negativity about MQ have been fired by them! I've been with MQ for over four years and am very, very happy. My check is always on time, sometimes early, I always have work, my coordinator is great, I can't say enough good about them. I would recommend you at least give MQ a chance. I admit, I was disappointed when they called me, but at the time, I just needed a job, so reluctantly I accepted their offer. Now four years later, I'm so glad I did. Everyone has their own opinion and experience about each company, and the same is with MQ. Not everyone will be happy there, but I certainly am. Good luck to ya!

If you allow yourself to fall into that pit of self destructiveness by playing 4th grade _the teacher hates me/likes me more than you_ routine, you only do yourself harm. Ask yourself...by having the information that someone is _getting away_ with something you can't, how can you _win_? You win by your superior skills. You learn and you thrive and if you need to, you move on. In the meantime, you learn things that you should have taught yourself as the proper way to transcribe 15+ years ago.
Someone who has been around for 20+ years and this was standard back then for quality MTing.

There are several. Most of them are made by
Infinity, but can be wired to work with various systems, so just because it is Infinity doesn't mean it will work with one particular system. If you don't already have a job that requires a pedal I would wait until you do. Some pedals are configured to work with proprietary software and are only good for one program. Some companies require serial port pedals, some game port, and some USB. You can get adapters to switch them, though they aren't always easy to find.

Yes, I have made the changes you outlined. Unfortunately, stuff like wthi and placentia have gone right on through. I work with Instant Text and the Expander will not run at the same time as Instant Text. Even if I turn the expander on, the first time I use the IT, the expander shuts off. Thanks for the suggestions!

One more thing - does naybody else rememebr those commercials - made in the USA, and "buy American" - I do, instead of outsourcing lets bring back the USA pride, If I could I would use USA instaed of my initials on documents I transcribe.

YES!! I made $15/hr at my first MT job...
and that was with excellent benefits back in 2001. I live in the midwest where the cost of living is very reasonable too. So, $12/hr for an experienced MT is awful! I only had experience as a medical assistant before becoming an MT and made more than that.

It seems they are developing a relationship. Also, don't forget, Angelina was the victim of a cheating husband and had her heart broken, so she knows that pain. I think Brad and Jennifer spent too much time apart. And he does have a history of falling in love with his co-stars - Gwyneth and Juliette to name two.

With hard work and encouragement, the helping hand from the government helped produce productive citizens. You had the advantage at least of an intact family. Think of a poor baby born to an uneduated teenager mother with no father. Without a lot of hard work and self determination, no amount of money from the govt. is going to end that vicious cycle.

Where do you work? I worked my fanny off, produced 10,000 lines per pay period and got only $800 per pay period, for about $16,000 a year since we do not get paid vacation. IT STINKS

someone who lives near me, an ex-MQ'er, who went to work there. She would never come back. We worked on the same account, which MQ is losing, expected to go live there before the end of the year. I wanted to stay with my account, of 7 years, had normals up the wazoo!

You may have already seen these, if not they are rather cute.
Purchase some plastic (deli type) disposable gloves. These are made to touch food, etc. Put a candy corn in fingertips (for fingernails) stuff rest with popcorn. Tie top with colored black/orange ribbon, and put plastic spider rings (found everywhere at halloween) on top of glove after they are stuffed. These are really kinda cute.
In OR I made $16.50/hr, in NE I was offered $11.30.

Just made the switch to
PC-Cillin from Norton. I heard from a guru that it was much better. My friend had Norton and it did not pick up a virus, and I was having a problem with my automatic scan. I had it set for every week, and sometimes it would run, other times not. I also have the Ad-Aware.

My personal experience with the good captain has also been unsettling. I have been with them for almost a year and it has been bad for half of that. Man am I tired of bounced checks, late checks, no work, and ridiculous reasoning. I have been appling with other companies but have not found anything yet. Good luck and lets hope the ship doesn't sink until we get off!!!
