My kids are now scurrying around doing chores. They do this every year, though. It's like they push and push to see how far they can go before we take away Christmas. Or maybe they're just bored. Too bad for them.

I spend most of my time working to pay my bills. Tv does not come on until I am done...no matter what that time is, or if it is already too late, i just go to bed.

is good enough to help these people. It's obvious that there are some underlying issues that need to be addressed.

Dr. Phil would say -- you are allowing them to do it to you and then ask "how is your present situation working" -- it is not so do something about it. I am sorry but kids these days need to take a little responsibility and do some the chores. everyone needs to pull their own weight. Believe me, those TV's would be unplugged and they would down to the bare essentials until they began to do more. You are not teaching them anything by doing everything. Also unless you ask, they don't know what is expected of them. They cannot read minds. Have a family meeting set up a list and time frame for things to be done and if they don't do it, well then something is taken away, video games, TV or whatever. There is no reason that any mother, father should not receive help from kids when both parents are working. I did it and I am sure you did it and it did not kill any of us, it prepared us for the world. So you need to talk to them, husband included and say if you want the financial picture to stay the same and with me working two jobs, this is what needs to be done. If you don't and we be out on the street, then I can quit and will have time to clean the portion of the street where we will be living or the car if we need to live in our car. Just me two cents worth.

I am quite fed up with Dr. Phil. He seems to be the expert on everything from weight loss, to addictions, to relationships. I heard he was so cheap, he takes free samples of anything he can get with all his money. Dr. Phil does not know everything.
If I were you and he were my DH, I'd make him take that job right. Like Dr. Phil says,
would you rather be right or would you rather be healthy? Who cares if you and he were "right." Put your pride aside and accept the offer for the job back. Obviously you need them and they need you (or they need him).

Seriously, I don't know what you can do about it. Probably absolutely nothing. You just need to be as supportive TO YOUR SON as you can be. You can let him know you don't agree with this but you love him anyway. Honestly, this will not last long. He may not even make it to the altar. As far as the girl....just tolerate her the best you can. I don't think she'll be in your life very long!! Good luck!

Grolier Book Publishers put out an entire series of books in 1980 for children on treating others as we want to be treated. My children had the entire set.....each book was written the same way (in kids language and drawings) but focused on one subject each book...i.e., Let's Talk About Bullying or Let's Talk About Stealing or Let's Talk About Cheating...and basically every subject. My children grew up being very very giving decent children, successful, and never got into any trouble (to write home about, just some school issues), and today I'm very proud!

But it DID manage to snap one of my trees in half, cause another tree to partially uproot, blow a plastic baby pool into our yard, and knock over our nice swing in the backyard! Look, stand up for your business. At 0.8 per gross line, with that many templates and time, she has no excuse but to get it right. None of my accounts would tolerate that. I have a dear friend who is in his early 50s. He has the standard headaches and takes his BC Powders.
Last year at Christmas he was going home for the holidays and I had gone by his office to wish him happy holidays, and he was literally laying on the table with the worst h/a ever he said. His eye was even a little blood shot (like you get with a really bad h/a).
On the way home, he finally couldn't take it anymore and pulled into an ER about 20 minutes from where he lives.
Within minutes they had done a CT and had him on a helicopter to Univ of Ala at B'Ham.
He had a brain tumor! Never would have thought it - wouldn't have ever even considered to think that. He was healthy as a horse.
So, please go to the ER. BTW he had surgery and he is doing really good. But he wouldn't have if he hadn't stopped and pulled into that ER that day.

I realize I have troubles now with this icky account, but for me to work with SC's, well, I might as well jump from the fry pan straight into the fire - been there and done that and no more. I've had it up to here with subcontractors, hearing all their excuses as to why they can't work (my kid's got the sniffles - I started my period - I have a headache - My third cousin in Omaha is sick, and I have to call her, yada, yada, yada) and I've had it up to here with looking at their sloppy work. I was just offered a position with one of the major nationals. I have 12 years of experience in multiple specialties in clinic work with many ESL dictators and some experience in acute care and ER but remote. I have been working as an IC at 8 cpl for the longest time, which is okay but no benefits. They had an incentitive program but come on. Is this really the going rate?

I am paid production . . . period. I work as fast as I can and do as well as I can. I do not slow myself down to go back and re-read something I just transcribed. Sure I make mistakes now and then, but not often enough to slow myself down by rereading everything. That is insane. I am realistic. I am not a saint. I do not hold myself out as a representative of this bright shining idea of perfect Transcriptionist working loyally for less and less money and fewer and fewer benefits as the years go by.

Off shore MT get patient lists with SS# addresses, which can also be dictated and personal and social history - many also handle the billing for the clients as well - which includes even more information. - okay so maybe not the MT themselves in every instance - but the companies they work for - are you telling me that you have never received a patient list with personal information other than names? even on VPN systems, this information can be dictated and is available with a search. I agree we all need to get involved not as MTs, but as Americans - every individual no matter what work they do needs to know and demand their personal information be kept within the USA

The ctl+ctl fails to open for me sometimes also! The only connection I've made is that it sometimes happens after I close the alt+S screen. The only way I knew to get the function of ctl+ctl back is to shut down and start all over. Can you remember what you did to reactive the ctl+ctl feature? I don't know if I could replicate your twitch. LOL.
By the way, does anyone else have problems (sometimes) looking up doc names with ctl+A? Meaning, if you type something like k? to do a search, you would only get the first doctor in the database (his/her name would be Ka---. This is driving me nuts.
I'm still pretty new with EXText, so I feel pretty inadequate sometimes.
