Glad to hear it's not just me!
Maybe we should start a support group for people like us :)
Glad to hear that it is not (SM)
a clot. As I was reading your post and "pedal edema," it made me think of how my right ankle hurts at night from all the pedal pushing during the day!! It is truly a case of pedal edema for us folks!!
Seriously though, I hope you get totally better.
So glad to hear you say that
I had answered a post because the poster said really hard to work from home and she did not know about, I guess, about taking things off on taxes such as part of the electricity, gas bills and I was just stating what I do and how I try to cut down on my bills so as to not overspend. I, like you, have never ever had anyone to think I have a bon-bon job at home. I think when you let people take advantage of you, they will. Expecting a phone call the other day that was important, caught it only to have a sales pitch. I told the person working, sorry and he said well I will only take a few minutes of your time. Then I said, no you won't- told you I was working and hung up. It sure is simple for me.
Glad to hear
I have a nurse practitioner friend who goes crazy with the transcription...account MUST be verbatim. She was telling me that the MT will type
"and please send a copy to -------" instead of doing a cc:
Personally I think it's crazy. For me, I'd like to use my brain when I'm transcribing. Of course that is MHO.
Glad to hear
I'm not alone. Do any of you ever just trust that it must have been said and not re-listen?
Also because physicians often use abnormal sentences (leaving out little words, etc.), it makes it hard to know when proofing if I missed a word or if it was dictated that way. I like double check though, because sometimes I did leave a word out.
Glad (or sad) to hear that I am not the only one.
Maybe time to look for a place that does not use Escription.
Glad to hear it!
Back around the dawn of time when I started transcribing, it was DISC. Always, always, always. Then disk started coming into style, though it set my teeth on edge, especially the glaring "diskectomy" which I thought everyone KNEW was wrong.
So glad to hear disc is making a comeback!
I am glad to hear that...
Over the years as we have been warned about our jobs ending because of VR, I didn't lose any sleep over it. I think VR is a good thing when it works - and it obviously must work in your case - my experience with it was not so good. VR, to me, is an entirely different ballgame than being the second or third in line to edit reports that could as well be typed once by a skilled Transcriptionist in the US.
Glad to hear about your home...
Our thoughts and prayers are with you all
I'm glad to hear she is enjoying
her life!
glad to hear you made it through
Some of us who work for that ___ company might be experiencing some stress and some of the same symptoms in the near future. Its so important to keep yourself healthy with "yunguns" you're responsible for.. God bless you
Hey Jodie, glad to hear all is well.
You're still in my thoughts and prayers. Keep strong and don't let the trolls get to you. There are still those of us here who care about your situation even though we don't really know you.
Glad to hear you testify!!!
Now if we could only do something about it...........
Glad to hear you are leaving MQ
Honestly, I don't know how you put up with that for 10 years.
I was hired there 5 years ago at 8 cents/line and that was fresh out of school. They even bumped me up to 8.5 shortly before I ended up quitting. They have been screwing you over bad.
Glad to hear you all had a good time. :)

Thanks for the updates, glad to hear things
are going well for you. Go to church together, even if you split. Life can get better. God bless!
Glad to hear you have found your "nitch", and
It is so nice to have a place to go where there are others who can understand where you are coming from. Good luck on your new job!
Along these lines, I have another experience you will all be glad to hear...sm
I personally know of a large company that had always maintained they would not outsource but then felt forced to give it a try. It lasted one month, and they quit doing it because of the extremely poor quality of work being returned to them. You must understand that this is a company that is really needing people, as most of the larger ones are, and even in their highly motivated frame of mind to do something to fill their need for help they made the decision in one month that outsourching was not going to work. This should serve as a good reminder to all of us of the importance of exerting ourselves in terms of achieving and maintaining high accuracy. Being thoroughly familiar with the rules regarding grammar and punctuation in addition to the medical content we need to be familiar with may be a "gag-me" experience for some, but it's important that we stay on top of it. It's what separates those who do this work from those who wish they could.
I am glad I waited to hear results on this before buying. sm
I need something that gives truly better syllable discrimination, and most head phones are geared for listening to music, not voice. I still have not found anything better than stethoscope earphones for that purpose.
I am so glad to hear you talk about VR in a good light
I have a jewel of a platform and you can make a decent salary. It is not garbage and like you said, the people here complaining are ones who do not have a good system. You have to be fast in scanning and hearing. If you are a slow typist to begin with, I have no idea how this would play into a person who does really good with VR. I do not fit that category and the people I have know that did VR did not either.
Glad to hear that my adult knitting friends and I are "trashy."

Good to hear an update. See message about "the projects" :)
I got the same deal with my ex. He wouldn't leave me alone because he wanted his beloved 3 bedroom ranch house.
I gave him the house (with my teeny share of equity) and moved into a teeny apartment with my 2 kids. HUGE bedroom bathroom and living room, teeny kitchen, great neighborhood. We all bunked in the same bedroom as there was room for a double bed, single bed and a crib with enough room left over to dance and play with toys. My kids were 5 and 2. We loved that place and it's probably because we finally had some peace and some fun.
My ex did the same thing. He accused me of moving my kids to the "projects" because I wasn't good enough to give them a nice home like the one he had. He still has that house and he lives in it alone and has for nearly 20 years. The last girflriend lasted 6 years and finally gave up on him.
He gave up on his kids almost 10 years ago and they gave up on him the day we moved into the "projects."
Best move I ever made. Happily married now for 13 years with 2 more kids that are considered my older kids' brother and sister, though their donor dad always insisted on calling them "half". "He's not your brother, he's your half-brother."
Idiot
Be strong, hang in there and don't give in.
P.S. I wasn't looking for another man, I just got lucky I guess. He does forget to take the trash out sometimes though.
I spoil mine
I pick up and delivery, have even rushed jobs to the OR in time for surgery (did get paid extra for that). I do rush H&P/consults though and do not charge extra. I do provide envelopes for all cc's, I cut apart chart notes on the sticky paper, I put the chart note with the appropriate note/letter/consult. Most of this is included in my price but I do charge per gross line. On the cc I do copy over the doctor's name and address so that is 2 extra lines of charge. But my accounts stay with me through thick and thin, pay ON TIME (48 hours of invoicing), give me bonuses at Christmas, take me to lunch with office staff at birthdays, etc. Have stuck with me through a yucky divorce where I was down a bit, family health problems. So it is a two way street. But I charge them fairly so I can make a decent living but not drain them dry and they know it. I pass my abilty to save by working at home along to them and keep them at 11 to 12 cents per gross line depending on volume. They have NEVER questioned one invoice or line count in 4 to 15 years. So I do all of this with a smile. Patti
spare the rod and spoil the child.
Its not the school's place in my opinion, but i do believe in discipline, done in love. Our creator thought it worthy of mention, so it must not be too wrong.
I can't stand it when parents spoil their kids with brand new cars....sm
especially since a lot of times the teenager ends up wrecking it because they don't care. Those I've seen that have taken better care of their vehicles and drove them properly were those that had some investment in a good used vehicle. They had to work to pay for the gas and insurance at minimum. That's what I did when I was a teenager and the only reason I got a car then was because I had an after school job and it was easier for my parents to help me get a vehicle than drive me back and forth.
WHEW!!!
NM
Whew. Thanks! nm
nm
WHEW!
lol!
Whew!!
I always itemize because have loads of things to itemize, loads. Have not taken just standard in years so understand now. Thanks
Whew!!! Good for you.
See, you can do it
Whew! You had me worried there
whew - I think you've been
listening too long to that one! LOL! I think I must be on the same account. I'm at MQ, too, and I have a psych doc like that. I also have a GI doctor that is exactly the same. I used to cry when I got him. I finally requested samples, and they didn't look any better than mine, so I didn't feel so bad. Now when I see him, I just let my fingers doing the walking. If he doesn't make sense, I can't help him.
Whew, I feel better!
I just unloaded on AHDI in a brief e-mail and gave them a piece of my mind. I was polite, but in no uncertain terms blasted them a new one. Whew!
MT30+ and Whew!
I think I may know why Confused is confused. I think that the first post in this thread by "Whew!" was made by one person and and the later posts by MT30+ were made by another person, and I think Confused has confused the two. Or perhaps I am confused. Or perhaps Whew! and MT30+ are confused. At any rate, I am confused about why Confused is so angry. And again, best of luck to Whew! and/or MT30+. Whateverrrrr......
Whew!!! Got the check today.
Thanks for all the encouragement and suggestions.
You have my sympathy. I was afraid of that too, but fortunately there is plenty ... whew! sm
I hope maybe work has picked up for you later today.
My wish is that next year be better for all of us. Happy New Year!
Whew! I just left clinic notes after 4 years..sm.
and got back into acute care. My momentum is back and I feel like I'm part of the medical process again. I guess I just like acute care better. I can never go back to clinic notes. I can't deal with those 20-second charts. Took me longer to get in the chart than to type it. The company I WAS with had such a screwed up demo screen if you made 1 mistake you got put on probation. Just toooooo much for me.
IMO, that is.
Finally steady money. whew. Applied and got job at Dept of Law Enforcement entering
They started me way above minimum because of my experience. I was shocked and happy all at the same time.
And of course I'm esctatic to not be wondering how much money I would be getting each pay check. Working on production in transcription now is like playing Russian Roulette.
There's good benes where I going, retirement, sick days, no games with my health insurance. I should have done this long ago.
Brain dead today - or is it hear hear? I'm going to bed.

Marry me?! :) Seriously...hear, hear. Good post. - nm

Venting-why do people keep putting nm and THEN writing a message?? nm means no message - sm
Please put sm if you have a message and NM if there is no message other than your subject line. It makes it easier when reading these messages. thanks so much and have a nice day everyone.
Hear, hear! I agree with Dakota - sm
The MTSO should be giving feedback to the hospital/doctors who slur, speak too rapidly, etc. They need to pull up their socks! And there's no reason why these doctors shouldn't be given an outline of what is expected from them when they dictate, such as cell phones, chewing food, candy, gum, etc.
Glad I could help and glad you got your setup going. nm

glad to help, glad it worked!

No, just trying it tonight. sm
Hope it goes okay, I have never tried it. It was on a special about Elvis' favorite foods. I read the reviews and they said the cake was very rich.
I think Ace is gone tonight
Taylor was WONDERFUL last night! I really enjoyed his performance. I was not thrilled with Katherine or Paris. I thought Bucky, Kelly, and Elliot did really well. I did not like Chris' song last night, but not sure if it was just the song I didn't like or the way he did it. So, all in all I would have to say that the bottom three will be Ace, Paris, and Katherine. Ace will be the one leaving in my opinion.
What's for supper tonight? nm
