Just makes my point on why the MTs on here cannot do VR. Just not up to par. Thanks for that. I do both types of transcribing. You should try using the entire brain, not just 1 part.

Ediscript V8 upgrade and word 2007
I need to upgrade and am hearing conflicting issues. Has anybody used the V8 of Editscript with the Home and Student edition office 2007? Two people from Microsoft themselves told me different answers, yes and no. One told me that word 2007 is word 2007 no matter what bundle it comes in and the other told me that I can't run 3rd party software on the home and student edition. Anybody have this answer?
Ediscript issue- text body too small. How to fix?
I have the new version 8 just installed and the top part is enormous. I used to be able to go in and up the speed and then cancel out of that, the cancel bar is no longer showing. Also I cannot adjust the volume because it is completely off the page. There is just too much at the top and barely any at the bottom. Another person said I could scrunch but still does not allow me to see and use the audio and volume. TIA

Go under Tools, then down to Pop-up Blocker, and then over to Disable Pop-up Blocker

Am I the only one that got nailed with a mosquito-buzzing popup ad when clicking a link to read a message today? As a transcriptionist, my headset is almost always on and normally at full-blast as well. I understand MTStars need for advertising support, but is there a way to limit it to silent adverts only? That nearly blew my eardrums!

extext does not have popup window to show shortcut

ShortHand is quick and easy. You can turn off the popup window,
but it is small and barely shows. It just reminds you what is about to play out, which can be helpful for me. Say I wanted to have copd change to COPD, so I have it in there that way. But then I add it as copdj to have it play out in full. If I can't remember if I did it that way, I can look down at the box before I hit space or punctuation and see which way is going to play out.
Right mouse click and select Unzip from popup menu.
Program may ask where you want to unzip the file; choose or create a folder in an easy-to-find location (desktop).

Know what is worse? These are not isolated incidents. It is everywhere. I was talking to my friend who is a nurse. She just started back at this place she used to work at about 6 years ago. It goes down the ladder with this stuff. She said she came across a nurse the other day who does not know what the difference is between a gluteal cleft and a gluteal fold. She wanted to know how people pass state board exams much less take care of people.

I think we should form a group alright, but no support group!!
How about a group of MTs forming their own transcription company?! We don't need some yahoo with an MBA who only cares about the bottom line and doesn't realize there would be NO bottom line if not for the MTs. We do this work on a daily basis, we know what to do and how to do it and most of us have dealt with doctors one on one. I am so disgusted with these companies and from reading this board, so are alot of others.
