Can you use the same eScription software
to type for 2 different IC accounts? Can I use the same EditScript to do both jobs with separate facility names?
escription expander?
I am considering taking a job where escription is the platform but forgot what the Expander is like. Can I transfer my InstantText or autocorrect file into it?
Thanks!
eScription expander
I use autocorrect with eScription. You will really like working with eScription. It's terrific. Be sure to take the time to learn the short cut keys, particularly Alt-K.
Would someone please explain the eScription software?
Is it voice recognition software or transcription software. Is it productive. Is it editing dictation that has already been transcribed?
expander software
Has any body read Saving Ke=strokes from Stedmans and what did you think?
Getting an Expander software
There are several choices.
Make sure you select one that can convert your AutoCorrect and AutoText files easily so you can use your short forms right away.
One of those is Instant Text. See link below.
Could you type in Escription
and did using Smartype with Escription help with getting great line counts? Did Smartype work with the VR editing also?
Thanks
Stedman's also has an expander software.
It is Stedman's Smartype.
word expander software
Anyone know of any good ones.
Thanks for your tips. I use ESP expander that is part of the Dictaphone software.
I will definitely see how goes without doing a read through first. I just feel so slow right now. I'm used to typing upwards of 2000 lines in a day and with VR (I just started VR a couple of weeks ago) I fell to 1200 to 1500 and it is just frustrating me! I feel like I'm constantly starting and stopping the dictation, more so than when I'm transcribing, because there are so many corrections that need to be made.
Thanks again!
What type of FTP software do you have?
I can help.
I-type/expander
If you give up on trying to get Instant Text to work with the I-type, PC ShortHand works great with the I-type system.
There is no way I could type as fast without an expander.
My Expander does about 60% of my keystrokes. I can transcribe a whole sentence or even paragraphs for some of my docs with only a few short keystrokes. There is no way for me to type that fast. I could see if you had a hard time remembering your shortcuts then an expander might slow you down, but my shortcuts are second nature now and I don't even have to think about them. In fact, when I don't use an expander, I still often will type a shortcut and then will have to go back to expand the word when I realize my expander isn't open.
Thanks all. I have to type diagnoses in all caps and the software does not allow me...sm
to block and capitalize so I have been looking for a way I can use my ShortHand abbreviations in all caps but from what I am understanding there probably is not a good way to do this other than holding down the Shift key while I transcribe which is what I have been doing or making separate entries as caps which is most likely too time consuming as I have thousands. Thanks for your input.
What type of file does your software play?
Maybe you can try a CD (mp3) format or rip a CD into a format that your software does play.
Try this link for a sample voice file or Google the phrase sample voice file

Poll: Is your abbrev expander (any type) mainly (sm)
single words, terms/phrases, or part/full reports? Mine is a little of all, but mainly just single words and terms/phrases.
How many WPM do you type with auto corrects/word expander?
I have never tested my speed using my Expander and have no idea how many WPM I type. I became a certified master typist last year at over 100 WPM without my expander. I've been doing this for six years.
I'm really curious what the average is with an expander. TIA.
I'm going to type an acct at home for local group. What is a good word expander for
things to know on doing tapes from an office? Is it best just to give them a disk and let them print it out at the office like they want to?
Anybody doing an acct like this? Thanks.
Yeah, you're right. Who cares who licenses your software? Heck, I use all pirated software anyw
why pay for anything, right?
Except that is AGAINST THE LAW!!!
A friend of mine got one and she is finding that some of her software, specifically her ISP software

If u need server software, try guild ftp. If just user software
then try cuteftp, coffeecupftp, or wsftp. They don't charge a line rate and I believe guildftp server software is still free.
POLL: Productivity gain using your expander and what expander you use.
Guess I need to make it work harder.
The shortcuts expander works with the Bayscribe expander as well.
All at the same time.
don't type double spaces. Type single. Then no one will be cheated.

Word Expander Programs - Are there any expander programs that are easy to use and learn
that are similar to the MS Word expander? I prefer something very simple. I like MS Word expander; however I have gone over my limits and cannot add any more shortcuts so I need a program that will hold a larger amount of shortcuts. Many thanks.
I can type with wine, can't type with coffee, though...too jittery.

That is, type the code above before and after what you want bolded in the text-to-type box. nm

Another big factor is software. If the software isn't
transcription friendly, it can really hurt your bottom line.
Otherwise, $1.20 per report is a pretty decent rate for radiology.
Good luck - hope it works out for you.
For me it isn't an account type but a dictator type ...
and that would be oriental. An oriental dictator (hahaha, that kind of sounds funny...hahaha) is the most challenging for me.
No, you don't type directly into ES. You type in Word -
or whatever their platform is, just like you did with your tapes.
Then you do your line count in Word or the platform.
You should type them. I usually type them in parentheses following the diagnosis.

remind me, type what they say, type what they say, type....
"He indicated that at the beginning of the year he complained of health problems recently but has gotten better." C'mon doc, which one is it?????
Shorthand users: Is there a way to type a word, use a slash and then type another word..sm
immediately following the slash and have it expand. For example if I needed to transcribe mass/sebaceous cyst, is there a way to use my expanded sebaceous cyst without having to back space after I type the slash mark? TIA
eScription
Just wondering if eScription has a word Expander built in or if you have to form your own? Never worked with it before. Thanks!
Escription?
Does anyone know of any companies that use Escription, OTHER than Transcend and MDI-FL? Thanks in advance.
Escription
Has anyone heard of Escription? Are they good to work for. I have applied and I am waiting for a response. Thanks, Nancy
Escription
They use transcriptionists from India. Local hospital used them, quality of their work was so poor, they got rid of them fast.
QA using eScription
From my use of EditScript and eMon, there is no way to track lines and reports that you have QA'd. However, I do know that eScription can write special programs. Have your employer contact the company and ask them if they can write a program to calculate the QA work that you do.
eScription
I worked for them for about two months and had to work a ton to get paid $100.00. If I remember right 5000 lines only paid editors $100.00 on voice recognition. I had to correct sooooo many mistakes that VR had made that it was just not worth it. I think you would be better off finding another company to work for. This company is slow to edit/transcribe for and QA is so picky.
Escription in MA
Is that company that you work for on MA that uses Escription in Woburn by any chance? Just wondering.
Who uses ESCRIPTION?
Please let me know. Thanks
The only Escription I know of is VR!

Escription
Anyone out there familiar with the Escription software? Is this only voice recognition and no regular "old-fashioned" type transcription involved? Thanks for your help.
eScription
You have certainly peaked my interest with the comment of a great rate per line for editing with the eScription platform. May I inquire as to how much? More than 0.0491 per recognized line? And what is your average line count per day? All work types, or specific? I appreciate any specifics you care to give!
Escription VR
When you get the VR, it will already be typed, just needs editing. Unless it is very new to VR, then it needs a certain amount to be typed by the Transcriptionist before it is recognized. The corrections you make will train the software on the correct words. You can do a lot more than 160-200 with VR

I am in awe that you edit so many lines an hour! You have my admiration! What worktypes are you editing the most? Do you have to go into other applications to fill in header info, CC recipients, lab data? Maybe my employer is expecting too clerical duties in a report rather than just editing! I'm just trying to understand why my production is so low! Any tips from high producers will be appreciated!
eScription
Love the software and don't ever want to use anything else. I'd be happy to answer any questions about it. :-)
ESCRIPTION
I really wish I could help you-- because I really wish someone could help me with this platform - it's bad working in the evening and not having someone to help out when things are new.

I work using this program with a footpedal without an adaptor - I had to buy another footpedal when I started on this program - it seems that each program has its own footpedal that it works with - wish they would come up with a footpedal that was adaptable to all transcription programs.
eScription
I am trying to find out which companies use eScription platform. I have worked on this plarform for a while, but the company I am with is just not what I though it would be. Any info available out there would be appreciated very much.

I went to the web site (escription.com), but couldn't find a list. Is this the correct web site?
