I work about 8 or 9 hours a day, actual typing time. I take plenty of breaks. I work on an account that is 85% ESLs, but not a problem for me as I have a knack for them. I use an expander, I have MT training and have had a knack for all facets of this business.
I don't have my own accounts, but I have. I do better working for a national, which is what I do. I transcribe primarily OPs and cardio, TONS of cardiology these days. I don't have a great many normals either.
The $40K is pretty easy to do. Yesterday, I had 265 lines in about 35-40 minutes, which was a good clip even for me. That is only $35 an hour at my 10 cpl rate. Only...
This business is what you make of it. The place I work they consider me "top MT" because of my speed and accuracy, which is 99.8% last audit...but also because of my "winning attitude" and "team spirit." They allow me to have many accounts so I never run out of work, and I love having the variety.
Yes, it is what you make of it and I make plenty of it, and from it!
