Well, she obviously could have

been a little less rude about it, but I've been on the flip side of that coin. I just had a recruiter call me Friday about an application I completed. She wanted to know what schedule I could work, when I would be available to start and the equipment I had. She then proceeded to tell me I would need a piece of equipment that I didn't have and that she could order it for me at $$$. I mean I hadn't even accepted a position yet. Don't you think she should be more interested in my quality than my schedule?
She immediately sent me the written part of the test, which had a 24-hour TAT, without asking me first I would have time to complete it that evening. I was scheduled to work but finished the written part of the test and sent it back. She then forwarded me the dictation part of the test with a TAT of 24 hours at 8 o'clock Friday night. I had to work that night as it was and had a wrestling match scheduled Saturday all day for my 2 boys. I knew I wouldn't be home in time to do the test, so I ended up staying up until 2 a.m. to get the test done after my shift on Friday night.
It would have been nice if she had said to me is it okay if I send you the test tonight? It needs to be returned within in 24 hours along with the dictation test that follows it. I have a life, too, and just because I apply for a position doesn't mean I'm ready to sidebench everything else. A little common courtesy goes a long way for both sides.
