No offense, but this made me laugh.....

Where do you live that you get polite customer service from McDonald's?  lol.  I'm lucky if they acknowledge me when they stick their hand out the window for my money.

Your post made me laugh even more than the original! NM

Why would you take offense? It is the real world and it exists.

It is not meant to be offending to anyone, just an honest statement made by someone.  Everyone grew up differently with different values and "prejudices" handed down to them, or "on them", and we as adults see that and try to correct it.   Prejudice is learned, and I for one am learning how not to be prejudice!

It's pretty much world wide that if you have no body you have no crime. Scott Peterson was arrested
Laci's body was found, NOT BEFORE. Not rocket science here. How to you prosecute someone w/o a dead body?
don't laugh: it WILL be called that eventually s/m
and if not, it's not like everyone wouldn't know the difference.  Scary!
HA. That made me laugh and cry.

I'm German so I guess I am at the bottom of the hiring list.

ROFL that made me laugh!! nm

I had one that actually made me laugh outloud. sm

This woman doctor is dictating away and then all of a sudden she's on the cell phone.  Apparently they had just handed down the Enron verdict at the time and her husband had called to tell her about it.  So she's blabbing away, "They're GUILTY!  Oh my gawd.  No I ddn't see it.  What channel are they showing it on?"

So she goes on for a few minutes and another woman in the office just started laughing hysterically.  The woman who was laughing must have been giving the doctor hand signals because the doctor says, "Oh my gawd, I gotta go.  I forgot I was dictating."

The doctor got back on line (with me) and she was trying to apologize, but couldn't stop laughing and the woman in the background was losing it, she was laughing so hard.  The doctor finally composed herself with a few giggles in between and finished the note, but before she hung up she apologized about 5 more times, trying not to laugh, and then you heard both of them just losing it with laughter before she hung up.

In this case, it really made my day because laughter is infectious, and apologies are worth their weight in gold in this business. But I know what you mean about the ones who really don't care.  It's happened to me too and there isn't a darn thing funny about it.

That made me laugh out loud
15 blanks! I laughed out loud. Because, I had one which I think was 20 LOL. Well, it was worthwhile...I typed a lot of discharges for people who wanted to go home to their family and hopefully those stats got out in time. There ended up really being only 1 ESL that was horrible. When I got back on later in the day, it was not so bad. Maybe the turkey brain food helped my hearing. :)
Your story made me laugh ...
... three times throughout the course of the last two hours. Thanks. Kinda broke up my teeth-grinding sessions listening to this woman.

You rule.
you made another punchy one laugh!!!

Unbelievable! The pedagogy part made me laugh out loud.

Been there. That's why I work at home. Thanks for sharing.

You are hysterical Purple!! Made me laugh at this late hour!
Thanks, chick!
I took offense at that too, but I chose to ignore it in favor of the issue of the post.
I figured if we made a big deal of that one word the focus would be taken off the real issue.
No offense, but your post didn't make any sense whatsoever.
Maybe you didn't explain it right, but I read and re-read and don't understand a thing you just said.
Hahaha this post makes me laugh-$9.69 in NC
No, seriously, I was making $9.69 in Rad at a rural hospital in NC when I came home to work.
Then why in the world post here?

Well, I guess your post you made
way down towards the bottom of this page was not quite true, under the "straw that broke the camel's back".....thought you were doing really well with your MT work and your big bonuses?  At any rate, I do hope you find something that makes you happy; burnout absolutely does happen; been there done that too!!
Yeah, that post made me
laugh too, but for other reasons.  Actually, I have the sweetest, nicest lady who works morning at McDonald's.  Always so cheerful & quick.  The afternoon shift is a bit surlier though - lol
oops, I made an error in above post
I wanted to say the "SO-CALLED MANAGER," who does NOT give a rats _________ if you get your quota, or NOT!!
I made a sticky post at the top of the forum. I am not going
to get into specific debate over various belief systems and people's rights.  If you haven't read the sticky post, please do so.
She just said she would post pix and made it sound so attractive.

She made a weird comment to the post
of a paranoid poster = 'curious'.

Read the whole thread if you want to understand.

The so-called "reality show" is the lowest form of so-called entertainment in recent years
I hate them. They've ruined TV.
It is MQ-wide for DQS users?
Well, I sure would hope it would be for SE's too, as some of us also use DQS.  I havent heard anything, nor gotten a letter or check..Im wondering is it MQ-wide?  All of MQ that uses DQS?  Or could it be just certain regional offices did not have the count of lines set up right?
What letter? And is it company wide

or just in a certain office?

I don't live in a double wide
Oh honey, you got it all wrong. I have the TRIPLE WIDE right next to YOUR DOUBLE WIDE.

Don't be jealous and all because you don't got the triple wide!!!

Usually, it is a system-wide choice SM
that was made and the hospital (one that is part of a greater health care system) must go with the vendor chosen by the system.
21 wide screen and I love it!! (nm)
s
My eyes are wide open. Believe me, I know his
faults better than anyone. I can't keep religion of it, though, because it is a huge part of my life. It's not a crutch, it's simply a way of life. I, too, wish you the best. I know we all have our opinions and may not always agree, but that's okay, too. I hope you have a happy 4th, too!

AsUtype ~ system wide expander

I LOVE my wide screen. I will never go back. That being said....
I had to do some tweaking of the settings. I went to START, display, and then the setting tab (far right hand side). I have my screen resolution set on the 2nd notch from the word "less" on the left hand side. That is my home monitor.

For work, I have the same resolution setting and then, because we use Chartscript.NET, I can set my resolution different than the default and I set it at 105. That seems to work best for me.

I have also tried maximizing and minimizing the window sizes too. Sometimes it helps, sometimes it doesn't. I think you need to tweak your settings until you find the one that works best.
You could always try doing a system-wide search for a patient you know is on the file and maybe
nm
You undercut yourself, which drives prices down industry-wide. sm
For a hospital, NEVER go under $0.16 per line to start. Most will want to negotiate and the lowest should be 0.14 per line.
you can expect 12.00 - 15.00 hour average, pretty much nation wide.
d
yes, by the 2nd offense they ought to be
of society, either permanently out of this world or permanently behind bars.
Sorry, no offense to you.
x
No offense was taken. I'm just sorry that your

experience with those few you have met has not been good.

no offense
to the original poster, but tends to make you wonder why they send work to other countries.
no offense taken now that sm
I understand. I was not familiar until today that AHDI is the former AAMT. I have not read an AAMT publication in years. I don't particularly like their "core" values, politics etc. I was just doing the CMT thing for myself as well as other schooling/certifications. My way of coming back into the real world after a very devastating illness!

Don't worry about it really.

Take care
No offense but -
With all due respect, being able to stay home with one's children is NOT a perfect reason to become an MT. I believe there are certain personality characteristics, IMO, that one must have in order to be successful in this industry.

~First of all, in order to be a *successful* MT, one must have not only an excellent grasp of the English language, both written and spoken, but also an 'ear' for picking up and deciphering various other native tongues as well.

~On top of that, one must have above-average instincts and inherent skills for research, as this career requires not simply typing what you think you hear, but many times doing extensive investigation to make sure you are indeed hearing correctly.

~An excellent memory; the ability to recall the spelling of a medication or a syndrome or a genetic disorder without having to look it up each time it is encountered is invaluable in this field.

~Last but definitely not least, I feel in order to be successful in this field, one must have a keen interest in the medical field. These aren't simply words we're transcribing; they're legal medical documents. If one does not have a love of the medical field and an enjoyment of learning something new almost daily, this is NOT an appropriate career.

I'm sorry, but with all due respect, you choosing to enter a field simply to stay home with the kiddies is not enough. Without the necessary drive and willingness to learn, one is destined for failure. Unfortunately, it sounds as if perhaps you already have failed.

Please overlook any typos; I've been working 10 hours and my dinner is awaiting me :-)
