If you have been doing this that long already, I would just apply for an acute care job, not applying as anyone that needs to be trained. Because, quite frankly, the pay is low as sin for those of us doing this for over 20 years now. Actually, relatively speaking, it is lower than 20 years ago.

If you are going into this thinking you need to accept less pay, I wouldn't. I just think that is a bad start already, seeing you do have experience in MT. Since you have had A&P and medical terminology, perhaps try clinic work and go from there?

Acute care does not necessarily pay any more than clinic, it just depends on finding a company that may pay more regardless. I just don't think you should go into this expecting less pay or you will be disappointed all the way around.
