Wait, you want me to walk in a masochist's shoes or a liar's shoes and work 80 hours for what?
Kick off the freaking shoes. Why do you wear them 80 hours a week was the question.
How about you just walk in the shoes you hold with disdain, and you get changes made
x
shoes
When I worked at hospitals, in Medical Records, the minute I got in, the shoes came off. I would put on thick socks and slide around the rooms in my sock feet for my shift, even when helping doctors or other staff..Never got complaints, in fact a few times they would laugh..now working at home, I wear flip flops and take the right foot off when working..
put yourself in his shoes -
You need to know the history of NO to know exactly how those people feel about politicians.. There was a tradition of corruption for many, many years. This is not about you and what words you hate. This was a desperate situation. FEMA and Bush had failed.
Shoes
I work in a hospital and have seen nurses, etc. wearing these--at least it sounds like them. I haven't asked any of them what they are because I think they are so dang ugly. I figured they must be very, very comfortable.
I was in your shoes
and I would highly recommend training if you're going to look outside the specialties you know. Especially with the national transcription companies, you will likely have a lot of ESL docs, and that can be a complete nightmare if you aren't already experienced in the field dictated. If you were transcribing work that a urologist from Egypt dictated, you would have a frame of reference because you're well-familiar with the world of urology and you would be able to 'hear past' the accent. But if the Egyptian doc was a neurologist or a cardiologist, it would be very difficult to decipher what you're hearing, when your knowledge of those specialities is more limited. Also, with a national company, you won't have the luxury of learning the other specialties a little bit at a time. It would probably make more sense to spend the money on further education so that when you make the change to multiple specialties, you'll be able to meet your line quotas.
I have been in your shoes
Not that we are by any means doing well right now, my kids get reduced lunches at school, but in the past I have gone to the local town's food pantry and they had given us a box of donated food, it helped us get through some very tough times. Keep your head up things will get better and one day you will look back and shake your head. Peace.
I was in your shoes....
Back in August, I switched over to satellite and I love it!! I've had no problems with it going out, even during storms. Once or twice, during a really bad stormy day, it was slower than usual and I had to keep getting back into web sites but I was able to work fine! I have been pleased with satellite! Good luck!
and shoes too!!
;
I also have walked in your shoes..
Talk about discouraging.. I have had over 13 years of what my doctors called "making them sound good" to going to work for "nationals" that will slow strip away your confidence. I even worked for 4 years at a large medical center (received bonus and raises based on performance), yet I have had these QA people at "nationals" tell me I am doing this wrong or that wrong. I swear I proofread my reports to death, yet they always find something, even incorrect punctuation which is subjective to me. I have been working at home and now feel that I can do nothing right, not even put a comma where it "should" go. They will pick your work to pieces and I have just accepted a position with a large local hospital. Imagine that... I even passed a transcription test to get that job. So, I am outta here and I cannot wait.
Oh, I'm so shivering in my shoes! Big bad ole you.
I'd laugh but it's too pathetic to even bother.
Oh man, that just makes me want to go put some shoes on!

I have not walked in your shoes, but my SIL has. sm
After having a reversal done on a tubal (and paying an ungoshly amount for it - roughly 15K), nothing happened. She was put on fertility drugs and still nothing happened. However, as of today, she started her 6 month of pregnancy. I am going to have a nephew and I cannot wait!! I am so happy for my brother and equally as happy for my sister in law (who is really more like my sis). She had a rough time the past couple of years and I spent many nights listening to her cry and wishing there was a way I could fix it (of course knowing there wasn't). God definitely shined on them! :)
do you wear shoes when you work? sm
if so, what kind? If I wear sneakers, my feet get too hot and sweaty. If I wear slippers, I don't feel like I get enough support. Any suggestions?
I can't stand wearing shoes.
Sometimes I'll wear socks in the winter if my feet get cold.
re: Dancing Shoes and MQ Rocks
Yes there are MT's out there who only hae one account and never run out of work--none of these MT's work for the Amherst office, if they do, please feel free to prove me wrong. If there is an MT that works for the Amherst office and only has ONE account and they can make their lines and never run out of one--please let us know. Then we would know that their was hope for us. I agree with Dancing Shoes in the CA office, when our office closed 4 or 5 of our MT's were transferred to the CA MQ office, some went to the AZ MQ office, which has now closed, and those girls were transferred to the Dallas office, and some were transferred to the Ohio office, whcih according to one of the postings is being closed at the end of the year--all these MT's have plenty of work and only have one or two accounts and can make their production. My point is, if other offices can be run this way, why can't the Foxboro and Amherst offices be run the same way. Why do we need to be in 5 or 6 accounts, or as the MT that posted earlier today, she was in 8 accounts. Again, why can't all the offices be run the same. If there is not enough work to go around stop hiring more people--the accounts certainly can not be out of TAT when we are all out of work
actually i was in your shoes and I switched jobs. sm
I am a single mother and was not at all happy about where I was and no I didnt come on here and complain about it. Yes I did find another job, had to do without insurance for about a month, and glad I made the switch. I even accepted the job at the very same pay.
I think you are just scared to take that leap. i do have compassion, but when you arent happy about something, you should try to do something.
Whether it is to go to the proper channels with MQ and complain to them or find another job. It isnt doing anyone any good to come here. Nothing will change.
That is all I am saying.
It just gets everyone in an uproar and solves nothing.
You and only you have control over your life as I do mine.
To Dancin Shoes & Cathy
Good for both of you! Hey, I know exactly where you're coming from with the sore neck and shoulders - I had 2 cervical diskectomies with bone implants, screws and plate fixation in March. What I do is request a 12-hour window for work, then work 2 or 3 hours and break for 1 or 2, work another 2 or 3 and take that break, then do the last of my shift. It's incredible the difference it makes as opposed to sitting "frozen" all the way through!
Of course, there are days when I'm able to do more than 2 or 3 hours at a time, and I do them at will, but scheduling the 12-hour window really makes a difference.
If I were MT Queen for a Day, I would make that the #1 optional guideline for all MTs! We are, after all, the backbone of the medical profession!
OK, I'm off my soapbox now . . . :o)
put on your track shoes, baby! :)
I'll be officially divorced on September 10, 2006, and I can't wait! I was only married for a year and a half. I was absolutely at the end of my rope. I tried everything. Counselors, psychiatrists (for me), drugs, books, websites, EVERYTHING! I hated Fridays b/c it meant spending another two days with my husband. In my opinion, counseling is great, but it ONLY WORKS when the other party is ready to accept responsibility. And usually, sadly, they're just not.
As someone once said, "You don't need a reason to leave someone you can't stand!" I also really like this quote, "My worst day single is better than my best day married!"
Good luck, and remember, you DO deserve someone who treats you well.
PERIOD. ;)
Plastic shoes that come in many different colors, and several
different styles. Very popular with medical personnel who are on their feet all day. Google Crocs.
I agree - put your running shoes on
nm
Apply for a new job. If I was still at my original job, I'd be in your shoes. (NM)
dd
weren't these shoes originally called...sm
to me, crocs would be made out of crocodiles (I do live in Florida *LOL*).....what you all describe sounds like the *jellies* my daughter wore when she was 10 or 12.
I made a little foam heel rest so I can have my shoes off
otherwise, can't feel the peddle.
I love shoes, bras, and daily showers.
I must not be cut out to be an at-home MT!
;o}
I hate shoes to start with, but I can't feel the foot pedal
if I have on shoes. In the summer I'm usually barefoot, in the cooler months I have on socks.
No shoes, barefoot in summer, heating pad on low in front of foot pedal

I think they will all walk
Have been thinking they are probably guilty, but really, there is no proof. I agree 100% about the chaperones. You wait until you get to the airport and then discover everyone isn't there?? Sounds absurd to me. How come we haven't seen any of the chaperones on TV? Still feel for the parents, but I think they have done all they can. They certainly have kept it in the attention of the media.
I don't think they are trying to walk all over
anyone. I think it is out of frustration. Lots of changes have came about in a very short time. Some people are not good with change. They see this attitude as rubbing salt in the wounds. They are being jerked around and you are all happy and that makes no sense to them. There are people begging for work out there and then you get on saying you got 9 accounts. In their mind, they are thinking how is this fair and of course lashing out at MQ. You do tend to lash out at people who you think hurt you. I do not agree with everything that is going on with MQ, but I do work here and I am going to continue to work here. I have sympathy for the other MTs who are not so happy. I agree there are those who get on here to do nothing, but bash, but then again there are those just trying to understand what is going on and speaking out of frustration. I just think that people should not be attacked or whatever you want to call it just because they do not share your views. You must remember, we are all in totally different situations and most importantly - we are on the same team. Why not try to help them get happy and try to work out their problem, rather than bash along with them.
How many MTs and MEs would be willing to have a walk out
If nothing is done by Oct 1st with MQ
walk, walk, walk, walk, walk. :)
I do 3 miles a day at a good clip and I have lost 25 lbs. since I started doing MT at home a year ago. I'm back into a size 6 from a 14.
No bagels, donuts, cookies candy, etc., etc. in the breakroom like it was at the office.
Keep the crap out of your fridge and cupboards too.
Leftover Halloween candy put 5 lbs. on me in one week!
Yes, that should walk you through it
I am not real familiar with Melbourne IT, but when I Google searched, it came back with registering domain names, so yes, follow that through. The next time you post, if you need more help, click on the button to add an email reply and I will email you to see if I can help walk you through it
The Walk
Cesar emphasizes taking regular walks with your dog at your side, not in front of you. Maybe it would help to do this with your dog, establishing yourself as the leader, and then take two and eventually all three for a walk at the same time. He says this gets them used to being a pack, with you as the pack leader.
It's also a law here too and a law you can't walk dog without muzzle...

Hello...that should be take a walk, not "talk"
Something must be wrong with my fingers :)
RUN - don't walk to the nearest ER. sm
I am an MT/ EMT/ nursing student, who has also had bouts of depression in the past, never hurting self but thinking how to permanently. I am great now, but with my family history I know what to look out for. PLEASE - Go to the nearest ER and talk to a professional about this. You cannot work through this alone or online with anyone. They will not judge you or belittle you - they are there to help and your hurting yourself is a cry for help. You don't have to tell your family or friends a reason for going, just say you don't feel well and need to go to the doctor. Don't wait, go now!
Walk your own talk, then.
Why don't YOU take in all that trash if they're all just innocent victims of "the system". It's always someone else's fault, isn't it? You liberals never hold the parasites responsible for any of their own actions or any of the CHOICES they make. It's always the government's fault, or capitalism's fault, or the fault of people with money (you know, the ones who worked hard and EARNED their lifestyle). We're all supposed to keep paying through the nose so a bunch of parasites can breed generation after generation of parasites and no one is allowed to point out the truth. Fine. YOU let them all live with you.
Let's just get out of the car and walk inside.
x
I wouldn't let them walk all over me like that. It was not right.
Yep, took them out for walk today sm
and they are as good as gold today. They even got cauliflower (their fav) for their treats today.
Walk. Two miles a day should do it.
c
You have to get up and stretch, go for a walk
and take lots of breaks from just sitting, even if they are only 5 min. breaks. It helps both mentally and physically.
Is a 15-min walk possible in your area sm
at that time of night? That would get your blood moving!
Run, don't walk to METROSCRIPT
metroscript.com - best deal in town! We've used them for 5 years. Great service, easy dial in dictation or digital file upload. Cost is minimum $14.95 month. Phone cost is $0.15 minute, fee kicks in after your doctor racks up past the $14.95 flat fee. They are a terrific company and will help you get up and running. Best of luck.
when I was 12 I had my appendix out...I could not even walk...had a fever...
was vomiting bile. The most painful memory was the doctor trying to lay me down on the table, and everytime he would try to straighten my legs out, I would sit up, when he would lay be down, my legs would go back up (haha), but I mean it was so painful the only position I wanted was a fetal one!
If you have it, you would also have a fever, be vomiting bile. Have you tried talking to the doctor, I mean, he told you it is not appendicitis, did he tell you what he thinks it is? How 'bout going to an emergency care center (not an emergency room)?
Do you have a fever?? Gosh, hope you are going to be okay...
The grossest person to ever walk the
planet!!
I have a Golden Retriever that needs her walk every day, sometimes
twice a day. I walk 2 miles daily and go to the gym at least 3x a week. No big butt here, although I have noticed things shift as we get a little older. I am 39 and my boobs shift to my armpits (LOL) Any exercises for them?
I agree...30 minutes walk/jog/run every day
on the treadmill if the weather is inclement. If not, 30 minutes with the dogs outside. Provides me with MUCH more energy to start the day with and a much better outlook. If you have other health conditions, you might want to check with your MD first, but otherwise, give it a try, starting slowly at first. You'll be amazed at the difference in the way you feel.
No - you have to walk 3-4 times a week
to keep your back healthy if you are going to sit in a chair 40+ hours a week. I try not to let my weight get too high either, because that really stresses the spine.
Walking is the best for the back. Pilates/yoga and light weights for upper body also very protective.
You need to get up and walk around about every half hour.
I had this for a long, long time. It wouldn't hurt to see a vascular doc about this. The reason I say this is because I was 50 years old and saw MD about that. My calves would get so hard it sometimes felt like they were going to burst. I had problems with walking for only short distances with horrible pain going down my legs. I thought it was just deconditioning. They ran tests and found I had claudication. They did angioplasty on both inguinals, left took but the right failed instantly. The left leg angioplasty lasted for about six months and I had to have aortiobifem bypass for both legs. Don't mean to scare you but better safe than sorry.
There is one - Ron Paul - and he does walk his talk. nm
