from VA Beach. Jenny spent last Easter in hospital after her nephrectomy for Wilm's, so we thought it would be good to do something different this year. Seeing DH's parents the following weekend probably. She just got her Port-A-Cath out so its a celebration of sorts for us.

It is coming back
There are a bunch of shows that start later, "mid-season" and the only dates I can find are "early 2007", but I was wondering about Medium is how I found it. Medium will be back mid-season, along with Scrubs, According to Jim, Reba, George Lopez, King of Queens, Supernanny, The Sopranos American Idol, America's Got Talent, etc...... bunch of them!

I was just coming back to update...
I did not find one, however, my wonderful father-in-law who used to design computer components 20 years ago opened up the broken one and fixed it for me. It's still fragile, there's a broken screw housing thing that was somehow preventing the pedal from contacting the switch sufficiently, but if I treat it gingerly, it'll get me through until my employer sends me a new one. Whew!
LOL! I was just coming back to change that to 1024. Thanks!

I have been waiting since I first heard they were coming back last year...
and I'll probably fall asleep before the ending. Happens all the time.

I sincerely hope that you are correct in that we will jobs coming back to the states, but I won't
I realize that India is a third-world country and it is a small percentage of Indian workers who are benefiting from the offshoring of American MT jobs and it may be only a small percentage of jobs been offshored, but the impact of this small percentage to the entire industry of medical transcription is tremendous. It has lowered the standard wage for the American medical transcriptionist. How can an American MT compete with 3 or 4 cpl? By accepting only a little more per line than the Indians or by taking jobs editing the Indian MTs work for 3 or 4 cpl. Either way, we lose. We make less than we did 10 or 20 years ago and that's progress?!?!

I cannot believe that Tony Soprano (looks like he) got whacked!!! Looks like he's dead now.....I know they had to kill him off because it's their last season and a half, but so early into the season???? I will miss James Gandolfino greatly on this show, that is IF he is dead, but he looked really dead to me as he reached 911 and then couldn't speak to the 911 operator.

I would say Paulie is on his way to being whacked, along with Vito. Carmella is wise to both of them and we saw how Tony's BP and heart rate rose to stroke level when Paulie was in his hospital room talking to Tony while he was still in his coma. Apparently Aunt Dottie's deathbed confession pushed Paulie over the edge.
Don't you find it ironic that someone who has lied, cheated, stolen, crippled and killed other people for a living, was so outraged that these 2 sisters "deceived" him? You would think he would be grateful that they loved each other and him enough to give him a home and family.
I hope Tony doesn't go soft - because his "family" is falling apart - his business family that is. Even Bobby is doing his own business on the side - shooting the rapper who wanted publicity.

new Sopranos in March...new Deadwood soon, and new Carnivale soon and too bad they canceled SIX FEET UNDER but you can still catch the first 6 seasons in reruns.

That's the only reason I keep my HBO. Does anyone know when repeats of the entire Nip/Tuck will be on? I missed a season, I think, and my daughter has never watched it at all. With all my raving about what a good show it is, now she wants to see it.

After years of waiting to get called, I finally did. Made arrangements with my work, took the day off. The lawyers asked a lot of questions like: Do you have any acquaintances in law enforcement, have you ever had a run in with the police, do you think you could be fair and impartial, that kind of stuff. The case was for so-called excessive use of force by the police and the guy was one of our local druggies.
Long story short...I spent 6 hours downtown at the courthouse, they needed 13 jurors, I was #14. It was interesting though, to go through the process.

I am so excited to see this movie.
I never saw his other 2 movies, but I am so glad he is making this, and I hope everyone will watch it.
He mentioned on Oprah that health insurance companies are required by law to turn a profit (for the benefit of their stock holders), and in order to turn a big profit they feel they need to deny care to patients that need it. The laws obviously need to be changed, and healthcare needs to be a right, not an outrageously expensive privilege!

to get a 16-minute report, and then it ends up being 2 pages long? I was thinking, "all right! Lines!', and she spends so much time p-ing around, flipping through the chart, yawning, etc., I can practically type right along with her. Erg.....

$9.60 an hour filling out surveys when s/he could be working a real job and making at least twice that or more.
I got excited when I reached 2400 lines per day.....
and then my account decided to go overseas so now I jump around a LOT and can't get 1500 consistently, although I do TRY!

Before you get too excited, most hourly QA jobs have a line count quota too.
so if you had trouble getting quota as an MT, it could be that you might not make it as a QA either.

Okay? But I have to leave you now, sadly. Thousands of noble dictating doctors are anxiously awaiting my help with their "dictations"....They're all loading up on chips, drinking lots of soda so they can burp, and then have to go to the bathroom...You know the routine! Off I go to earn some pennies!! But, truly, I am thankful that I have a job!
PS.. It apparently worked..I heard back and already submitted the paperwork back.
I'm not sure how many people they are hiring but you shouldn't stress too hard over it. Do the best you can.

Do you actually think these people are all addicts? These are the common people who could not afford to get out, probably making a lot less an hour than you do. They had no vehicle, and they left their homes with all their possessions in their arms. These people are starving and dying on the streets. It could just as easily have been you or me, and they just want to survive! If it had been a foreign country, help would have been there lickity split.

I don't think I'd cash them either. They don't make sense from what I'm reading. Has anybody contacted the law firm handling the class action suit for the MTs to see what's up there and if these are connected?
