in all the dogs' food, and definitely give the little one a bath. You'll need to comb the fleas and their dander and eggs out wtih a flea comb. My dogs used to love this. During flea season, I'd get on the floor and comb them after dinner every night. Have a bowl of soapy water handy (with the flea soap if possible) and dip the comb in the bowl when you start and especially after you find the fleas (and ticks!) on the comb to drown them. Residual soap will help keep them off the pooch. Fleas congregate at the base of the tail and in the groin area. Get puppy used to combing and he/she will come to love it as part of normal grooming. An herbal flea collar might help, too. The other dogs will need to be watched for fleas, too. Good luck!

Brewer's yeast in tablet form, Purple can Raid that you can spray on dogs and bedding
I tend to find that fleas love pink-skinned kritters the best!!
They say yeast loses its effectiveness.
Here's an interesting science project a kid did proving that yeast loses its effectiveness. It's in Adobe Acrobat format.

You can use it anyway, but it will take longer to rise, and you might get flat dense pizza dough. BTW, thanks for the idea for dinner.
Question. Does Fleischmann's yeast ever expire? The reason....
I am dying over here for pizza. Have ALL the ingredients - cheese, sauce, toppings, but forgot the yeast for the dough. Called my 80 y.o. sweetheart of a neighbor to see if I could borrow a packet until I get to the grocers (quite a bit away).
She drives to my house and lovingly hands me the package. As I go to open it to place in my dough mixture the expiration date reads: Oct 25 1992
LOL!! Should I go for it or what, girls?
You can proof the yeast by putting it in some warm water...
with a teaspoon of sugar. If it starts to bubble within 10-15 minutes it's still alive. Otherwise, it has died and will not breathe it's bubbles into whatever you are making and you'll get no rising.
Next time you buy yeast, stick it in the freezer. That puts it to sleep, and it will last years.
For me, it's ham, mashed potatoes/gravy, yeast rolls and some nice dessert, pie or cake.

1 heaping *tablespoon* of baking powder?!

There is a powder you can get that will
deteriorate the stump. You need to cut it as close to the ground as possible, drill several holes in the stump and then put in the powder. Not sure how long it takes. You can burn a stump but it will take a very long time and you can't sustain the fire, will take multiple fires.
Powder...
Quick, inexpensive, and easy: Pour fine powder (baby powder, baking soda) at holes where the ants are entering. If they are progressing in a line across the floor, lay down a line of powder so they will not cross.
It seems that they get stuck in the powder and can't continue. You will find that literally just a few make it across the barrier, but nobody is coming behind them. There will be some laying dead in and around the powder
Otherwise, they seem to tell their sibling, friends, and distant cousins that it's a no-go, find another route--and that trail just dries up.
hey, do you take liquid or powder creamer in your coffee?
The letters will probably get more attention, if you put a little white powder in them...lol..nm

Vacuum
I have a Hoover Fusion and just love it. I have a long-hair cat and a 13-year-old and I cannot believe the sunction on this vacuum. It comes with many attachments. It is bagless and very easy to empty from the bottom. I believe they have it at Walmart for around $139.00. Highly recommend it.

I recently bought the Eureka Boss, cannister, for $75 at Big Lots - what a bargain and I love it.
Where can I get this vacuum system? NM

Baking without flour everywhere
I think the only way to be able to do it is to have plenty of time and clean up after every step for lack of anything better to do. Now the only problem is getting my big kid (DH) to keep his meat hooks out of the freezer! Discovered he had snuck all of my peanut butter blossoms out and ate them right up. Oh, well, I'll make some more. LOL I love to bake and love to eat the stuff too but unfortunately just recently was diagnosed with AODM so there goes the sugar for me.
Eeeewww - I have enough for my Christmas baking

Need help quick! I am in the middle of baking cupcakes for
tomorrow and i only have 2 eggs and recipe on box calls for 3. Does anyone know what will happen if I use the 2? I live in the country and the store is way too far to get eggs. No neighbors either! :)
What would you do? Go ahead and try it or ditch it altogether? I was in the middle of mixing when I saw I needed 3 eggs!!!! Thanks so much!
The Dyson...it's very expensive, but it's the best vacuum you'll ever own!

Let's see, just got through baking cheese straws, bran muffins,
fruit cake cookies and cheese/sausage balls and DH just came home with a big bag of almond M&Ms. Probably have a Pepsi to go with it. No veggies but I think we got all the other food groups - LOL.
Baking Soda-make a paste with a little water. That's all I use. (nm)

Need some good advice on a GREAT vacuum cleaner...sm
We vacuum at least twice daily because we bought carpet that tracks like you would not believe. We bought a Eureka bagless vacuum cleaner about 4 months ago and it is the pits! Does not pick up, you have to REALLY clean it every time...who knows what the real problem is...I would not mind paying good money for a GOOD vacuum cleaner that does not lose suction...Any ideas?
Any suggestions on a good Vacuum at a reasonable price?
I would love to have a Dyson but they are a little over my budget. Thanks!
Vacuum it out or blow it out. I also would pick mine up and drop it from about
4 feet. My boss at the time said she did the same thing.
Can anywone recommend a good vacuum cleaner? My old one broke and has to be replaced. Thanks. NM

If it isn't a real high traffic area, sprinkle baking soda on it, leave it overnight,
and vacuum it in the morning. Good luck!
20 garlic chicken. sm
At the risk of sounding dumb - are you supposed to use two whole actual things of garlic. Garlic has always confused me. The recipe sounds wonderful but two whole garlic or two segments of one garlic thingy?
I only used 2 segments of one garlic.
