Am manger for voice rec for a national.  In my experience, if you are a relatively slow typist (less than 150 lph), very detail oriented and conscientious about blanks you will do better editing than typing.  If you can speed read you do best.  It basically requires that you read ahead and search for obvious mistakes and then when  the voice file catches up to that point, you quickly correct the error and repeat the process to the end of the document. If you cannot continue a fluid forward motion you will not do well from a monetary standpoint.  Most people who learn to do this improve their line rate by 30 percent.
