VBC only okay if pay increases

I also quit Chronicle due to the low line count, VBC, etc. I was told that they justified it by using a 55 black character line, but it really did not help at all. I read the report of that meeting, and it does not appear that they discussed an increase in pay. No, there is no surprise here.

DQS pay increases/decreases
Well, I have worked for MQ for nine years, got a raise in 1998, then asked for one two years ago and got a quarter of a cent. When I went on DQS in the beginning of the year, I got a call from the regional manager that anyone who goes on DQS gets cut in pay cause you can make so much more on DQS. I said okay, as Im not one to rock the boat. However, I make about the same but work many more hours on DQS.

For me, being an IC for 20+ years has meant that I have had to be conservatively competitive with my rates so that I've been less likely to be outsourced. When I've asked my clients for per line rate increases, it's due to an increased expense to operate a quality service, i.e., additional security software, increased internet service cost, data backup, transfer/FTP service cost, etc.
knowledge increases productivity
My productivity is up and down. I have found that with doctors and report-types that I am use to typing my productivity is higher, with new docs and new/rarely typed report a lot lower. I think only knowledge can increase your productivity, when you can anticipate what the doc will say next because you have a true knowledge of what you are typing. (please excuse typos.. I am on a quick break)
