I saw that one too, in Chicago
except at that one Clay went first and Kelly went second, and the place erupted when Clay came out, people standing for his entire part of the show, screaming, etc., and then it was so quiet and subdued for the Kelly part of the show, I felt kind of sorry for her. It wasn't until Clay came back out at the end that the place went crazy again. Of course, she's more popular now than she was a couple of years ago.

I currently live in Illinois and seems like here they are bound and determined to take every last dime they can from you. I have never in my life seen a state with such taxes! Our phone bill was 60. but by the time they added on the taxes, it was 105! I see a tax on my electric bill for the privilege of the city letting them run lines through the town! In the process of getting the heck out!
Illinois IC tax question
I will be taking my taxes to a professional this year but am getting conflicting info as to IC status. I work full time in house as an MT and have started working as IC for company in Florida. Another MT told me her tax person said she does not have to claim IC work if she made under a certain $$ amount. (I also file jointly with my husband). What is required for my ic acct? Would like to know what other Illinois MTs do.

Hi, I am an IC working in Illinois. I have someone do my taxes, since I think it is pretty complicated. The last I heard was that if you make under $600 in a year you would not have to pay taxes. But I think that is only if that is your only income and as an IC you have to pay quarterly taxes. Your tax person should be able to tell you what that is. Hope this helps.

Illinois company and it appears
when I checked they still have the account and the account is up to date. Since direct deposit is an option, I figure there are some who do not realize they didn't get paid yet, since I was told everyone on that account did not get paid. Why would they keep the account if they did not get paid by the client? Tried calling the labor board and left a message for a call back. I will have to see what I can do. Thanks for your response.

I did some checking several years ago and I found from my research that University of Phoenix was the one with the most prestige as far as on-line degrees. You have to be careful, because some of the places offering these are not worth the paper they are printed on, to an employer. But, I found that UOP actually is the *best* of the on-line universities. I didn't enroll, but I seriously considered it. It is extremely expensive and I've heard from someone I know who was a student with UOP, that it is challenging (she worked a full-time job in addition to her classes), but she really loved it. Unfortunately, I've lost touch with her now and I have no idea if she ever finished and got her degree.

I took a Barnes & Noble University course recently about
simplifying your life. It wasn't so much about uncluttering your house as it was about finding your inner happiness. Amazingly, it worked. I excavated the junk out of the house and we did some quickie painting and swapping out furniture. Then I quit all the part-time, temp jobs, and volunteer obligations that did not give me fulfillment. I took all that energy and sunk it into my MT work AND my life's dream. It's amazing how much better things are going since I don't have all those other things in my life. I have time for hobbies, I'm making decent money at MT for the first time ever, and I don't have to search the job ads for "something better" any longer.

I agree. I work for an exceptionally difficult university and those people dictate on cell phones in
trains, in cars, everywhere and they cut out and they just have an exceptional amount of residents dictating on anything imaginable. My blanks are never for words I dont know they are for crappy dictators or those that simply dont know what they are talking about.
