This is harder to break into than MT-ing. My husband had coded in the military and then after for a home health agency and then years later decided to take the actual course. He aced it, but found that nobody was interested, absolutely nobody, without certification and/or 2 years of experience. My suggestion if you already have another job that pays is to try and get some experience in house, even if that means you have to do volunteer work, just anything to get your foot in the door.
