Whether to use *a* or *an* if front of an acronym is determined by the *sound* of the word, not the letter it starts with.  So even though *MT* starts with an *M* (consonant) it's pronounced *emm* (vowel) so it s/b *an* MT, not *a* MT.  


Just like you wouldn't say *a* apple, you would say *an* apple.  See what I mean?
