thumbs hurting
Anybody have a problem with just their thumbs hurting after a full day's work? It is starting to become more chronic with me and just wondering if anyone else has it and what to do about it. Figure just an anti-inflammatory should help but which one?
Again I am sitting here twiddling my thumbs
and waiting for some work. I started with this company about six months ago and was told I would do a number of reports per day. Well that has not happened. Most of the day I spend waiting for work, and I am not making any money while sitting here. I notified the company about a week ago that I need more work and they are supposedly looking into it, so my question is how long should I wait? Has anyone else had this problem, and how did you handle it? Thanks in advance.
I have arthritis in my wrists and thumbs, and find - sm
it works just as well to make my own. I buy cheap, thin, snug-fitting gloves, then cut out the fingers so that about 2/3 of each finger sticks out. That way all knuckle joints, base of thumbs, and wrists are warm, and when they're warm, they rarely hurt & I can type faster.
I've got sever osteoarthritis in both thumbs, and can - (sm)
feel that telltale ache coming on now in the large knuckle of my right middle finger.
I do find that as the arthritis has aged a couple years in one joint or another, the pain seems to slack off considerably. I find NSAIDs work fairly well for me. Aleve is pretty good, the effects seem to last longer than just 2 aspirin or ibuprofen.
The most important thing for me is keeping my hands WARM. I use fingertip-open typing gloves almost 100% of the time, even in summer. I have warmer ones (knit gloves I just cut the fingers out of) for winter, and for summer I bought some little lightweight 'compression' gloves I found in a mail-order catalog. Also, in winter I've noted that if I don't let my feet get cold, my hands tend to stay warmer, too.
